The waiting area is kinda disorganized. We never found a priority boarding sitting area.

Tip: in hidden room beyond the bathrooms boards first before the main waiting room. If you are in a hurry to get onboard, wait in the far room.

Do you think Platinum or CAS lines would be faster?

They're back now, but only for select Hawaii and Asia sailings. I did mock bookings for September 2020 cruises - from Seattle, it's $599 airfare for a Japan sailing and free airfare for Hawaii.

Yeah hoping to get it for Alaska.  Flying from ATL to SEA is very expensive and the NCL deal was great

For the past several cruises with suite booking, even though I would try to book restaurant reservations several months in advance, the NCL site showed them frequently not available except for very limited hour availability.  So I would contact the Concierge desk by email, ask them to make the reservations for us.  I usually had a response in just a few hours and with the times requested reserved.   This next cruise when trying to book 60 days out, same thing,  very limited availability.  Emailed the Concierge desk.   Several days to respond and then only the following.  I've followed up with them twice saying that previously they fixed it quickly before sailing.  Nope.  No longer can they do that.  Must wait until on board before finding out is our requested times were reserved.  Their answer.  Not much help.

"The ship only gives us 25% of the floorplan for pre reservations, the other 75% is held by the ship. Your concierge onboard will download all the dinner requests about 2-3 days prior to sailing. Please confirm with them upon arrival."

I called today and got all mine, I am about 100 days out.  Needed to call because we are 5 in two cabins

I applied and was approved for casino credit on my last sailing, May 2019.  I have an upcoming sailing January 2020.  If I want casino credit do I have to reapply, or can I just stop by the casino cashier with a check when I board?  Tia

So it lasts 18 months, but you have to email or call to tell them what ship you are sailing on, usually about 30-60 days out.  Every 18 months a new credit app has to be completed

  5. Great review....I can imagine the Tender in Cozumel was bad.  I was on the Breakaway Thanksgiving week and saw the Escape tender that week as well and wondered why it drew the short stick of all the ships in Cozumel.  It was there before us but looked painful as the huge tenders were packed with cruisers.  I can only imagine getting back must have been just as bad late in the day.

  6. Just one counter point.  The diversity of activities helps disperse some crowds.  Not everyone likes go carts but they keep busy and keep people away from the pool or the casino or the atrium.  Did they do a Beatles show in the main theater.  They did on the Bliss and that allowed more people to enjoy their talents

Problem in Canaveral aboard the Breakway was not with facial recognition, but the winding pathway up and back down deck 7 just to get to the facial recognition and sign out.   I swear we had had to traverse the length of the ship twice to get to that point.

The problem on the Breakaway was they called another color every 5 minutes instead of spacing it out.  We did snake the length of the ship twice to get onto land, was crazy

On embarkation day, go to the cruise next desk and sign up for the behind the scenes tour. Most times, they will tell you that it is for platinum members only. But we have had a sympathetic cruise next manager allow our non platinum guest go on the tour.

That would be awkward to go alone and without my wife
