  1. Big Al, a cruise friend of mine recently toured the Divina and mentioned to me that when he passed through the Pool with the retractable cover he did not see any lounge chairs or seating in general. For those of you that have been on the Divina is this true and if so what did you do:cool: if you wanted to sit around that pool?

  2. My wife and I and are two friends are cruising in Nov. to Cartagena and would love to hear back from anyone that has been there in the last 4-6 months. Tour info, what to see, and any info on tour agencies and how to get in touch with them. I'm trying to build my wife's comfort level with the idea of traveling in Columbia (Cartagena)

  3. Is there anyone out there who has been to Cristobal Panama and who can give me the total low down on this port and what they did there and when they were there. We will be stopping there on our 10 day Divina cruise and looking for as much info as we can get to decide what we will do there on our visit.

  4. Enjoyed reading your cruise review for the Divina. My wife and I and two of our friends are booked on the Divina for a Nov. 10 day cruise. This will be our 15 cruise and first for this cruise line. Read a lot of positive reviews which were enough for us to getting us booked on this ship. What shows did you go to? What was your cabin like and was it a balcony? Did you go to Falmouth? Any other things you feel you can pass along that might be helpful please pass them along.

  5. My wife and I are booked on the Nov. 12, 10 day Divina cruise and I know it early but I have this question for anyone who has already cruised on the Divina. Are any reservations required either prior to the cruise or during the cruise for any of the shows or entertainment venues?

  6. Great review! Did you see the Michael Jackson show? Please review. Just booked a 10 day on the Divina for this Nov. and reviews like this one are good to see. How was it getting a lounge chair by the pools? I hate when people try to reserve them early am by placing a towel on the chairs. If were going to book another cruise for the near future would the Divina be high on your list?

  7. Though I have never been on the GOTS I have been on 14 cruises with the smallest ship being the Celebrity Summit all the way up to the Oasis. You are not comparing Apples to Apples. I have been on the Breakaway and there is so much to do on it for both the adults and the kids that its a no brainer. I believe your most likely leaving from New York. Leaving from the city was so easy. Parked my car next to the ship at the terminal and was able to get right on and right off the ship and out of the city in no time. The entertainment is going to be far superior to the GOTS. I will not get into the pluses about having a balcony cabin vs inside cabin right now. Your most likely in Bermuda 2 days vs three days with NCL. Bermuda is a wonderful island with lots to see from beautiful beaches to historic sites. I prefer the three days better. I have been to Bermuda both in May and in June and May can be a lot cooler and June is better beach weather. You can go by van to the beaches or take the water taxi to Hamilton. St. Georges is a great place to visit and a must see.. Good Luck!

  8. Was there last week. Walk or take the shuttle to the beginning of the doc and there is a tent where they will take you and pick you up from Christiansted for $16pp. Very easy and it takes 25 minutes to get to Christiansted and is 17 miles from Fredricksted. Have fun. We did.

  9. The answer is it is a wonderful beach to go with friends or families as well as by yourself if that was the case. It's in between Dawn Beach and Orient Beach but Galion is very well protected by the Breaker reef which is quite a distance away. The water is warm clear and like glass. There is some eel grass but it is no big deal.No rocks or shells to step on and the beach attended was great. We were there on Valentines Day and not too sound to corney but we feel in love withe entire facility. Very few ship passengers, bathroom and changing facilities. Nice little rest. where you can sit and eat with shade from the sun. We all had burgers and baskets of fries. One basket is enough for two people. Do not get scarred when you see the bill since it.s it Euros. A burger is about $10 bucks. The four of us ate for $60 with drinks (beer) and sodas and topped it off with ice cream. The burgers were very good. Pat Turner owns the place and it's called "Tropical Wave" at Galion Beach. It's about 25 minutes from the cruise port and a cab or van can atke you there and back for $20.00 for two. You and the family will have a great time there. By the way, Bella the black lab is great. I played with her for 45 min. Get some bread and in little pieces throw into the water. The fish will come and Bella will chase them. It's a blast.

  10. Just got off of the Adventurer of the Seas last Sunday and out second night out we ate in Portofino's. My wife and I have been on fourteen cruises and enjoy going to the specialty restaurants because the difference is like going to dinner vs Ruth Chris steak house. It's not that all MDR food is bad it's just not as good as the Specialty rest. This was the same case with Portofino's. Service was terrific and so was the food. If your expecting to see a lot of southern Italy red sauce meals for get it. The lambs chops I had were some of the best ever. Appetizers were way above what you get in the MDR and desserts were to die for. Bottom line is Go for It!:cool:

  11. Just got off of the Adventure this past Sunday. Food was okay but not as good as it has been in the past. Service in the Windjammer was very good with someone always asking us if we need coffee or a refill or drinks. Service at the pool was fine but if did walk up to the bar sometimes you had to wait your turn. This is always to be expected. Our balcony cabin was always taken care of and if I needed something it was done ASAP. No cold water from faucet or shower. It was way to warm and uncomfortable. Portofino's was great. Deserts in the MDR were mediocre. Bed mattress was terrible even with a topper. They will be replacing them soon. This was our third cruise on this ship and 14th overall.

  12. Has anyone that has been to Barbados been to the Nidhe Israel Synagogue? We will be in Bridgetown next Tuesday and want to know if it is worth seeing. Is it far from the cruise port?

  13. Thanks Rockapulco for your response. It looks like that is where we will go. We want to get away from all the locals selling there wares on the beaches and with a beach, pool, food and chairs it sounds perfect. Thanks, again!

  14. Traveling to Barbados on AOTS Feb 9th. Looking for a nice quiet beach, chairs available, lunch available, restrooms, small surf, no bothersome locals and what you would consider totally enjoyable. A day pass facility would be great but every recommendation would be considered in the decision. Thanks ahead.

  15. There will be four of us traveling on the AOTS also on the Feb. 9th cruise. Was in Barbados about 7 years ago and I believe we went to Malibu Beach or was it that I drank a lot of Malibu Rum there. There seems to be a lot of talk of the Boatyard. good beach?

  16. denandben, thanks for your post but as potential cruises for this ship and cruise line we really need to know more info. How was the service? How was the food? What kind and how was your cabin? I do not really care about elevators. I and others are more interested in the ship and what it has to offer us as cruises from other lines who would like to try this cruise line here in the US. Thanks. Heeb:cool:

  17. There are four of us that will be in St Maartin in Feb. and we want to go to Le Galion Beach. Last time I posted this request someone replied that the Tropical Wave run by Chez Pat is the place to contact at this beach. I went to their website and wrote to their email 6 times and it does not go through. Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so have you come up with a solution? Thanks-you.
