  1. Today the cost of a balcony is not much more that a outside cabin with a window but what a difference it can make to you for your entire cruise. Breakfast out on the balcony when your at see is incredible. I agree with everything that Big Al said. I have cruised with my wife 13 times and we will be on the Adventure in Feb. and all cruises have been in a balcony cabin. Even if I was to leave NY in the winter I still would get a balcony. I know I will have it when I get down to warmer weather. If you have never done the balcony before just try it once and you will be hooked. It's all part of the cruise experience.

  2. My wife and I and friends will be cruising on the Adventure of the Seas in Feb. We have a 9:45am flight back from San Juan to Philly on the return. My question is do they do customs on the ship prior to San Juan like the day before or do they do it at the port? We will need to do a walk off the ship to get a cab and get to the airport in time to make our flight. If you have been on the cruise recently and you have the answer thank-you.

  3. I agree with Gary and add that I have heard that the snorkelling by the rocks at Dawn Beach is decent when the water is not too rough. I have never snorkeled at Dawn beach because the water has always been too rough for that during my visits. We have never had close to decent snorkelling anywhere at Le Galion beach but like the islanders, I love this beach.

When you went to Le Gallion Beach how did you get there?

Boy, those are two quite different beaches.

Dawn Beach is quite lovely, but in my opinion has been horribly over-developed. It certainly has a great view, but it faces the open Atlantic and is regularly almost too rough to enter the water. If it is a relatively calm day then it can be nice.

Le Galion is beautiful, your vision of a Caribbean Beach, and usually as calm and smooth as a baby's bottom. It is known on the island as Baby Beach.

Thanks for the response. The latter will be our choice.
  5. Ok this will be my second cruise with NCL, but my first time on the Breakaway (04/13/14). I already know that things like alcohol, soda, and specialty restaurants, spa, bingo, ect..... have an additional fee, I also know most entertainment on the cruises is free, but I am reading that there are some bars and clubs that charge admission. Also are all the shows free, Even the broadway ones? If any one knows, can they breakdown the prices of the extras that no one really talks about? Thanks so much in advance!

You stated most of them except for the Ice Bar was extra to get into. and if you want to see the Cirque de solei show in the Speigel tent it is an extra charge but minimum and well worth it. The four of us had a good meal with plenty of large shrimp and steak. Show was excellent. Everything in Carlos Bakery you have to pay for and let's not forget bottled water as an extra. This is all no different than any other ship or cruise line.
