  1. This is my thought exactly. I really don't want to go in the opposite direction of where I'll be going and $50 to get to the porch...well, I'd rather just put that into the price of the hotel and be closer. Just my thoughts, but I'll still check it out. (Never used Uber or heard of Lyft and the thoughts of just getting in a strangers car that's working for themselves with this app is just weird to me, even though my brother-in-law does Uber on the side in the past. I don't know what type of background checks they have to pass or what all is involved...may be totally off base with this, but not something I've checked in to).

I agree with uber.. Not comfortable! Also I had no idea it was a $50 cab ride... [emoji33] this entire trip is costing 3 times as much this time around and I'm freaking out. I'm Thinking going out for food and drink after landing isn't worth it and I'll just book the closest hotel to the airport and port. Still havnt pulled the trigger on airfare either...about $500pp.

  2. Holy moly! This is the jackpot thread for me, I posted almost the same question last night and only got once response. (Thank you lido_deck) Anyway, thanks for compiling the info, when are your dates? I'm looking at 3/31 and was debating on la Quinta in plantation,.. Then looked at map and realized we're going like 20 min in opposite direction as port... Seems silly but might be the only option?

  3. I'm having a hard time narrowing it down, we are looking to possibly stay in a decent hotel for around $150 pre-cruise. We are flying in in the evening and would like to be able to walk to a restaurant or bar/grill for a few drinks and something to eat. Last time we stayed at la Quinta tamarack and while we liked the hotel it has nothing close by and some of the other hotels I've seen suggested are close to $300 a night.

I realize you get what you pay for, just wondering if there's a happy medium out there someone might know about.

    Thanks!

  4. Every cruise I've taken has left from Florida with the exception of Baltimore which we drove to. ( we live in New England) I'm debating between the conquest out of Fort Lauderdale or the freedom out of Galveston next April 1st. Are there a lot of differences leaving from Texas? I know you can't buy cheers until second day but what about flight prices/ distance few airport to port etc. also if you've been on both ships is one better than the other? The trip from Texas is about $400 cheaper but not sure now much more it will cost to fly, hotel, shuttle etc.

    thanks for any insight.

  5. Either way you pay for 6 days. When I went to purchase Cheers on line for our upcoming cruise (Breeze from Galveston May 29th) it automatically defaulted to 6 days. The 15% gratuity is automatically added as well.

    $344.66 per person purchased pre-cruise

    $379.16 per person purchased on-board

Thank you this was the info I was looking for

  6. We did have a good time thanks!

    1. Yes, the ship felt crowded to me. There were long lines for everything! I think because it was a spring break cruise so ship was probably close to capacity. I tried a few time to get an ice cream cone and Mongolian wok, but gave up because it was just taking forever. Guess I didn't want it that bad!

    2. We had anytime dining and it was in the lower level of the sapphire dining room, midship.

    3. We never made it to a production show which I was sad about, we opted for comedy instead and I have to say they were rather dull compared to other comics I've seen in the past. Not terrible but didn't die laughing either.

    4. Casino was a bit smokey for me, I hate the smoke and could smell it on my hair just passing through. I avoided it as much as I could, although I did do a few slot tournaments and such. I really wish carnival would alternate smoke free nights.

    5. Download the hub app before you leave, it's got the fun times and some of your pictures will show up there. Also if you want to do the behind the fun tour sign up right away at the Shore Excursions desk, i stood in the wrong line (guest services) for almost 30min before I realized I was I the wrong place. Buy your cheers package and water before you board because it's more expensive on the ship. Deck 6 balconies are slightly obstructed due to the lanai below...would recommend higher decks for more privacy and better view down. That's all off the top of my head.

I'll be writing a full review in the next week or so, keep a look out! Let me know if you have more questions- i feel like answers had a negative vibe to them but don't get me wrong we had a great time!

  7. Well, based on the times of your cruises, I would say time of year would definitely be a factor. Early December is one of the least cruised times of the year (as very few people take off right before the holidays). All your other cruises were around spring break time, which is generally sold out.

Yep, it's was a journeys cruise and I do believe sold out but very few kids.

  8. Weird question but, I'm on the breeze in 10 days and have always brought my own hangers since I hang almost all of my clothes. If I ask for extra hangers to they give me more of those weird ones without the hooks? Or do they have different ones for backup?

    Just curious

    Thanks
