  1. We just got off of the Adventure of the Seas and I had sodas with dinner at times, They served 12 oz cans of soda with a glass and ice and paid $2.66 per can with gratuities. Sure beats the $3.85 we paid for a 12 oz cup, with ice in it at the airport.

Thanks I have been looking High & Low for the New price for Coke Products by the Can

  2. When we sailed on the Oasis, August 1, 2015 wih our C & A welcome back letter was 6 bottles of water (that we picked as gift, DH selected the 4 as our gift do not know why we got 6, maybe cause 3 people in our cabin?????) also got one big bottle of water and two bags of cookies.

On the back of the welcome back letter was listed all the Emerald benefits --- discounts ---(we were emerald on this sailing).

So, we used them and were not charged for them.

In the refrigerator were the usual for $$$cokes, water and chocolates.

In the "My Cruise" area of the RCCL C&A website you can select preferences depending on level. The list has improved. I always have water when I arrive in my cabin and I also select a bottle of wine at the dinner table.

    Check your selections.

  3. I would volunteer for the job without batting an eye!

I got the Royal Insider email yesterday. In it there is a section on Loyalty Ambassadors and they list 22 of them. They have some on 2 ships, which could be a possibility if they cover for each other. But this is the best of the best in the way of an RCI faux pax

  4. We did this on the Allure and it took about one week before the cruise to appear as OBC.

Same here. We signed up friends last year for a cruise this coming November. It's still not showing up as OBC yet, but when I called Royal to make final payment a month ago, I asked about it. The RCI rep called over to the C&A section and was told that it should show up about 1-2 weeks prior to cruise.

    Thanks

  5. Are you allowed to share these drinks ? We are Diamond , reciprocal from Celebrity Elite, and are travelling with SIL on her first cruise. Would we be able to get three drinks at the same time with one of our cards and give one to her ?

My Parents & I cruise with Family from Florida 3 & 2 of their friends (all Diamond)

In April this year on INDY we would go to the Dog & Badger or VCL and ther would order drinks for us on their cards

  6. On June 20th, I'll be travelling on the Oasis of the Seas (Western Caribbean) on a family reunion. There's 20 in our party (all reservations have been linked). At one point, all 20 of us were on First Seating; however, one party of 2 cancelled (before any loss of deposit was incurred), and then later rebooked (when they were able to clear other family obligations). However, when they rebooked First Seating was full. Currently they're listed as My Time Dining. Attempts by our Travel Agent to add them to Early Dining have been unsuccessful.

I'm worried. All of us being together at dinner is critical to the ultimate enjoyment of this cruise. Let me be more blunt, if we are ALL not dining together... the cruise will be a disaster & we'll felt like we wasted our $25K.

Our travel agent isn't too worried. He said that RCCL told him to advise us that: 1) to seek out the Maitre d' as early as possible on Day One and explain the situation, & 2) Have all 20 show up for First Seating.

Is it that simple? How do I find the Maitre d'? How early after boarding is he available? Noon? 1pm? What need I say? Will a tip ($20+) help? What are my prospects for success?

As far as seating, I have no illusion of one table of 20 or two tables of 10. I just want our group to be on the SAME dining schedule and in the SAME dining area. Two tables of 8 and one table of 6... OR... two tables of 6 and one table of 8... would be perfectly fine. (Note: Late Seating isn't a viable option either. We have several "older couples" and they will fall asleep in their soup of dinner is served past 8pm.)

As for the Table Size the largest I have ever been at is a table of 16 You could try to get 2 tables of TEN

  7. TravelerThom bet me to it

I recall hearing/reading somewhere that Oasis class ships are able to change the height of their Smoke-Stacks, so if an Oasis Class lowered its Smoke-Stacks to there lowest height & timed it with the tides Yes it can Clear the Bridge

So it MIGHT be issues of impracticality for an Oasis Class ship to go in and out of NY/NJ

  8. I have a colour printer, so I print them in colour.

With a lot of modern printers it's cheaper to print in colour than it is to print in black & white - with black cartridges (in a four colour CYMK printer) costing the same as colour ones. Spread the load over the four cartridges.

(TBH I don't spend time dwelling on that because colour pages cost like 5 pence - so who cares)

Obviously, you should print how ever you can, b&w or color.

But think about it: the tags wouldn't be color-coded without a reason. It's just as those paper files in your doctor's office have color-coded edges. It's so they can be more quickly put where they belong, and misfiles will instantly stand out by breaking the color pattern.

(I used to work with color-coded systems. :))

The porters are handling thousands of bags, and the work goes faster grouping by color because it takes no thought. Otherwise, they have to stop and read a tag and think for a nanosecond.

All those nanoseconds add up, and any misplaced bags don't stand out. I always print my tags in color because I can. If you have the capability, why be a bottleneck in the process?

  9. I've done a B2B on the same ship 2011 an a B2B on two different ships 2015 April

    On the 2011 B2B Liberty

All the people who were doing the B2B had to Meet in the Diamond Lounge

a few days before the end if the 1st Leg there were so many of us the we over-flowed into Olive or Twist so a staff member used a chair to hold open the DL door  of course a Diamond Snob removed it

Several of the ships Depts. offered discounts to all B2B we were giving several paper cupons, also we given the choice of what times we wanted to attend the entertainment and IIRC we were asked if any of us wanted to to be seated together in the MDR.

The day of the second leg started we had to meet up in front of the DL

ONE staff member was put in charge of taking all the B2B Passengers Down to the Port to took 3 elevator rides, so there we were waiting to be seen by US Customs around 20 mins after ALL the B2B people were down I saw someone from Royal on their walkie-talkie a fair bit.

We were then informed that Customs had changed their mind and we would NOT have to go see Customs then we were allowed to re-board the
