  1. how does one go about getting a price drop difference on an already paid for cruise... ?? we sail in 67 days and it seems our trip has dropped in price a few 100 total for our room..

If you booked at Early Saver rate then you can get a price drop for OBC up until 2 days before sailing. If you booked at another rate you might be able to upgrade you cabin.

Call Carnival and see what they can do for you or if you booked with a TA call them.

  2. I recently booked my grandaughter on a cruise on oct 14 . I got a letter today offering me a free for two 4,5, or 7 night cruise. I have to pay port and taxs. Hummm, that makes it no so free. This is from carnival and a check for $1929 to be used for the cruise is enclosed. I have 48 hours to call and accept. Before I call I wanted to see if anyone knows of this and if it is legit or a scam. Letter states you leave from port canaveral. I live 45 minutes away so it sounded good. Thanks in advance.

This doesn't sound like the offer for a free cabin( it does not say FREE Cruise) that i recieved in the Mail??Carnival offers are listed on carnival.com/offers it uses your VIFP# so check on line or you can call.

  3. We have just returned from our first Carnival cruise and very interested now to book our next one. Can anyone please advise if there are any benefits of having previously sailed with Carnival? Someone said their credit could also be used on Princess lines but I cant find anything on either, although I would be booking Carnival. Thank you

Join the VIFP Club on Carnival website. You will be assigned a VIFP# and it will keep track of your cruise history.

  4. First time on the fascination. Any tips/tricks/good things to know?

Sailed on Fascination 3 times Love the Ship!

Be up on deck 11 to watch sailaway.. we loved the area aft by the waterworks. Watch the funnel as you go under the bridge WOW...Awesome;)

Tea time is on sea days in the Piano Bar deck 8 forward at 3:00pm.

Threads to reviews and pictures of Fascination.Enjoy...

  5. According to my PVP, the free cruises were offered to people who've had high Sail & Sign Accounts at some point in time, and who haven't cruised in a long time (an incentive to get these high spenders to return to Carnival).

I guess your example proves that what my PVP said is not accurate.

No not accurate at all! I never gamble and my sign and sail bill is not high, don't book excursions or spend on Jewelry. I'm Platinum just sailed in Jan. and have another one book in May before this offer arrived.I'm from Georgia and VIFP# starts with 70. It also states on the letter New Offers will be added daily! Good Luck...;)

  6. February 11th and I saw that other posters here got free cabins; so I thought WTH why not check? I logged in and low and behold NOTHING for my VIFP number. But when I checked DH's...WOOHOO! Happy Birthday to me! (FEB 12 BTW) I called him and said we are going on a cruise! We did get a letter that same afternoon at the house.

My question regarding this, DH's VIFP begins with 07 and he gets all kinds of offers, while mine begins with 09 and I never get anything. One of my co-workers got one and her number begins with 07 too. Anyone else with a free cabin with some number other than the 07?

Mine starts with 70 maybe its "Lucky 7's" .. this is an offer from Carnival. I do not visit the casino or have a high Sign & Sail bill. I'm Platinum.. Got mine in the mail about 2 weeks ago.. had to book by March 3,2014 for Spring and Summer offers...and thought "No Way" can i book another one since i sailed Nov,Jan and have another one booked in May! Weeelllll....it only showed sailings from Miami on my offers and that would not work, looked again today and found page after page of offers! Woo Hoo..sailing from Charleston on the Fantasy for June an easy 3 hour drive for $228 total.. upgraded to Oceanview for $25pp plus tax. Another option was Jacksonville a 4 hr. drive. So if you didn't get this offer in the Mail still check your VIPF Offers on Carnival.com.;)

  7. Thanks for the info and it's great that you just got back! Hope you had a great trip. Did you use the jetwayparking this year? Is the jetwayparking lot secure? Also, our trip is from a Saturday to Thursday with Nassau and Half Moon Cay - was yours the same itinerary just different days?

I'm wanting to find some copies of the Funtimes to know what time shows and so forth are so we will know what to do about our dinner time.

    Thanks!

We had an Awesome time!;) No we parked at the port and it was great, faster to board (dropped off luggage at terminal) then parked and faster to get us on the road after getting off. Worth the extra money for us for the convience.

Sorry i didn't bring the Fun Times home with me.If you want to be flexable see if you can get Anytime Dinning then you can go eat before or after a show.I know the Welcome Aboard Show will be the first night at 10:00 or so. They do have early shows for late seating dinners and late shows for early dinning other nights.

  8. Don't miss the Deli at the Coconut Grove Buffet at the aft of the ship.. great sandwiches i take some horseradish to go with the Ruben.. Yummmm....Pizza Pirate and the soft serve ice cream are open 24 hours. I also take a bottle of Teriyake sauce to pour on the Mongolian vegies before handing it to the cooks.Their sauces don't appeal to me.. one is very spicy and i have them add just a touch of that.

Tea time is on sea days at 3:00pm in the Piano Bar right outside the Sensation Dining Room on deck 8 forward.

