  1. I  know the employees get to use the bikes store near their cabins. We took a tour of the ship where the employees

work , eat and sleep and captain offices . Food is prepared and all the laundry done. Costs up $100. each. It is once

in a life time to see.

But  I am not so sure I would ride around in most of the islands alone. It isn't too safe.

But would love to do it    Otherwise .

  2. WE GOT A phone call from RC also for the exact week. We booked it while there Feb 1st of this year. It is because of

the Super Bowl and the particular company wanted to whole ship to charter. It really didn't surprise us.    Because they

said  the first 8 floors were booked by a company. I suppose that company decided to just book it all.

Money talks and BS walks as they say.

I got the same lousy deal as you $100 each.  on board credit for the next cruise. We are going the week before.

My biggest problem was I booked a room the night before ($500) and didn't guarantee it. I never do that why I did this

time I don't know. We try to go through Hotel.com to see if they would just let us stay the week before. Hotel.com said

they called the hotel and was refused. I don't believe Hotel.com at all. The room was cut down to $200. but they wouldn't

give back my money.  A lesson learned here. We booked another room from priceline.com that is much nicer.

It is fun to  be on the ships watching the Super Bowl. They have all kinds of food to eat there. We have been on two

RC cruises during the game but being a new ship I suppose the rich companies get first priority.

I hadn't gotten our airplane tickets yet so that was something I didn't have to worry about. I don't even know if

we could of gotten any flights or not anyway. the super bowl is in Miami next year so that is why the hotel

prices are sky high. Traffic will be crazy too.

I feel sorry for those that are still working and need to find another date. And going with a group could be

    a nightmare too. Good luck.

  3. You couldn't tell a hurricane hit anywhere near Key West a few weeks after the hurricane. If you are visiting on a cruise, you would never know, especially now. It's totally normal and has been for quite a long time. I stayed several nights in Key West in January. Completely normal.

wHERE did you stay while there? What hotels?

  4. I was on both ships too. They had each one of us play the slot tournament twice. Then added our scores. Then the top ones got to play again .forgot how many. Maybe 100. Then we played one more time. There the top 50 or 60 people won $1000. First place $25,000.

They did this the second day. I guess so we could spend our winnings in the casino the rest of the week.LOL. It was fun and super loud event.

Don't forget to look up the free ice cream cones. It is yogurt. Chocolate was the best. Just a little tidbit.

    Oh and ask the casino

If you qualify for free drinks. They Don't volunteer that formation.

That ship was to be remodeled this summer. It was getting to be pretty outdated. I thought the public bathrooms were awful. Exposed pipes and nasty floors.

You will have fun. Let us all know how you did. It is just pure luck if you win.

  5. I had to pay hotel, insurance, cab, tips, and airfare for the 5 day trip.We had an inside room which we both hated. If we wanted to have a balcony $1000. Extra. So we just stayed in the inside room.

    That was the down side.

145 people were in the tournament. That was fun. Didn't win the $25,000. But did win $1000. The top 60 people won $1000. each.

I also had free drinks all week. I only had one drink. Asked for water Instead. They thought I was crazy.

We had a good time. We had already booked another cruise a month later. That is one reason we didn't know to do the free cruise. We are retired so we had the freedom to do both cruises.

  6. We just got off the independence of the Sea Friday. It is an older ship and really needs to be

remodeled. I thought the public bathrooms were a mess. They had been cleaned but needed repairs. I heard they are going to remodel in May and June. So lucky for you.

We stayed in the inside cabin under the Windjammer Cafe. Never heard any noises at night.

But we really hated staying in the inside. We will be back on a balcony in Jan. on another ship.

Each ship offers something different. We prefer the newest and biggest ships because it has

more choices of everything from food to entertainment. And alot more modern. I probably wouldn't pick this ship ever again. Some people were really upset it was so outdated.

I prefer the track on the Oasis style ships. I am 67 years old. This ship the track was on the top deck with all the public traffic which is hard to get steps in dodging all the other people.

Only reason I was on this ship was I won it in a slot tournament. I did get to be in another

slot tournament with winners from other ships. I walked off with $1000. prize. One person won

    $25,000.00 top prize.

Hope your health improves and you beat the cancer. And your family enjoys the cruise with you.

  7. Won $1000. and alot of smaller wins. I too spend alot of time in the casinos. I don't drink so I spend my well earn income I saved up to go on the cruise. I only spend what I can afford to lose. It is entertainment for us. Plus we have met several other couples we later kept in contact with.

I also won the slot tournament for a free cruise in Dec.on the Harmony. There I could win $50,000.00 in prizes. Problem with free is not really free. Taxes, insurance, tips, hotel, flights are not included. And it is only a 5 day cruise. I wasn't going to go but changed my mind. Oh, it is only an inside room as well. If we want a balcony add on another $1000.

And yes I too have had nights I didn't win a red cent.

  8. We have been on 5 cruises with RC. And this ship was our favorite of all of them. Others Oasis and Harmony and allure .

We always go in Jan or Feb which is a big mistake leaving out of N.J. We were in a snow storm going there and faced it

coming back. So 4 days were lost to being out doors . And for that reason we probably will never be on it again. Move to

Fla and I would go back. Trying to fly out of N.J. wasn't fun either. Most of the airlines cancelled out.

  9. ok I won my so call free cruise trip to play the Royal Slot Tour Satellite Tournament in Dec. Anyone ever won and went on to try

    for the $50,000?

This is how free it is.

I paid for insurance, taxes, required gratuities and taxes to the government for local state and federal taxes afterwards.

It is only a 5 day cruise. Inside room only. If I want a balcony it is another $1000.00!

I have to pay to fly plus get a hotel room the night before. I am also paying for a soda package and internet.

