Definitely call (or have your TA call) Princess. What you want to do is called a route-sector. They will fill out some paperwork and the powers-that-be will say yea or nay within a couple of days.
-
just curious, can you use OBC to purchase tokens for the laundry? (I know its a very small amount, just curious)
If you're using your cruise card to buy tokens, then yes...
-
We have only had issues with the port people twice. Both times it was in San Pedro. That place is messed up.
YMMV, we've never had a problem in San Pedro and have sailed out of there many times.
-
Princess did the $1 deposit thing last Cyber Monday, so I would assume they are doing it this year too.
-
I do find if funny that some folks are saying they'll go to a different cruise line when most, if not all, mainstream lines have the same policy.
-
Absolutely....

I was very surprised to receive a welcome email from Princess today. It was welcoming me for my first cruise on Princess. They also were extending an OBC of different money prices for length of cruises if taken in 60 days. This was very nice of them, however, the cruise we just came from was our 10th Princess cruise. I didn't bother to notify anyone about the error. I thought it to be a little funny. Has this ever happened to you??
Have a nice day.
I would wager that you have two Captain Circle numbers... :)

Does anybody read the website?
"Cancellation of Pre-Paid Shore Excursions:
If you have pre-paid a shore excursion and wish to cancel, the following shall also apply:
If a pre-paid shore excursion is cancelled five (5) days or more prior to sailing a refund of the pre-paid amount will be made in one of the following ways:
1) If there is a shore excursion balance for the guest named on the reservation being cancelled then the pre-paid amount shall be applied to this balance.
Or,
2) If there is no shore excursion balance for the guest named on the reservation being cancelled then the pre-paid amount will be refunded to the credit card used to pre-pay the shore excursion. Refunds in this instance will be made within 24 hours of cancellation. If the guest for whom the pre-paid excursion is being cancelled makes another shore excursion reservation within 24 hours of cancellation, the refund will be applied to the newly made reservation.
If a pre-paid shore excursion is not cancelled within the above time frame or is cancelled during the voyage prior to the "Closing Time for Cancellation" listed for the particular excursion you wish to cancel, then the pre-paid amount will be refunded to the guest named on the pre-paid reservation as a shipboard credit on this guest's shipboard folio. Please note this is done regardless of which guest pre-paid for the shore excursion."
And while the above policy does not specifically state that the OBC is refundable, it surely is as is any OBC that is purchased by the passenger...

I got a call back from Viking - they had contacted the supplier. None of the watches come with instructions because all they do is keep time. All the extra dials and buttons are totally useless - just for show.
At least the fancy bottle opener that came with the watch is usable.
You get what you pay for. . . . most of the time!
Yes...see post #3 in this thread... :p

Now I'm baffled. It says this is 106 days which isn't as long as the 111 day world cruise on the Pacific Princess. How can this be the longest?
Maybe it's just the way I read it. Maybe what it's saying is it's the longest from Australia.
Yeah, probably the longest from Australia...

WHERE should we go for best cocktails before and after dinner?
Crooners...

The credit remains in your "bank" at Princess for use at a later time. You might be able to get customer relations to add the remaining as OBC. Do be aware that most credits have an expiration date.
Pretty sure, unless the policy changed. We had booked one of the "get your cruise fare back as an OBC" promotions a few years ago on a West Coast cruise. We used the FCC on another cruise which paid for the cruise in it's entirety. We were able to refare the cruise later and the price dropped and something like $30 went back into our "bank" which we used on another cruise.

I have a Future Cruise Credit (not future cruise deposit) from a canceled cruise. (platinum insurance, cancel for any reason).
The future cruise credit amount exceeds the fare of next planned cruise.
The excess is like 75 USD. What happens with the excess? Can it roll over to an onboard credit? Does the excess remain as a credit for a different future cruise? Is the credit just lost?
Thanks.

A friend of mine was upgraded from an oceanview cabin to a Window Suite recently. :)

Have to say...thoroughly enjoyed our dinner in Crown Grill, sitting near the Wheelhouse bar and hearing the Band play their Sets throughout our meal....it added to the ambiance of our meal to enjoy the band and such.....
So, call us a one off ( we expect to enjoy the same on our next Royal sailing) or adapt to what the Royal class ships offer. We were really happy to hear the music and take it in while dining..... To each their own I guess.
We also enjoyed the music during dinner on Regal Princess. Bayou Café on Island/Coral also have live music during dinner time. Very nice.

But the question I asked was:
Does the tip money on this ship get shared with workers on other ships? No
No...the tip money is pooled from all the ships and then allocated back to the eligible crew.

Another suggestion to make to them is that they might consider adding no prepayment reservations to either Elite or Platinum status.
I like this suggestion...:)

We also always pre-reserve in order to get the tours we want and they are charged to our onboard account. Our OBC offsets most of those charges. The potential problem is if we cannot pre-reserve without having to pay at time of reservation. We have b2b2b cruises booked starting in August and have already pre-reserved tours on all 3 of them. I asked the rep what would happen to those -- and she did not have an answer. That is why I am asking if anyone on this forum has a definitive answer about this possible change in Princess policy.
John
If you've already pre-reserved shore excursions for next year, they are grandfathered in. Princess is not going to ask you to pay for them now.
-
And you'd still have to pay for the entire cruise...

When Global Fine Arts was still in business, we purchased a couple of original oil paintings. We've had them appraised and are quite satisfied with our investment. I'm not sure that I'd buy anything from Park West since it all seems like prints, very few originals.

They had my home airport as San Jose (CA). I live in New Mexico.
If you call in to book, they ask for your gateway city. If you book with a TA, the gateway may default to the TA's city. If you book online, your ISP may be in a different city and the gateway will default to that city. All it takes to change it (if you want to...) is to call Princess or have your TA do it.
-
This is an odd question, and likely inconsequential, but I am curious. The Cruise Personalizer section, under Princess EZ Air, lists my airport as TLH, which I had to look up to see that it means Tallahassee. I have never used that airport, and never expect to, so how in the world would it have wound up on my Personalizer page? Explanations or theories, anyone? (The actual flight itinerary is listed correctly, so I assume there's no real problem.)
Did you book with a TA? They might be somewhere near Tallahassee and didn't change the gateway to your city.

I saw a column for "Initial Amenity Points".
I know what amenities are, but can anyone explain the point system?
Amenity points are awarded to travel agents who sell groups. They can be redeemed for additional amenities for their clients (wine, specialty restaurants, etc.).

When I'm traveling with a group of friends who have never cruised or have never cruised Princess, then yes, we'll stop and pose and purchase later.
post office seems to have lost our passports

'course, depending on the cruise, the OP may not actually need passports if all else fails. If they're sailing out of the US on a closed-loop cruise, they can get by with just a driver's license and certified birth certificate (although the passport is more desirable in case they need to fly home for some reason).
