How far in advance can you use the new app before you sail we are not sailing till nov
Not sure? Its only showing my Latitudes Rewards, My Vacations so far on my phone. Its not supported yet for Bliss. Probably will be closer to the first sailing before we can use it further.

Our upcoming trip will be our first Carnival in years. I am MORE than a bit disappointed to hear about the ice bucket. DH uses the ice all day long. I'll be down at the services desk if this happens to us, and writing Carnival a letter post cruise.
Some things may seem little to others, but this is a HUGE one for us. Dh spends a LOT of time in the cabin and drinks a LOT of water and ice while there. Waiting around on room service to deliver ice is unacceptable. (Yes, dh is in the room, but not necessarily for hours at one time, feeling as though he can't leave while waiting for ice that we are accustomed to having refreshed twice daily, whether he's there or not.)
If the stewards are not going to deliver, do as the hotels and put the machines at the end of the hall. Talk about going downhill. Ugh!
I've been trying to go into this cruise with an open mind. I booked it more for my adult son who likes to have someone to vacation with. Princess was a bit 'silver', and we all don't care for the changes under the new regime at Norwegian. Enter, Carnival.
I've kept saying, while reading these boards, worst case this, worst case that. No ice........OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll take it up at the services desk. *sigh* :(

Take gallon zip lock bags and go to Lido and fill up the bag there. I take a collapsible cooler and our room steward fills it twice a day. If I need some before he gets to it I fill up the zip locks at the beverage stations on Lido.

It was MY CC on my husband's xBox account. The cruise was paid with this CC, and I just booked excursions and internet before the sale ended yesterday.
The bank cancelled my CC as over $600 in charges from Microsoft were on it. I'm getting a new CC.
But I thought I read on here once that another member had an issue upon boarding because he/she had a new CC as well.
Will I run into any trouble? Is this something I need to contact my TA and RCL about immediately? We cruise April 15th.
Make sure you call credit card company and let them know you are traveling. I call about a week before so they don't think it is fraudulent charges. They will mark your account with when and where you will be traveling.

I see with AARP you have to pay shipping and handling. I am curious how much the shipping and handling is? Anyone know?
Verizon is $2.95 so maybe AARP is the same?

We are booked into a large balcony cabin next weekend, deck 9. Do these balconies have loungers as well as upright chairs on them?
Large Balcony's don't always have 2 lounge chairs.. but do have 2 chairs and a small table. Neither mine nor my sisters balcony had lounge chairs.. we just asked our room steward and he brought us one.. he did ask how many we needed.:tropical-drink::tropical-drink::tropical-drink::cocktail::cocktail::cocktail:

Someone on a fb group is saying their Cove balcony on Magic was unusable because of a terrible smell and their steward said a couple are like that.. our cabin is only three down from where this person was. Does anyone have experience with this?
We were in 2337 and didn't smell anything. This cabin is one of the ones that is between the lifeboats and had more sun.. which we were trying to avoid. :mad::cool:

Thanks I have done that. I have also heard that someone took a sugar packet to the wok area and asked for it to be mixed with the soy sauce. I just thought that I would like the Teriyaki sauce better, but who knows if I will really take it with me?
I have been bringing a bottle of Teriyaki sauce for the Mongolian Wok for 7 or 8 years now, don't care for any of their sauces either. I have also heard of the sugar packet and soy sauce. And I bring Horseradish for the Ruben sandwiches from the Deli. A bag of some kind of salty chip and M&M's. ;)

We have the 3-meal UDP. Can we use one of our free meals in Cirque Dreams, or is that pay-only?
Yes.. you can use your UDP.. just booked ours on the Epic and it was 17.70 per person.. that includes the tax.

Can you tell me if the outside doors are magnetic, never decorated our door before, but my son's 16th birthday will happen while we are cruising and I would like to make it extra special. Dont know if I should use magnets or tape. Thanks in advance for any info!
Not all the doors are metal which ship are you sailing on? Can't use tape anymore you can use poster putty found in Walmart or any craft store or the 3M Command Hooks that don't leave any residue on the doors. Hope this helps.

This is my first post on CC. I've been a lurker for quite some time, but since we are in the midst of planning a cruise, I figured this would be the perfect time to join!
My husband and I have a great opportunity to sail on the Epic for the Western Mediterranean cruise in the fall of 2017. Being a history and ocean liner buff (hence by username) I cringe at the outside aesthetics of the Epic, but the price and ports were just too good to turn down, and I have read numerous good reviews about the ship.
We have the choice to choose from a mid-ship balcony cabin (BB) or a large balcony cabin (B6.) While we are leaning towards the B6, I wanted to hear if you guys had any advice or pros/cons concerning both choices. Also, the bathroom configuration has us scratching our heads a bit. How did they work out for you?
I appreciate any help or advice in advance. Thanks and looking forward to posting more in the coming weeks!

