Bar Harbor is a wonderful port. This is accurate. And i can now say i had Lobster ice cream.

the check in for ollie’s is at the end of the pier where you get off. There are signs. You actually board the bus a block away. Very close. There were 3 15 minute stops but they were all in Acadia. Bar Harbor is easily walkable.

The tour was great. It is absolutely beautiful. Its kind of similar in many ways to Alaska, at least Acadia National Park. Kind of wish i was able to do the 9:30 4 hour tour, but we wouldn’t have made it. Pictures coming soon.

I believe there are some reserved seating in Studio B. I will have to look to see if there are reserved seating in the Lyric. There’s also a suite reserved chairs on deck, but obviously the deck is fairly clear. I think 32 is a typo. It is closer to 42. My weather app said 48, but feels like 43.

Luck. Pure Luck. They printed the instructions on the cruise critic, but you can easily miss it. Supposedly they printed earlier, but i did not see it. I never found the earlier instruction. If you have a royal excursion, you do not need a ticket. But independently, you will need it. Or purchase the Key which includes priority tendering.

Good Morning from Bah Hahba. I think that’s the accent. 6:30 in the morning to get in line for tender tickets. I don’t think i’ve ever had to do this hence me forgetting to. I’ve always had a royal excursion which didn’t need one. Though the first person in line didn’t know that so was pissed when she was told this. BUT this means i won’t miss my tour! So now i can relax and have coffee.

I think i was unclear with my last statement. I booked the Ollie’s tour at 10am because I saw arrival time in into Bar Harbor was 8am and thought two hours was plenty of time. Now I’m seeing we won’t start tendering until 9am possibly. We’ll see. I’m planning to get up way early and get tender tickets.

Day 4 cruise compass. Well crap. I forgot about tender tickets and I don’t have a royal excursion. I am running the risk of missing the tour at 10:00. I intentionally got this one because it was later but it was listed at 8am arrival. But here, it is saying estimate time of first tender 9:00. ugh

Here is tonight’s dinner menu. Always love the strawberry bisque aka milkshake soup Puff pastery mushroom Ragout Short Ribs with gnocchi. Did this used to be a stew? i want to think its different this time. It was also a little salty, but I was getting full at this point because i had 4 appetizers. The unpictured two escargot. Our waiter got my wife some indian dish. The Indian food is wonderful onboard if you can get it. And for dessert, the Coffee Pot de creme After dinner, I felt worn out. There was a LOT of people in Salem. There’s a late show tonight, but the comedian, Michelle Balan wasnt very good last cruise. We saw her twice and just have no desire to see her again.

Thanks @death_star. Yeah, just because they have it on the menu doesn’t mean they have it here. And if it was here now, that may not mean will have it when you board. Things you don’t even expect are different between cruises. Example wifi. Last leg, I had no problems. This leg, its been glitching bad. Loss of signal. Kicked off account. I had to “reset” my account because of phantom log ons. I know its my devices but it kicks me off without logging me off and I have to force a logoff.

No!!!! DDD has so many places that i had totally forgot this place was on there. Though to be honest, we were not hungry for more food. Not sure when we will be back. We also saw Harpoon Brewery. And thought we could check that out as we had about 3 hours left. Thats a big nope. It appears theres some kind of Oktoberfest going on.

For lunch, we ended up at the Lobster Chanty. This place was featured on Diner’s Drive Thrus and Dives. My first question is why would you come to the LOBSTER Shanty if you’re allergic to shellfish. Menu The lobster martini was featured on the show I got the Nova Scotia Poutine which is new england clam chowder, cheese curds and fries. And of course the lobster roll This was not a cheap lunch. Just saying.

Okay Fair warning. October is Salem’s Haunted Happenings Festival. Don’t be fooled that its a month long festival and that it will not be crowded. It was jammed. If you don’t get tickets for the museums either online after midnight or when they open in the morning, you’re done. We had planned for the Salem Witch Museum, but there’s a LOT more here. Haunted Houses. Tours, shops, museums, show. Just wow. I love this place. But you need at least a weekend to get a good sampling of this.

It started raining so its a bit wet. Our trip to the Salem Witch Museum was a success. Here are some shots of Salem.

Got our car rental. So this is a midsize car apparently. Salem is a zoo. More pics to come.

Good Morning from Boston!

Today was a lazy day at sea. I’m totally detached at this point which worries me a little. I can only stay totally detached for so long before it comes out the other end and becomes wasting away. We just hung out not doing anything until dinner. Menu Got my escargot fix as well as beef carpaccio. Not the same as Chops, but still decent. also got Calamari Beef Tenderloin. yeah, I got steak again. It was good. Grand Marnier Suffle. Peach “shortcake”. Shortcake was missing. Can you see it? After dinner, we went to Invitation to dance. Not a bad show. Nothing really special. And then, we went to the Hush Party. Royal must be reading my surveys. For years, Royal’s DJs have been subpar at best. No mixing, just playing songs. This guy was mixing and remixing. Some awesome, some not so good, but this above and beyond just hitting play on a track which they have pretty much done in the pass. Last hush party with that crowd would have been awesome. This one was no slouch either, but we have a more sedate base this time around. And with that, I’m done for the night.

I saw the water slides but couldn’t find the drive to go down it. I need a significant force of will to get into water. My wife convinced me to get into the hot tub on the last night of the last leg.

Lunch is in the MDR. The smoked potato soup was ok. The chicken sandwich was better than i expected, but the “spicy mayo” was like thousand island dressing and not spicy. We almost had a problem. We told our waiter about my wife’s nut allergy and her risotto had almonds on it. Good thing she saw it.

I was just told that the Solarium pool has the capability to be heated. Explains why someone was in the pool in the Solarium, but no one in the main pool.
