Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. My wife and I are not big drinkers but we upgraded to the classic beverage package. Not sure if it won't really be worth it or not. I'm curious about what mixed drinks you are allowed to order on the classic package? Can't find that on the Celebrity site. Thank you!
  2. Great on the refund; at least they are doing the right thing there. I want to wait to see if they spread this to other ships before I cancel, but don't want to lose the chance to cancel. Our two cruises are in September so time is getting close. They must have had a smoker make this decision. Shortly this will become a big social media influencer thing; this will be an environmental and social fail for Celebrity.
  3. We are too late to rebook two cruises, but will look elsewhere next time. Seems weird that they would concentrate on a group that is 13% of the population and dropping, 50% of them have have not graduated from high school and 57% earn less than 50K per year. So maybe a target population of 6% of the general population. Maybe you can extract enough money from this group to make it worth your while, but that will come at a cost to some of the other 94%.
  4. Well with the smoking in the casino and the changes with lobster and steak, it appears they want to carve their niche in the lower end market and compete head-on with Carnival and MSC. They were trying to be an upper midscale, but they must have found that to be a hard market to do right and make money at the same time. Remember this all started with complementary room service going away. It's all about the $$ for any business.
  5. This appears to be their attempt to go head to head with MSC and Carnival and to attract that lower end cruising market. Same with getting rid of the lobster and filet, any place to squeeze a few more bucks, but be competitive on the booking price. People will use the casino as a place to smoke when they don't find it convenient to go outside and Celebrity will make a few extra dollars.
  6. If Celebrity is hurting that bad that they must do an up charge, they should just charge $10 more for the cruise and call it good. Guest should not (in my humble opinion), be charged and up charge. Our last trip 3 months ago on the Silhouette was fabulous, except one night we decided to eat at the Oceanview and the choices were awful. I get not over cooking and wasting food, but still they should still over a nice product. That was the only thing that they got marked down on.
  7. Well this is one of the reasons why we left another cruise line and moved to Celebrity. We unfortunately have another cruise scheduled with Celebrity that we have paid for or we would cancel. Very regressive decision, but I can vote with my feet.
  8. Great will go for the softer yellow and non flicker
  9. Interesting idea. How long do the batteries last? This will be 10 days; that would be 80 hours.
  10. I understand that the Edge class ships have a undercabinet nightlight in the bathroom. We are going to be staying in an inside cabin on an upcoming cruise. Do we need to bring on of those magnetic motion lights or will the undercabinet light work just fine? We don't want anything that is super bright and that might really wake us up, but just a little bit of light for safety. Thanks!
  11. I thought about that. I will change my booking habits with Celebrity and see how that does.
  12. This is good to know. I will start watching!
