  1. I assume you have hotel reservations already? Where are you staying? Thanksgiving Week is one of the single busiest weeks in Hawaii so pretty much everything is open and restaurant reservations at the top places fill up quickly. If you are staying near the Ala Moana end of Waikiki, I love 100 Sails in the Waikiki Prince Hotel. Start checking soon for reservations to open up.
  2. Parking is so dear in SF, I have never found a good Park & Sail Deal in the City. Even the hotels by the airport that do have the Park & Sail packages are charging $130 more for a room that includes parking. I'd park at a BART station with reserved parking and take BART into the City. I'd probably park in Berkeley because I know the town so well, but you might be more familiar with other BART stations.
  3. I have. I used DayUse and ResortPass, depending on the location.
  4. Use the website DayUse.com and plug in your dates.
  5. Torrance & Redondo Beach are the areas "between" LAX and San Pedro I'd consider. At LAX, Homewood Suites/H Hotel (two hotels one building) is my current crush and LAX Marriott is my long time standby.
  6. I can't imagine the lot being full, ever. I think you'll be fine.
  7. So now I am confused. I thought you were using points? If you are paying cash, there are a dozen or more places I'd recommend before the HGI. If you are using Hilton points, that is a different story.
  8. If you don't like Uber or Lyft, just engage a cab. If you walk off the ship, 11:30AM is okay. Personally I'd never schedule LAX before noon, but that s me. Did you check LGB flights in and out? It is a much easy airport to deal with.
  9. The area is fine, but what sights do you want to walk to? The Hilton Downtown on 6th is a slightly better location in terms of walking to say Pike Place Market, or the Westlake Center and most of the Downtown sights.
  10. Uber can drop off at the LAX terminals, they just can't pick up from there.
  11. I assume you mean the Best Western Plus San Pedro Hotel & Suites? If so, it is so sudden, there is nothing in the papers or on the Internet yet.
  12. The Cove area is not a great area. I know it well because it is close to where I park my car (Willow Street Station) when I ride the Metro into Downtown LA when I don't need my car.
  13. I'd start by checking the Crowne Plaza San Pedro, DoubleTree San Pedro, Best Western Plus San Pedro Hotel and then Best Western Plus Hotel At The Convention Center (Long Beach) to start.
  14. It is not an area in Long Beach I would stay; certainly not for "a few days". What is your nightly budget for a hotel? Where are you coming in from? What do you plan to see in your "few day?"
  15. Hotel Maya is wonderful to their cruising guests.
  16. Best option is Uber or Lyft, cheapest is public transportation, C Line Light Rail to Silverline Bus. https://goo.gl/maps/UH44Em6b1D7q9nZt5
  17. If you mean the Best Western Worldport Hotel, aprx. 15-18 miles, depending on route.
  18. I am not BermudaBound, but I don't think the additional "perks" of the Club Balcony Suite justify not just getting a Balcony Suite.
  19. So yeah, it may be in the mid 50's, but as long as the wind is blocked it is nice. If you are the Serenade of the Seas, the Solarium is amazing and where I spend the majority of my down time.
  20. Why? Can you get 50 pieces of bacon and 3 pounds of smoked salmon in the MDR? 😁And when you want it? I prefer the buffet to the MDR in general because no one looks askance at me in shorts, I can get what I want, when I want, how much I want and seconds, thirds and fourths if I choose. I can try both (or all three) soups, I can make my own salad, get as many desserts and as much ice cream as I want and I don't need to wait to have my coffee or water refilled (in case you haven't guessed, I have control issues πŸ˜†). There are times I want to be served, but I eat out at nice restaurants A LOT as entertaining clients and prospects is a huge part of what I do for a living. So being served at the MDR, Cagney's etc I tend to be impatient, even on a sea day, which I know makes no sense at all.....
  21. I think Bluewater Grill has the best food, Buffalo Nickel is good and so is The Sand Trap.
  22. Where in Long Beach? Downtown is different from the airport, and different from Long Beach PCH. In general Uber is what I'd use, but if I was in Downtown, a cab wouldn't be much more these days.
