  1. The complaints are probably submitted by real people but edited for clarity/content by the same group of "writers." Some of the complaints I've heard from people while cruising has me convinced that you can't make this SH**T up!
  2. The biggest ship I've sailed on was MSC Divina in 2017 and it always felt crowded It was a beautiful ship but it was people everywhere, day and night. Mardi Gras and Celebration are bigger so I don't know if I'd ever go on either. I'll never say "NEVER" but I really like the smaller ships best of the lines I've sailed. Not a fan of water rides, roller coasters and a million dining venues. Got some good offers to sail on the big ships but hesitant to do so because of the passenger capacity!
  3. I love Pride and have been on 7X. Perfect size for me and always a fun time. If you're looking for all the bells and whistles of the big ships, you won't find it on Pride.
  4. I will only say,"DON'T DO IT." Once was enough for me....(LOL) Started with a group pf 20 and ended up with 7 of us going. As soon as the final $$$ was needed, the others ran every which way, except to the bank! (This was a Club Med trip, not a cruise) Never did it again. Happy Solo Traveller!
  5. You really never know. I was almost diamond on RCL (a long time ago) and booked a balcony guarantee. Got an Owners Suite about an hour after I booked it! The cruise was months away. Still the best I ever got booking a GTY,
  6. I carry disposable straws at all times so I always have my own with me. The ones on the ship were disgusting and some restaurants don't offer them anymore. I also use them at home or if I'm at someone's house. Bought a metal reusable but it made me gag. I bring extra for cruises and I'm always giving a few away... Unfortunately, I can't drink anything without a straw!
  7. No DL needed. Passport info and credit card info for sign and sail account, unless they are using cash.
  8. I took my husbands ashes in my carry on. No issues. Don't know if things have changed since it was 13 years ago.
  9. Don't know anything about Venezia yet but a lot of my prior cruises have been from NYC. It's a favorite port since it's close to home and have always had an easy time boarding. Booked for 2024 on Venezia.
  10. I get them all the time. Good for cruises through 2025 right now for my offers. If those expire, I get a new batch Have one booked for 2024 but no burning desire to cruise like I used to!
  11. I believe you have to go to Pixels to get gifts etc. and call from your cabin for in room treats and go to casino for your $25 cash.
  12. Not a fan either. Ordered once. Can only be compared to eating warm mud.
  13. I've been on Pride 7X (from Baltimore) and always met people of a variety in ages. Met lots of twentysomethings along the way at the bars/casino who were very sociable and always ready to chat with this old bat!
  14. Happened to my mom a few years ago. It cost her $125 to get her missing bag from Seattle back to NJ. It was clearly the cruise lines fault since the bag was never taken off the ship. This was on CELEBRITY, her favorite cruise line! Mother should have listened to daughter for once. I told her, CARRY ON, CARRY OFF (LOL). Happy they located your bag. This can happen on any line.
  15. Fun Play credit is casino only, not OBC that can be used anywhere.
  16. Whatever floats your boat for what you like and are willing to pay! After being to pristine beaches in the Virgin Islands with no one there and no charge for anything, HMC does nothing for me. Too crowded. Enjoy what works for you!
  17. I could eat Baked Alaska every day and nothing else for the whole cruise! It's the only dessert I eat when cruising...but it is nice to do Steakhouse on the final night!
  18. Still waiting for "a check in the mail" for taxes and port charges from a cruise I cancelled. The PVP I spoke to said that due to unusual circumstances (the credit card was cancelled by me) I would get a check but it would take time. It's been 6 months. I sent a registered letter with all the details to Carnival Corporate Headquarters in January and no response yet. Grateful that it's only $163.00 and I'm not depending on the $$ to buy eggs and beer (LOL). I have the time to deal with it but it seems ridiculous that it would take so long. I've already kissed the money goodbye but it's the point of the matter.
  19. I would go with Newark. 11 miles from the port and an easy taxi ride to Manhattan cruise terminal.
  20. I don't know but would like to hear what others say, My Carnival cruises have only been out of NYC and Baltimore..(Driving distance) It's been 6 years since I had to fly to cruise (not Carnival) and used free air miles for that!
  21. I've had hand payouts (over $1200) on every CCL cruise I've been on. The best in one shot was probably on Pride in 2018. $5000 on the good old quarter slot machines (not that video crap they have now)
  22. I've cruised out of Baltimore 8X since 2018 and I still think it's the easiest port ever to deal with.
