  1. You don’t get out for nowt these days I am afraid. Yes, you have to pay for reserved seats in PE. From memory the price quoted by a previous poster is (or was) correct. We like the cabin for the wider seats and if 2-4-2 we can sit together. I hate having to sit in the middle seats in economy. Yes you get priority security and lots of nice food and drink on the plane. But it is not in the extra penalty we pay for travelling from Manchester instead of Gatwick.
  2. Good morning. Anyone else trying to book flight seats in premium economy for Britannia cruise B 229 flying out of Manchester on 16 December? We have been trying since 1 minute past midnight followed by numerous attempts this morning. Spoken to TA who say that you have to book with P&O direct and they (P&O) do not take bookings over the phone. So you have to use the website. We have had this problem before and it is totally unacceptable. We are of course within the 14 weeks prior to departure. Anybody got any ideas??
  3. We have done around 5 MSC cruises. They are OK but you have got to be happy being surrounded by mainly excitable Italians and screaming Italian kids. Wouldn’t go on MSC again unless it is in the yacht club which was excellent with excellent food and free drinks.

    Flights

I have just checked as we are going from Manchester on 16 December. The flight details are showing but no facility to book yet. Presumably Megabear means this coming Friday the 9th.
  5. No we have 2 aisle seats not in row 11 or 12. We don’t do window or middle on 3-aisle-3.
  6. They would have to have Sport24 to be able to get live premiership games. P&O have this and also Emirates. Sorry
  7. Thanks guys. I have sorted it. We had chosen to select seats and have now paid for them .plane is 737 800 so if there is one seat you don’t want it is 11A, not that TUI would tell you that👹
  8. We are due to fly from Manchester to Las Palmas in early November to join Explorer. Can anyone tell me when I can book our plane seats? thanks
  9. Here here Jean. Couldn’t agree more.
  10. Yes, Megabear, it seems that you like us were on the Ventura’s maiden Christmas and New Year cruise when all sorts of “scallies “ were on board for very little money as a result of cancellations after the financial crash. There was excitement every day!!
  11. It is all very puzzling. I can remember booking a 2 week package on P&O back in 2010/2011 for about £60. It was absolutely fine. The only thing you had to remember was to log out after you had done what you wanted. Why is that type of package not available now? Also, several other cruise lines are offering Free WiFi. How do they do it and why can’t P&O?
  12. When we were on Azura at Christmas and New Year (2021) we signed up for their internet as we like to download the newspaper. The service was appalling and apart from anything else they did not have an internet advisor on the ship. We got our money back and had to rely on WiFi at ports. Things might have improved now after 6 months but don’t bank on it.
  13. We had a flyer through the post fro P&O today which invites the reader to look inside for “deals too good to miss”. So we did. Apart from the ad for Azura in the Canaries in October/November which quotes select price from £799, we couldn’t find any prices for the other cruises in the flyer. Plenty of information about the OBC so are the fares free gratis? Any thoughts?
  14. Hi all. We have done several Dubai fly cruises and been to Persian gulf, Bahrain, most of Far East and used P&O, Cunard, and MSC. all excellent and Dubai is a good transit point if you don’t want a mega long flight. happy cruising
  15. A memorable situation comes to mind on a P&O Christmas cruise when a family were put off the ship in St Vincent on New Years Day. For those who do not know, SV on NYD is DEAD so the family will have had a lot of “fun” finding flights to get home! For those who think Marella is inferior, I know they are wrong.
  16. If a package then P&O usually use TUI flights which use their Dreamliner planes. You can travel in economy or premium economy. Your luggage allowance and facilities on the plane depend on which you choose but be aware that premium attracts a hefty extra cost.
  17. We have been doing Christmas and New Year every year since 2006. First one was on the old QE2 but the rest have all been on P&O in the Caribbean except for one year when we did Celebrity out of Miami ( this was the worst, all the others have been great). We are booked for this year and next year on Britannia. Why spend the time in the UK with rubbish weather when you can chill out on deck or your balcony in nice warmth. Go for it. You won’t regret it!! pS ships are beautifully decorated.
  18. We are thinking of taking a cruise from Southampton. As we live in Cheshire, we don’t really want to have to drive ourselves and have been looking at Eavesway who can pick up from 2 places quite close to us. Can anyone give any feedback on Eavesway. Are they reliable? Will the ship wait if the coach is delayed??
