  1. I sometimes wish my young granddaughters ate the "kid menu" stuff. They were always adventurous eaters . Clams casino, escargot, shrimp alfredo, lobster etc. Would save me $$$ at restaurants when we go out. LOL Chicken fingers and hot dogs are a lot less than veal marsala and crab legs. They still do like a good pizza, grilled cheese and PBJ too!
  2. I'll pass on all tubs. Don't even have one at home anymore!
  3. I book on my own when it's an easy trip like driving to the port and jumping on a ship. I'll use a TA if it involves multiple destinations and flights to places I've never been. Was referred to a Carnival PVP once after I'd been on a dozen cruises and he had no clue what he was talking about and had never been on a cruise. Whatever works for you, go for it!
  4. $100 balcony on every sailing from June 2023 through Dec. 2024. Includes DOU everywhere and $500 Fun Play. I'll only cruise in winter so looking at February 2024 B2B 9 and 12 day, Casino said no limit on amount of times it's used.
  5. Elegant nights will be on Monday and Thursday on your 6 night Legend cruise.
  6. It's a limit of 15 alcoholic drinks a day whether you purchase Cheers or not and DOU in casino counts towards that as well.
  7. My first cruise was RCL on Monarch of the Seas from San Juan (31 years ago) and I was in awe of everything. Fabulous! A girlfriends first cruise was a world cruise on Cunard.$$$$$$ My parents first cruise was on Homeric Lines on Oceanic in 1970 from NYC and it's still my mothers favorite cruise. Entry levels vary! All good...Smooth sailing!
  8. I've been on Pride 7X, so yes, I like it! I like the small ships on any line. Steakhouse is nice atmosphere and great service (usually) and I go there at least once per cruise. I've never ordered the Steakhouse entree in the MDR so don't know if it's different, other than the price. Enjoy!
  9. I prefer to board later. The ship usually doesn't leave till 5 or 6 and there's no crowds getting on board after 2:30.
  10. The last time I did Chef's Table, you didn't have a choice since it was only one night on a 7 day cruise. This was on Pride in 2019 and I think it was a casual night on Tuesday, the 3rd day of the cruise and a sea day.
  11. I love Pride and love sea days and have never done the Panama Canal cruise so that would be my choice. I also cruised solo on Pride for the 14 day Journey's in 2020 and met a great bunch of people. Cruised Pride 7X, never sailed on Horizon but have done a multitude of Caribbean cruises!
  12. You can sit on your balcony and enjoy your drinks. You just have to go to a bar to get them. Bartenders won't open your beers if you ask them not to. I only drink beer and never had an issue with that. It helps if you go to the same bar on board and they know your preferences.
  13. Ken is still on. Have no idea about Fun Squad crew
  14. That's a smokers delight price! . My sister pays $157.00 a carton in New York and New Jersey is $120.00.
  15. As of 2019 in NJ (and other states) it's optional to select gender on a newborn's birth certificate. M F or X Welcome to 2023.
  16. Thanks for sharing another adventure, Jeff. Always so nicely done!
  17. Yes, they are legit. It's the only way I've been cruising Carnival with the exception of my first one (that I paid for). DOU Everywhere on board is nice too and there's always OBC and casino play! It's one of the reasons I just stick with Carnival.
  18. When I cruised on Valentines Day the only thing Carnival did was give the ladies a single, red rose before dinner. When they ran out of roses, they gave carnations. There was nothing else although there were a lot of couples lined up for photos and I think they had a Valentine heart theme for that. I observed. Didn't take any photos as I was sailing solo.
  19. The majority of my cruises have been from NYC and NJ (RCL) and I love leaving from NYC as it's close to home and no flying. Have met a lot of fun people on board. There won't be a lot of kids since it's the start of the school year for the area and it won't be an old fogey cruise either. The Canada itinerary had a nice mix of ages. I like the itinerary for the cooler weather but on one Canada trip in September it was unseasonably warm and hit 85 one day in Halifax. Pack layers of clothes since the temps change throughout the day. It was never freezing and never sweltering. It's still one of my favorite itineraries that I'll do again at some point and was looking at Venezia as well!
  20. I love the beach when there's no one on it except me. Not a fun day with hundreds crammed on chairs an inch apart. Private islands have become ship days!
  21. I get so many Carnival offers, it's sometimes annoying. E-mail and paper mail, numerous times a week. And in between I get phone calls from Carnival regarding the offers I got by mail If I have no interest, I ignore, delete or throw in trash. Currently Platinum but have been getting these since my first time on Carnival...2014 Funny that I get nothing from the other lines I've sailed!
  22. I usually do online check in a day or two before I leave for the cruise even though I can do earlier as Platinum. No rush to board early, Just happy to be on board before the ship sails!
  23. My first 2 cruises on Carnival/ Splendor (Feb and Mar 2014) had really nice samples in a basket. Everything I liked and used. When I went back in May of the same year, there was NOTHING, 9 years ago. Never saw anything since!
  24. Carnival stopped selling Parliaments on all ships in 2019. My old brand and I wasn't happy....LOL
  25. When I first sailed Carnival I had a PVP call me. He had no clue what I was talking about and I had been on 15 cruises on different lines. He said he had never cruised. That was enough for me. Just book on my own since my cruises are not complicated. Drive to port. Get on ship!