We are going to go with the inside room since it is only 5 days. I wasn't even going to go but wanted to see just what they

do on a major slot tournament.

  10. yes, I have won $1000. on cruise ships. The last cruise in Jan. 2017 I won a free cruise playing in a slot tournament . 5 day cruise only. But I will be in a tournament that I can win up to $50,000. But free isn't really free. I still have to pay taxes, insurance, air fare, hotel room and tips. I wasn't going to go then I thought what the heck. Oh, the room is an inside one only. If I get a balcony add on another $1000.00. So free I am not sold on it.

I do get free drinks on the next cruise and also got it on the last cruise. ( only in the casino) I don't even drink.

will let you know in Dec. if I won anything on this special cruise.

I did see a guy win $2000.00 in the casino in Jan. And yes they came out with the forms to pay taxes.

  11. yes, I have won $1000. on cruise ships. The last cruise in Jan. 2017 I won a free cruise playing in a slot tournament . 5 day cruise only. 12. I was with a group of 5. We went to see Cats as well. All of us left an hour into it. To me every song sounded the same. Boring. Ages 12 years

old to 67 in our group.

I walked the track each day . I wear a fitbit so I like to get 10 miles in a day. I am 67 years old. The rest of our group went swimming.

You will not be bored . Just way to much to do. We only ate in the restaurants included with the price of the trip.

We spent alot of time at night in the casino and playing bingo. I won a free cruise on the slot tourament.

Nice to meet people from all walks of life as well. Have fun

  13. I searched past posts about insurance (medical) for senior citizens but they are all out dated. I am looking for what

senior citizens buy to cover for health insurance while out of the country? We just turned 67 and no longer have

    company insurance.

Please will you share the company you use and if you ever collected from them in the past. I want to know if evacuation

is included. Not worried about if I get my money back for cancelling the trip because I buy the ship insurance.

I had a friend ended up with $80,000.00 hospital bill and dr. in a foreign country. She had to stay there until she was

well enough to come home. I am not poor but I would be if I had to pay those kinds of bills.

  14. I won the slot tournament on Harmony a week ago. So I get to go on a free cruise Dec.2ed. Has anyone been in

in the slot tournament championship at the end of the year? It is only a 5 day cruise. I just wondered if they do anything

different other than just playing slots. Do they give out prizes for 2ed and 3rd place?

Not so sure how free it is in the end.

  15. I won the slot tournament last week on the Harmony. I am having second thoughts about taking it.

I was under the impression there would be only one ship at the end of the year doing the tournament.

Found out they are also having one on the Allure. I am going to be on the Independence of the Sea.

So far it still sounds exciting. But the more I have been investigating it I am not so sure.

I called to make arrangements to book the trip. It is for an inside room. If I want the balcony it is

another $1000. I can live with the inside room. Then I find out it is only a 5 day cruise. Not liking that.

I have to pay for a plane trip for 2 plus find a hotel room . If I have those expenses I want at least a 7 day trip. We also are in the casino every night. $$$$.

Still have to pay taxes , fees and insurance.

We already have another cruised booked in Jan. for 7 days and really don't want to cancel that.

What I am wondering is has anyone on this site ever won a free cruise with the slots? Was it worth going? Or free really isnt free in the end?

I think they mislead alot of people into playing the slot tournament thinking the winner can pick a cruise and date. One guy kept asking what if you can't make that particular date? tough out of luck.

Would love to hear from other winners

  16. Do you have to pay for the kids clubs on the cruise or are they included mine are age 8 plus

Our grandson was the one who wanted to go to his age group after 10:00. He was 11 years old. They did charge us but it wasn't too much. He thought it was a big deal he could check him self in and out and be out that late at night. We were lucky the room was only a few feet away from our cabin.

We didn't suggest it because he might not of wanted to go. During the day he was in the pool almost 100% of the time. Or eating. Shows I don't think he was impressed with. Again we gave him the choice to decide what and where he wanted to go. Worked out for all of us.

We only had one child with us so no problems the whole week. Two or more kids might be a handful being they get braver doing their own thing I guess.

  17. 13 years diabetic. i went to classes. I eat better than I have in years. And

wear a fitbit to keep track of my steps. i exercise every day. The ships has walking /running tracks which would be nice to have hear at home.

I even walked the halls late at night on the ships to get my steps in. Guess what I see others doing the same thing.

I prefer the buffet because I can get fruit and vegs. there . I am not into fancy foods any way.

I use Loseit.com to count my calories and fitbit to keep track of my steps and exercises. Lost 45 pds. She will always be a diabetic but keeping it under control is a must.

    have fun on your trip

  18. We can't take food to Canada either. My son had a big Mac he bought in Canada and was going back to the US when the boarder patrol made him throw it away. We were told no food allowed . We didn't realize it was an issue.

I agree with the others find healthy food at the local tourist spot. If you can't find any just go back on the ship and eat. You are free to leave and go back.

I only eat food on the ship due to the cost off the ship. and I too prefer

healthier foods. I like the buffet over the nightly restaurants because I can get fruit and vegs.My husband doesn't agree . He eats it all.

  19. Does anyone know if they are still doing the day room deal? Or do we need to book the full overnight price? It will be for post cruise, early April, flight leaves Fll at 8.40pm. thanks for any info or other suggestions. Add to say, this is for my parents who are in their 80's and not interested in day tours, they are coming off a Celebrity cruise, and just want a place to relax, watch tv, have a bite to eat etc, before heading to the airport around 6pm. thanks for any info or alternative suggestions.:)

You have to take a cab everywhere you go from Rodeway. Me, I would find another hotel. Stayed there once and never again. Nothing is in walking distance. I have a list of 50 reasons to find somewhere else. But since I don't have anything nice to say I will shut up.
