  1. I am cruising on the Independence of the Seas on Monday and it is my first cruise as a Diamond. I understand that I receive 4 drink coupons per day. My question is can you tell the bartender when you want to use them and when you don’t? Or is it the first 4 drinks no matter what? I’m not a big drinker but I was thinking I might want a beer during the day - especially on CocoaCay- and would prefer to pay for that and save my “coupons” for a more expensive cocktail later on. Thanks in advance 😊
  2. I was looking at excursions for Nassau for my upcoming cruise in May. Ended up booking snorkeling but something I saw on the shipmate app (I hope I’m allowed to say that) and was considering was an afternoon tea. I think they also offered a chocolate excursion. Maybe your sister would like one of these 🤷🏻‍♀️
  3. Won’t the kids club notify you if the kids want to leave? My kids are in their early 20’s but we cruised a lot when they were younger. In fact they used to give us a pager because it was before everyone had a cell phone- let alone a smart phone
  4. I’m considering getting the soft drink package
  5. I will be sailing this spring for the first time as a Diamond. I understand that I will receive 4 drink vouchers per day. I also understand that there is a Diamond lounge which holds a happy hour each day. Do cocktails in this venue count towards the 4 drink vouchers?
  6. My children love milk too. So as many posters mentioned we would grab a few cartons at breakfast to get through the day. We eat a lot of meals in the dining rooms even when they were small and you also get served milk (glasses not cartons 😉)
  7. My suggestion would be to wait until right before your cruise to order the drink package. Then join the roll call for the sailing just prior to yours. I’m sure someone will ask around at the bars if they have Belvedere or whatever liquor you might want. If they have it and aren’t running short you should be fine. If they don’t then you’ll know. And if they get it back in stock for your voyage it will be a pleasant surprise.
  8. I don’t see the main dining room menus in the app. Where do I find them? 🤷🏻‍♀️
  9. I have seen the new menus posted but I’m trying to figure out which 4 are served on a 4 night cruise. Going on the Independence in May and want to figure out which nights to book specialty dining. TIA!
  10. As many have said I don’t like booking an adjoining cabin but often the only cabins available in the category or deck that I want. But I have been in your shoes where I’ve needed an adjoining cabin. I’ve traveled with my 3 children since they were very young and there’s only 3 1/2 years between the oldest and the youngest. So for many years we would have to have adjoining cabins with the doors open. Once they were old enough to be “unsupervised” we would get the inside directly across the hall from us. (I’m talking when they were teenagers and have been lucky enough to travel their whole lives and they know proper hotel/ cruise cabin etiquette- especially when it comes to noise). But one thing we did is get extra “keys” for the rooms. You can get them from the guest services desk. It’s a card that has no information on it and can’t be used for purchases, etc. but will open the cabin door. So we could “pop in” anytime we wanted and they could get us if they needed something without knocking. I don’t know the relationship between you and the other cabin but the extra keys might work for you.
  11. Me too 😂🤣. I’m also from Long Island and debating on the train vs having my daughter drive me.
  12. Not everyone in Indonesia is Muslim….
  13. I am not an early riser so by the time I get on the deck- late morning or early afternoon there are never any chairs. I’m traveling solo for the first time and would like to spend sometime out on the deck. Will there always be chairs available and are there places in the shade?
  14. I have never done the Vibe passes before but I am considering it for my November cruise on the Breakaway. Opinions please 😀
  15. I’m not uncomfortable dining solo either and as kelib said I can make advance reservations for 2. Thanks for your help.
  16. I will be taking my first solo cruise on the Breakaway in November. I will be staying in a studio cabin. I’ve read that people gather in the solo lounge to make dinner plans and such but are there available reservation time slots for the specialty restaurants? I’ve always done them in advance. Secondly it doesn’t appear that there isn’t a mini fridge/ minibar in the studio. Is this correct?
  17. Are you possibly referring to when you are at one of the private islands owned by the cruise line? When we were in Harvest Caye last November we had to pay for drinks. I know with RCCL drinks are included on their private islands with a drink package- but the package itself is not free.
  18. My first cruise was in April 1990 on The Sovereign of The Seas to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. It was the first cruise for both of us. We both fell in love with cruising. We went on many more cruises- by ourselves, with our children, with extended family and even friends. We are no longer together but both still enjoy cruising- just with other people! 😂
