I've never had the chance to go to Belize, but I've been to Progreso a few times and I really enjoy it. We usually ride the double decker bus and then walk around for a little bit before going on our tour. There are some excellent excursions that you can take when in Progreso. We are looking forward to going to Uxmal this June!

I usually start throwing stuff in my bag a few weeks before the cruise. I have my paking list and I cross them off as they get packed, this way I know I've packed everything I need! I love packing for a cruise! :)

New Orleans is a well organized an smooth running port. I would not have bought the FTTF. If you arrive early, you will get right on the ship.
I do agree with the fact the the NOLA peir is well organized, but we chose to buy FTTF for our Elation cruise in June. We are always on the ship early, but it will be nice to be able to go straight to the room and drop off our bags. It is kind of a pain to drag our bags around with us for a few hours. If we feel that FTTF isn't worth it, we won't purchase it again. You never know if you don't try!

98 days!!! I didn't even realize it was in the double digits! Woohoo! :)

I used to wear the patches that you put behind your ear, but on the last few cruises, they have started messing with my vision. Can't go through a whole cruise with dialated pupils!! I'm going to take dramamine on my next cruise. I plan to take it at night just in case it does make me drowsy.

Not really shocking, but funny....I think this happened on my cruise in 2010. There were several high school senior trips on board and although most of the kids were well-behaved, that wasn't the case for one boy. Mom and I were standing in one of the upper decks in the atrium when, all of the sudden, a woman in her 40's started screaming at this kid down below us. At first, I thought the woman was off her rocker, but then I realized she was a chaperone on the senior trip and the boy she was yelling at had somehow become pretty drunk. The poor kid kept looking at us like we were going to help him and the woman stormed off and said she was going to get security...didn't see him for the rest of the trip! This is a perfect of example of why I teach 5th grade...I'll never have to worry about dealing with high school kids on a trip! :D
These stories are hilarious!!

We've always been on by 11:30 or 12.

Food doesn't even come into the picture when I think about cruising! We never eat in the main dining rooms...the Lido deck buffet is fine with us. I'm actually not a big fan of the food on cruise ships, so I tend to eat most of my meals from the deli. But to each their own...whatever makes the cruise enjoyable for them!

I've never met the captain and I'm not concerned with ever meeting him. I always seem to meet the cruise director, but I've never gone out of my way to meet them. The CD definitely doesn't make or break my cruise.

The people that use those motarized wheelchairs can be very rude in a grocery store and the same goes for a cruise ship! Just because you are in a wheelchair doesn't mean that you get to do whatever you want. I have no problem with giving people their space, but when you back me up against the elevator wall, I just really want to tell you exactly what I think. It also irks my nerves when parents just let their kids run wild! I teach 5th grade...I know that kids are perfectly capable of behaving! But in spite of the rude people that I sometimes encounter, I still love my cruises!

I wasn't quite as upset about my last cruise ending as I normally am. It was a great cruise, but Mom and I had experienced two busy pre-cruise days, so by the end of everything we were tired!

Mine was the Fantasy. I was sad to see it leave New Orleans.

FTTF only affects the ports that require a tender. At all other ports, you will have to wait with everyone else.

I look at it this way - if it's the end of the world and I happen to be on the deck of a cruise ship with a DOD in hand, well, there is no place I would rather be!
I've always said this! :)
There's nothing you can do about the sitiuation in Ukraine, so just go on your cruise and have a great time!

I've used Autoprogreso 3 times and have always been back on the ship in plenty of time! Carnival uses Autoprogreso for their tours, so depending on what excursion you book, you'll have people that booked the excursion through AP and Carnival on the same bus.

Miami Vice...love them!!! Welcome to the addicition of cruising!

I love the body wash..smells great! I bring my own shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo just doesn't seem to work well on my hair.

Can you get it with just noodles and meat? I would like to try this, but I don't do veggies.
Absolutely, you pick whatever you want.

We purchased FTTF for our cruise in June and this will be our first experience with it. We are always on the ship early, but we liked the idea of being able to put our stuff in our room as soon as we get on the ship! It's kind of a pain to lug everything around for a few hours.

I personally am fine with cruising on Carnival without trying other cruise lines, but if you want to try a new line...go for it! You'll never know if you'll like something else unless you try it.

I love the Elation! I also loved your pictures of Uxmal! Mom and I were planning on going there last summer, but it didn't work out. We are going in June and I can't wait!!

I finally tried the Mongolian Wok on my last cruise and I loved it! Like the previous poster said, it's all a matter of your personal taste. Just pick things that you like and you'll be good to go. I load mine down with broccoli and corn..yummy! As for the long line, it moves pretty quickly. I never waited for more than 10 minutes. Be patient, they are making everyone's food right in front of you. It is definitely worth the wait and (I think) it's much better than the food at the buffet!

You don't go under any bridges, but I love cruising down the river! It's neat to see all the little towns right along the river. I've never noticed a bad smell.
Carnival Sunshine 7 day or Disney 4 day?
in Carnival Cruise Lines

I've never been on a Disney ship, but the kids I've seen on Carnival always seem to be having a great time. My vote is for the Sunshine...7 days is definitely better than 4 days!