When checking in be sure to pick up a fold out deck plan. They also have them at Guest Services.

  9. Hi all! Need a little help from those of you who have cruised on the Fascination.

I'm a planner - a real planner - drive my family nuts. We just booked this cruise today and we leave on Feb. 8th. I've never booked a cruise less than 9 months out so I've always had lots of time to plan. My husband had a heart attack in December and is still out of work so we decided to do a short cruise before he has to go back. We have 4 friends joining us. This is the first time in 19 years that we have gone on a vacation without any of our 4 children. All of us are leaving our kids home for an adults only vacation. Anyway, need some info on the ship and Jacksonville port area and parking.

We are on a tight budget so we booked an OV on Riviera deck. I'm understanding that these rooms do not have a sofa - is this true? What about opening the safe - old credit card or is it a code you enter?

Is paying for Faster to the Fun worth it? We have 3 cabins so that would be $150 for all of us and we're not sure it's worth it since the Fascination doesn't carry that many passengers to begin with.

How many formal nights on her 5 day cruise and which night(s) will it be if anyone knows?

We were wait listed for early dining which is what we have always had. Anyone else ever been wait listed and what usually happens? My TA told me if we didn't get early we might be shifted to the anytime dining and I'm not sure I'd be happy with that.

Anything about the Fascination that people really don't like or we should avoid and on the flip side - anything we shouldn't miss? We've never sailed on a ship as small as this one - so we really don't know what to expect.

We have 2 first time cruisers going with us and they've always heard us brag about Carnival and I'm hoping they aren't disappointed.

Need info about parking off site. We will probably be having to drive 2 cars down so we don't really want to pay the $15/day at the port. We do want something secure that offers timely shuttles to and from the port though. Parked at an offsite in Tampa once and had to wait in the hot sun forever to get to the ship.

I'm sure I have more questions, but I can't remember them all right now - any help any of you have will be greatly appreciated.

Cruised Jan 20-25 on the Fascination.

Safe is Credit Card swipe not key pad.

http://jetwayparking.com/- off site low rate parking

https://www.vipparknride.com/- we used VIP in 2013. They did load the van up before taking us to the port took about an hour total. 10 to 15 min ride to port. they do not start the shuttle service until around 11:30am.

They do have a covered area and chairs to get out of the sun.

Lot is secure. Had a van waiting on us when we disembarked.

Lunch in the Sensation Dinning Room is not the Comedy Brunch, they do not have Crunchy French Toast or any of the Brunch Menu but do have a regular French Toast for Breakfast.

  10. quick question. we are on the Valor in 45 days. 1st time on Carnival. we have been on Princess & RCCL. on those ships there are places where you can go to pickup "snacks" - pastries-sandwiches-and such at no charge. are there places on the Carnival ships that have the same?

Pastries, and snacks are served on the Lido.. Breakfast, Lunch And Dinner times all free of charge. We take zip lok bags to take some back to our room for late night snacks.;)

  11. I'll be back later on today to continue posting photos of the review. It is -18 below here today with -45 below wind chill and now to top it off we have lost electricity. Whoa Boy it's starting to get cold in the house

Stay warm Wrigley! Hope you get your power back soon! i'm enjoying your review very much and can't wait for the Sunshine review to follow as we sail in May on sunshine.

  12. For the folks that have done FTTF......do they have refreshments in the vip lounge...while you wait to board?? Just wanted to know if i need to carry a bottle of water around with me......will be on the Fascination in a few wks.:)

There is only small room to go into to register and get your sign and sail card no refreshments or VIP lounge in Jacksonville. The area right outside this room is the Diamond and Platium sitting area ( just a group of chairs) past this is for FTTF. So you will need to bring water with you! ;)

  13. So what can I do for sea sickness? I had it on the last cruise... not sure if i will get it again. I have some peppermint essential oil, some benadryl, and dramamine. Any other advice or things to take with me??

Ginger Root capsules sold at Walmart in the vitamin section.. look on bottom shelf ( this is where i find then in my store mine are 550 mg.) around $5 for 100 capsules. Take on in morning amd one in evening 7 days before and during your cruise .

Or ginger ale , ginger candy, saltine crackers or green apple will help settle a quizy stomach.

I also take Papaya Enzymes Pills to help with digestion after a heavy meal it will also help a quizy or crampy stomach.

Sea Bands help some people but have not tried them myself.

  14. Would anyone who is sailing with Carnival soon mind picking me up a couple bars of their little, round white soap that they have in the state room bathrooms?

I KNOW this is an odd request, but I have problem skin and have tried everything from expensive products to cheap ones and for some reason that soap really helps me! My face is healing very well...

I won't be sailing again this year and I know what I have won't last until I do again.

I'd repay any postage or whatever.

Thanks! Like I said, I know this is a odd request.... I wouldn't normally ask anything like this but it's helping me so much I thought what the heck.

Hi CSI Melissa, I will be crusing on Jan. 30th. I'll bring all I can home and email you when I get back for your address!:D
