For what it’s worth just yesterday booked a 2025 cruise on Queen Anne and paid $70 pppd for the drinks package.

    Hope that’s helpful.

We are on qm2 on Nov 19th transatlantic in a few weeks and literally just bought the package a few moments ago for the week as well for $70pppd.   Glad it’s been reduced back down.  For us it’s worth it now.

  2. Hey everyone.

We are booked on the November 19th transatlantic on QM2 this year and arrive in NYC a few days after thanksgiving.
does anyone know when they decorate the ship for the holiday season?
Is it usually before our voyage date ,maybe during or the one after?

    Thanks in advance

    fraser 🙂

  3. Hi Everyone.

I hope this really isn’t a silly question, but, do we just need our cruise confirmation paperwork(boarding pass) when we go to the airport to fly to Barbados?

I can’t find any info at all on the P&O website so thought I’d ask here.  We are flying from Birmingham to join Arvia on March 17th.

Thanks in advance n happy cruising everyone. 🙂

That’s the same discount. I was saying 50% off the second fare, which is the same as 25% off the double fare.

😂😂😂. Ooops.  So it is.   Maths was never my strong point 😂😂

  5. I’ve done solo before there was single rooms and the discount was about 25%ish on a double room.  So if it’s 50% that’s amazing, well better haha

The image of the grills deck outside shows a skylight in the centre above the grills longe s the plans show 🙂

  6. Thanks so much for all of your replies.  Very helpful.

That’s just it, it is the hassle of the flights for us that’s the issue and amount of luggage (shoes,dj’s) etc.  think we will try smarten up our casual night stuff for the two formal nights.   That should do the trick.  So excited for the trip.

hope you all enjoy your next cruises whenever they are. 🙂

  7. Hey Everyone.

we are thinking of upgrading from n inside to an outside cabin on Arvia and wondered if anyone that’s sailed on Iona has experienced a connecting cabin?  What is the noise insulation like between connecting cabins?  Are you any more aware of noise from next door compared to standard noise from corridors etc.

We are considering the saver fare so might get one of these rooms so just wanted to see what peoples experiences are in these.

    many thanks

    🙂

  8. Hi everyone.

Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere.

Does anyone know roughly what the current occupancy for the Britannia is right now.  We are on in 2 weeks tomorrow and just interested to know where this was at.

    thanks so much

    happy sailing.

    🙂 🙂

  9. Apologies if this has been asked before.

im needing some clarity on the retreat and thermal suite pass on Britannia.

Can anyone tell me if you buy the retreat pass for Britannia does it give you access to the thermal suite as well?   And is it one pass per cabin as it seems to be during the booking process or does it have to be one per person even if your in the same cabin?

I’ve not been able to find the info I need on the P&O website.

    thanks so much.
    happy sailings

    🙂

I think the interiors look rather nice.

i don't know how many of you remember the plethora of negative comments when the QV emerged, and now, even though they've made the back uglier, people seem to quite like it. I think most new Cunard ships are doomed to disappoint in their appearance. I remember (as a child, I hasten to say) being very disappointed QE2 didn't initially have a red funnel, something Cunard themselves eventually realised was a mistake.

Absolutely. I remember many a comment about how the QV was a disneyfied version of “old classic liners” and the QE was too similar etc etc.

change and evolution of a brand can be a good thing and is essential if it is to survive as nothing stays the same.   As someone else said before the renders are exactly that, renders. They don’t give subtleties in design like lighting changes, textures, and an all round idea of a space.   For me I loved what I heard from the design team and looking at the details in the images so far and from the description of what they have planned. I have every faith that the onboard experience will be quintessential Cunard but updated as it very much should be for their first ship on what will be 14 years (Eeks) when she launches. 🙂

  11. Thanks for the screen grabs

am absolutely loving the images so far.   She is very very different but I’m seeing a lot of Art Deco influence in a modern way which I think is a good balance.

Your right that will be the Britannia and it’s a stunner.  For me the atrium pillars are reminiscent of the pillars in the original Queen Elizabeth’s first class lobby.

I like the new golden lion. We never tend to use the pubs onboard but I do love this design.  It’s a nice contrast to the existing ones. It feels like a combo of old club/pub type style.

