  1. As stated before, one only needs to have 5-6 alcoholic drinks per day to break even. I, myself, will usually have 4-5 alcoholic drinks per day while on a cruise. On top of that I will also have a couple of specialty coffees, tea, a couple of waters, perhaps another bottled tea. After that, I am getting more than my money’s worth. As for my drinking habits at home...I never have a drink through the week. I may have 1 drink on the weekend and perhaps a glass or two of wine.

The OP is  obviously assuming that people who buy Cheers are drunks. They are not.

If it were me and maybe it was the OP, no one likes being yelled at.  We usually take it badly. 🙂

That’s the point. After we paid $50 we expected a lovely time relaxing in our loungers. Instead we had to listen to arguing among the vendors and having the beer cooler lid on my lounger...constantly moving my legs so he could put it there, having bags of ice smashed down beside me. It just wasn’t the relaxing day we had envisioned and that we have had in the past. Far more aggressive this time.

  3. On other visits to Grand Turk we have always gone to Jacks Shack or taken the unbellas in the back. We were there on Feb 1 as well and we were scooted right over to the front row. We thought...ok, might as well. Then before we knew it we were paying the guy $50 for two loungers and an umbrella. They then set up their coolers full of beer right next to my lounger...they had arguments and they actually put their cooler lid on my lounger while I was sitting in it. I told them they were making it hard for me to relax. The men didn’t seem to care. Finally my husband told them to knock it off and they moved the coolers behind our chairs...big improvement.

Carnival needs to get this under control. Our next cruise is stopping at Grand Turk and we will be heading back over to Jacks Shack!

  4. Keep in mind what one person says is a good beach may not measure up for others ....

    Here is a 'GOOD' beach

That does look like a great beach. Would you mind saying where it is and can one get there without taking an excursion

  5. I know that I am going on vacation and I shouldn't worry about this but every morning I have a healthy smoothie. I put either Kale of Spinach, and usually 3 types of fruit in it. Plus protein powder, oats and various supplements. I'm not going to carry on the protein, oats and supplements, but I'm starting to panic about not being able to get a healthy smoothie while on board. I see that they do offer smoothies, but what can I expect? I'm not opposed to getting what I need from the buffet and asking someone to blend it up if that's what I need to do. Thank you in advance for your advice.

Unfortunately, they don’t offer that type of smoothie. As far as I know, they won’t blend it up even if you bring them the ingredients. If I’m wrong on this, please let me know. I would love a green smoothie in the morning.

  6. And, unless you don't plan on returning to the island after taking the tender back to the ship to have lunch, why give up a good portion of your day just to avoid a few bugs? Really, the bugs aren't that bad. No worse than what you'd have at most any outdoor BBQ back at home (maybe less).

I agree...I haven’t actually noticed flies. Half Moon Cay is one of my favourite islands. I wouldn’t waste time going back and forth on the tender. The food is just fine!

  7. I'm glad you had a nice time on your cruise and I'm even more excited to see a positive review of the Vista. We leave in twelve days and I am getting tired of seeing so many negative reviews. I understand that not everyone will love everything, but wow, all the negativity is making me nervous. :)

We had a fantastic time. We managed to book a Havana Suite and just loved it. We liked most things about the Vista. The crew, public spaces, food...everything was great. There were a few minor issues but nothing that upset us in the least. Some people will complain about the least little thing. It is a vacation...enjoy!

  8. We've never been the only couple doing a B2B, and have also not had boarding begin within 20 or 30 minutes after we reboarded the ship, but we do enjoy them. In our experience the laundry room is open on embarkation day, but may actually be busy with the crew doing their laundry. I think the best day to do laundry on a B2B is the first sea day of the 2nd cruise, everyone has brought clean clothes with them so it's not busy at all.

That, too, makes sense. The first sea day of the second cruise might be less hectic. Thanks!

  9. We will be doing our first B2B on the Magic. Are we able to leave the ship Miami in order to go to a drugstore? I know we can bring wine on for the first leg, but can we bring it on for the second leg? (I know we have to go through customs) Also, is the self serve laundry open on embarkation day? I'm thinking this would be a good day to do the laundry that I don't want to send out ie: delicates.

  10. Hmm I thought I read somethinf about food at the bar. Maybe one of those sampler type style during certain hours. Looking forward to it and glad I found your review!

The Havana Bar stopped serving food a few weeks ago. Apparently a lot of it was going to waste. Shame, though, as I was looking forward to it. The area is never busy in the morning or noon time so I guess that is why