Loved our B6 balcony on the Epic very large compared to regular balconies. We were on deck 10 forward/ mid. (the very forward ones on every floor are hull balconies that are enclosed like the cove balconies on Carnival). We have a B6 booked in Nov on deck 11 aft. No problem with the bathroom configuration for us.
Look for reviews from SDMike on the Epic he has a comprehensive room pros and cons review.

We have 9092 booked on the Epic for a TA. It's midship/hump. Is is covered- it looks like it is, and maybe bigger than a regular balcony, as it's a mini suite?
Does anyone know. I searched through the other threads, but couldn't find anything on this particular room/balcony.

Okay I am confused. When booking our cruise , we selected tge UBP and paid taxes and the 18% up front. Are you saying there are extra charges we will encounter related to this, while on board?

On the Getaway 1/10 before leaving the Port of Miami for a Margarita it was $.94 cents extra tax, even though I had several and Husband had a few beers at O'Sheehans before sailaway the only one I was charged extra tax on was Waves Pool Bar for $.94. After sailaway and when you reach a certain area out to sea you no longer have to pay extra tax for Miami. They had us sign the receipts before we were at a certain spot out to sea then after that we did not have to sign anything!

Hi! So my mom and I are doing a mother/daughter cruise in May to celebrate my 30th birthday and Mom's 30 years of being a mom! We are doing a 4 night cruise on the Fascination out of Jacksonville (Freeport/Nassau/Sea Day) - easier on our work schedules and I won't have to leave my husband and babies for too long :) Neither of us have been on this ship, but we've done a few of the other Carnival ships as well as other cruise lines, so if anyone has any info about this ship - the good, the bad - on food, activities, spa, shows, pool etc., we'd love to hear about it! We've been to Freeport & Nassau numerous times, so will most likely be staying onboard just relaxing when we're in port. Also, if you have any copies of recent Fun Times for this itinerary I'd love to see them. Thanks so much!! :)
Serenity Adult Retreat is located on Deck 9 Aft ..doors are all the way to the back of Puttin on the Ritz lounge. Doors are on each side. Was hard to find at first for us.
The Aft Dinning room are a pain to get to if you don't use the Aft elevators because you can't cut through there because the galley is in between the Dining rooms on those floors.
Deli I believe stayed open until 11:00pm. and there is late night snacks.. think hamburgers and fries, cookies and such at 11:00- 12:30 ish??? check Fun Times for Times.
Mongolian Wok was good as was the Deli. Pizza Pirate was open 24 hrs.
Taste Bar is Open on Sea Day starting at 5:00 I believe. And even though they do not have any Specialty Restaurants they do serve Appetizers from the different Ships that have them.
Coffee Bar on Deck 9 ..great cakes by the slice or chocolate covered strawberries (for a fee) Cherry on top Candy store.

If you find a lower price just fill out this form and send it in. On your paperwork it will say how much you paid for your Cruise Rate this is without taxes, fees, and port fees.

So I submitted my price drop - I got approved - Yay!
Only thing is, they took away my $50 OBC that I received last month when the Early Saver Last Call sale. But they have applied the $50 to my booking. Is that normal? Is it because I claimed under a different sale that they can take away from $50 OBC? :confused:
Yes.. with a different sale you loose any of the OBC or perks. But you gained $50 on this one.

We are booked for the Conquest in June! Price has dropped twice. The first time I called Carnival and they suggested I file the "price drop" claim form. I did and NEVER heard back! Price dropped again today! Question is NOW WHAT DO I DO?
I booked with Carnival directly (dont remember with who, although I suppose I might be able to go through my paperwork). ANY ADVICE??!! This is the first time we have EVER had a price drop!
File this price drop also. Go look on you Manage My Cruise page on Carnival and look to see if the price drop is already taken off your form. They do not send an email every time.. Ours has been taken off in as little as a couple of hours to a few days time. Hope this helps!

So we are considering upgrading to a balcony for our upcoming sunshine cruise. I have seen some pictures of the oceanview (which we currently have booked) and some pictures of the balcony cabins.
We will have our 2 daughters with us in the room. Oldest DD would prefer to sleep on the bottom "bunk" sofa. I was just looking a video and the sofa seems very small. Does anyone know if this is pretty close to a standard size bed in length? Oldest DD is not hugely tall but she does need a close to normal size bed.
The sofa in the oceanview rooms does look bigger. HELP!!!! If the sofa is smaller we might just stick to our original room!

Sunshine has a smaller sofa , think love seat, than the rooms on other ships I'm short 5 foot and my feet did wind up in Mom's face some mornings, did not have them pull out the bed just had then make up sofa for bed as is.. They will pull out from one side of it so the bed part is out length wise of the bed and its a regular size then. Sofas are the same size, Love Seat, in all of the rooms on Sunshine that I saw when passing by. Also no frigs. in most rooms. Go with the Balcony ..you will be glad you did.. for the extra space! ;)