Can’t wait to see the rest.  And then get a voyage in her booked up in May 🙂

there was a quick shot in the video of a guy steaming a pillow in a standard cabin and from what I noticed the design looks lovely.  Similar colourings to the Queen mary 2’s latest cabins with the mauve and golds.  It had lots of bed side sockets and a stunning geometric light sconce on the wall.

I took some screen captures from the video for those who aren't able to see the video.  I'm interested to see what you all think of the new look Cunard interiors.  I understand these views are:

    The Lobby (decks 1 - 3)

One of the 15 restaurants, I assume the Britannia (yes they said 15!)

    The Golden Lion pub

    A Queens Grill suite

    A suite bathroom

  12. Sorry if this has been mentioned before. Just noticed the subtle motif on the gold bars behind the stair case shows a rendition of Queen Anne in a nod to the reliefs the other ships have in their grand lobbys.  The more I look at the renderings the more details are starting to jump out.  Love it. 🙂

  13. Just loved the reveal today.   I used to get so excited when QE2 went for her refits to see what new style and amenities would be onboard. So this new ship really does bring that feel back especially since it’s 12 years and counting since their last launch with QE.

love the interior shots and noticed some chairs on the upper deck that are reminiscent of chairs that were on the original QE.  Similar to ones that were shown in a video cunard released about the design concepts and ideas of this new ship before the pandemic hit.   So I think she will certainly have the cunard feel in her interiors.   And it’s the details that make it when your onboard.  You just know where you are.  Can’t wait.

I am the same just happy to be on a cruise again do not care this time about going ashore as we are usually quite adventurous but do not care about anything other than being on ship again this time think you maybe on same cruise as us wonder if a lot of people will not go ashore?

We are feeling exactly the same.  We hope to go ashore but I’ll not be put out at all if we deem it best to stay onboard.  Just so pleased to (hopefully) be getting back on the ship to relax for a fortnight.

  15. Thank you both for your replies.

bluemarble, I looked again and yes I found the same as you. Just a page now with artist in residence instead.

bellboy,  oooh not long to go now. Fingers crossed yay.  I did suspect as much and agree that is the likely reason due to all the uncertainty.   It will be a pleasant surprise I’m sure when we get onboard.
have a lovely trip when it comes.  If you see an odd guy with a 9 foot selfie stick and a 360. Camera on the end that’ll be me haha. Come say hi haha 😆

  16. We are (hopefully) onboard Queen Elizabeth’s November 1st sailing to the canaries and was wondering if there was an easier way to find out which speakers will be on our voyage.  They used to have a full list of all voyages that was easy to follow but now the website takes you to a list of speakers which you have to click on individually to find out which voyage they are on?  It’s often doesn’t work when you click on their picture so wonder if anyone has seen another way of finding out which speaker is on each voyage?

    many thanks.

  17. I’ve not seen anything posted about this since the float out so apologies if I’ve missed it. But I’ve noticed that in between the mid section being taken back into the shed and the float out a few weeks back, they have taken away the lower walkway that was originally planned and then initially added onto Iona. The only other ship in the class I’ve seen without this walkway is Mardi Gras for carnival. This is a great idea for onboard experience I think by them seemingly making the good choice to open up views from inside the atrium by taking away the walkway on the lifeboat deck while retaining it for the promenade which is the best configuration I think out of all the ships. Does anyone else have thoughts/input into the walkway vanishing ha.  P.s. sooooo excited to see her for realz in a few months. Yay (I got all pics from google) 🚢😀🙏👍🥳

  18. I did this one with cunard a few years back. One of the best days I’ve had on a cruise. 100% go for it. Without spoiling it, the drive up to the baths was stunning, and the baths themselves felt as if they’d be far less commercial than the one near reykjavik. The views from the baths were stunning. I vowed right away that I’d need to return one day. Enjoy it if you do it. [emoji3][emoji269][emoji291][emoji369][emoji371]

  19. I just got off the 7 day cruise on Friday. Yes they kept cruise cards but the process was relatively easy still. Orders and any payments took longer he last eve and I did feel for the staff trying their best. We were woken on the second night by the announcement noise going off but no announcement and noticed when I went to the WC that the lights wouldn’t go on. Then we stopped dead in the water for around 30 minutes. All resolved quickly and no sign of trouble after. The captain addressed this the next day and reassured all. :-). Great cruise. :-)
