  1. They really do need to up their game a bit on this.

They have a much nicer wine list in the Steakhouse and it is 50% off the first night and the first elegant night (you can get the free bottle but it isn't very good)

We have found the J. Lohr cab in the MDR to be quite acceptable.

  2. I am quite sure people can have guests in their Lanai. Or I hope so.

It is the pool area and outdoor bar that is exclusive until 5:00. The indoor Havana Bar is open to everyone. That is how I am understanding it.

  3. Actually I did see that on TV. Can't remember the name of show but he was on a ship with Guy's burgers. They did western itinerary and he was going around to different places helping fix specialties in restaurants. I remember jerk chicken from Jamaica, so it was a western itinerary.

I saw the show, too. It was on Foodnetwork, I think. His whole family cruised on the Breeze.

  4. I read last night on a Carnival site somewhere that it was open for lunch and dinner.

Maybe it changed to just lunch but it would be great if dinner too.

I won't go for lunch but I would go for dinner.

I agree! I will have to try it even if it is only open at lunch. Supper would be much better! I guess we will find out soon.

    The menu sounds fantastic!

  5. How long ago was this? We sail on 2/20 ... I hope they are open!!! Any recent pride cruisers who can verify if the change-over to the new vendor happened yet????

    Cheers!

We were on the Pride just last week on the Journeys cruise.

All the shops were open. We just found they were low in stock.

  6. Surprisingly the epidural series did not help me, but, so far, the dry needling has. I saw "acupuncture" on the spa list and got excited. But it really does sound like it is more for sea sickness.

Acupuncture gave my husband relief from sciatic pain. He goes for a few sessions when it flares up again. Perhaps you could get your treatments at home right up to your departure and it will be enough to hold you until you get home again. It wouldn't hurt to ask at the spa, though.

By the way....a lot of people are sceptical about acupuncture and I was, too, until I discovered that it really did help my migraines. I go for a "refreshment" every couple of years when I start to feel the symptoms again.

  7. I'm not sure how they are for sciatic pain. I have the impression they "specialize" in motion sickness. A trained acupuncturist should be able to do it all, though.

I have had treatment for migraines and I feel as though I need another round. [emoji12]

I would be curious to know someone else's experience as well.

  8. so you can check in, get off the ship, make a purchase in the duty free shop and walk back on the ship? Do you just leave the liquor from the duty free shop in the bag from the purchase?

We have brought wine on board at embarkation, left the ship, bought more wine in the duty free and walked right back on the ship. We haven't tried to bring liquor on board. I have heard, though, that security will tag any knapsack that has liquor etc with an orange tag which is easily concealed in your hand as you walk past security.

  9. We're on this same sailing and didn't realize you could bring more wine on if you disembark again. Might be worth the walk! Thanks :)

We've walked on the ship with wine and walked back out to get more. Easy! We left a few hours later in case security recognized us.

I don't think it would have been an issue anyway.

  10. On our last cruise we were able to purchase Opus One at 50% off and we also bought another great bottle at 50% off for our second night at the Steakhouse.

I would love to have bought more. We will have to ask about that the next time.

The wine selection in the Steakhouse is much more extensive than in the MDR.
