Honestly…didn’t even think about rescheduling!  Almost too obvious of an answer! LOL!  I think that’s the direction I’ll end up going.  There’s more to canceling the b2b - it’s partly money, but it’s also being gone two weeks and home responsibilities.  Thanks for everyone’s input - I appreciate it!

You can move the leftover deposit, minus the $100pp per cruise to a shorter cruise. I just did that with a Celebrity cruise B2B that I had to cancel. I travel solo and lost the $200, but moved the remaining $700 to a 6 night Alaska recently. It was the smallest final payment I ever had to make. LOL

. I have been having trouble dragging myself out of the room in the morning since I have instant coffee right there.

It’s nice to see they left the kettles in the cabins after the ship got to US. They always had them before when I sailed on Ovation, but last year when I sailed on the B5B from Sydney, they started removing them when we hit Honolulu. My sweet cabin stewardess left mine, because she knew I used it.

I am sure that you realize that nothing is free on a cruise ship.  You pay for everything one way or another.   The "all in" price on Celebrity is sky high compared to the base price which is also available.  And it often includes things that you don't really want.

It would make better sense to book the cruise at the regular price and add on the beverage package of your choice.  I am sure that it will come out cheaper than Celebrity.

I just came back from my 1st Celebrity cruise, and the all in price was $2k more. No thanks. I went with base price. Also those that had drink package don’t get the full size martini glasses. Both drink package and 2 hr Captains Happy Hour were smaller glasses. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I prefer the vouchers.

Will do. I use a CPAP as well and I always look for nearby outlets!

On Quantum class, there is a plug next to bed. I have a cpap as well.

Happy Birthday and Anniversary. My bday was yesterday and I debarked from Celebrity Edge. We did make it up to Dawes glacier, but the Edge is a bit smaller, though not much. Lots of ice in the water on the way up and a few pretty good size icebergs. Enjoy!

Apparently you cannot ever turn off the balcony screen and it has blackout curtains which are needed as I like dark sleep space.

There should be a remote for the virtual screen. If there is, hit the power button. If not, pull back the curtain and there should be buttons on the side of screen. Hit that power button. It will be nice and dark then.

Also, some of the VB cabins have a couch. You will notice when walking down the halls, so I grabbed one of those for my B2B on the Anthem next April.

Was the comedian any good?  I love stand up comedy shows.

Well, I don’t usually go to comedy shows, because I don’t find many of them that funny. He was OK. Also was touted as comedian/magician, but not really a magician. Just did silly card tricks that weren’t magic. But you may enjoy him. I did chuckle at a few things.

    Welcome home!

Interesting observation about going downhill. I have extensive domestic travel in my background; however, I have never been to Idaho, Oregon, Alaska, or, until yesterday, Washington state.  It was still daylight as we rode in on light rail through the various neighborhoods. I much enjoyed the view and I kept thinking, this literally looks like the birthplace of a revolutionary alternative rock music subgenre called GRUNGE. I don’t know what I pictured but that wasn’t it. Yet I found it delightful.

It was beautiful in a rugged, in some places rundown and others, obviously renewed and redeveloped way. As always I am a weirdo but I love gritty urban and suburban areas, a sense of history and cultural richness.  Seattle looks and feels unique and also stereotypically American all at once.

I live about 15 miles north of the city. Don’t get me wrong, I moved up here from San Diego back in 1985, and like other major cities, it has its ins and out. I love Washington. Some of the downtown areas have just gotten a bit more crazy than they used to be, but it’s still a very vibrant town, with lots of unique things to see and do.

Be patient with embarkation. With 2 ships in, this port can get wild. Hopefully all goes smoothly. I love the Ovation. Did a B5B (54) last year from Sydney, and she feels like my second home. With those legs, and an additional 3 more cruises before the long one, I have cruised her the most. I hope you have a great cruise and look forward to reading your posts.

  8. I’m on my first Celebrity cruise right now on the Edge. I came over with Elite status from RCI. I got a solo infinite veranda, which was cheaper than an interior. I do my own thing and bring my crochet along to keep me busy. I don’t eat in the main restaurants, mainly because I’m a snack portion eater throughout the day, rather than big meals. I always seem to find something I like in Oceanview Cafe, and I can eat and go. I have cruise solo since 2010, and for me, it’s the only way to go. I look at price per day and if it’s in my wheelhouse. I have earned a solo discount on RCI now, which is nice.

    Have a great time.

  9. I was a bit skeptical we would make it to Dawes, since I knew from cruising in May, we have been unsuccessful with Ovation before and also it didn’t make it this week, but Captain Matt made it. Maybe size does matter 😉

  10. 5 ships in port today, and we are parked about a mile out of town. This is a first for me, having been here a few times and being right downtown.  They have shuttle busses taking passengers into town. Nothing planned, and I’m staying onboard today. My temp app says 41F and it’s raining.

  11. I had an 11-1130 check in and it was quite the cluster. 3 ships in port and it looked like people were still disembarking (maybe Sapphire Princess). Where we were dropped off was on the other side of where we checked in, so had to backtrack, and then 3 ships going through same security line. I have experienced Vancouver before, and it never is the smoothest, but I was in no hurry. Got on ship at noon and dropped off carryon’s. My card was there.

  12. I’m also on the cruise with you. It’s my first Celebrity cruise, so I’m sure I will wondering around for a few days, getting my bearings. I’m a solo traveler, and I look like my pic, so say Hi if you see me looking lost. LOL
