We were on the Allure in Jan. and was told over 500 kids were on it. A lot of foreign kids have their school break. But we never really thought many were on board. They do other activities than what we did. And most of the shows we went to they didn't even come to.

 

We saw Chicago which wasn't a play for kids any way. That was the Allure or

Oasis . Forgot which one.

 

I would be more worried about drunk college kids.

My four cruises were out of Fla. Which included Allure and Oasis. This time

we are going out of NJ in Jan. I am not crazy about it. Not after the crappy weather we are having now. I sure hope the new ship is worth it. I doubt we will ever go to NJ again.

 

WEll, LET you know after Feb. what happens.

I go to my cruise all the time and no problem. I haven't finish checking in yet. How do I finish it without going to my cruises? Should I just call them and do it over the phone?

how do you get your sea pass card? Do they send it in the mail ahead of time?

If you do all the online sign up?

can anyone tell me if they have stayed at the Embassy Suites at the Newark

Airport? It is a new hotel. My concern is Newark was named the 2ed to the

top murder capital in the U.S. Detroit got the honor for first.

 

Guess we only will stay in our hotel once we get there and not venture out.

Being it is in Jan. it probably will be too cold any way.

Overall not that impressed with Quantum as I was with Oasis/ Allure.

 

We have been on both ships and will be on the Quantum in Jan. Will let you know how impress we are. But I won't judge one way or another until that time. Might really like this cruise ship.

 

Why are you not impressed so far?

I prefer the ship. We don't even get off the ship most of the time now. It is too

expensive for such a short time on land.

I am disappointed the track is on top deck. Any one on the cruise so far who used the track for either running or walking what are your thoughts? I have been on the Allure and Oasis and loved how they put it away from the main public. I used it every morning. But this could be a problem with people
just standing on it not realizing people are running and walking .

Am I the only one who is disappointed?

Mornings I used it had quite a lot of people on the track. Either walking
or running. Once in awhile a couple kids but for the most part it was adults.

When I take this cruise, I have booked a 2:45pm flight at Newark airport(the ship arrives at 7:00am). Do you guys think that is enought time to get off teh ship and to the airport?

 

You are saying the day before? Or do you mean 2:24 a.m.? The ship probably

doesn't leave till 4:00 p.m. so that should be enough time. And what month?

We could have snow storms now till spring. Who knows.

Been to that hotel. Never will ever go back. Lots of big time complaints when we were there. No beach around.

Won $600. one night and $300 the next night on Carnival. No taxes. If you play at casinos in Ohio there is no such thing as counting your loses when you win $1,200. Governor stopped that as soon as he was in office.

I keep trying to find live reports but no luck. Just where do I go to see it?

My casino cards keep having to be replaced because of my cell phone being near it in my purse all the time.

I signed up for D.Dining a long time ago. Just what is it? I have been on 4 cruises before. I don't think any one is going to starve. And get it cleared up the first day on the cruise. Whatever you decide to change. Not a big deal.

 

We ate in the M.D. every night. I am a picky eater. So I only ordered

steak every night. I got tired of it and just asked for a hamburger. They got it for me and a plain salad. Neither one was on the menu. The couple with us did the same thing.

 

Believe me RC people bend over backwards to please us all. And there is always room for you to eat any where on their ships. So call free or not.

I prefer the buffet. My husband MDR. WE only paid 2 times in the last 4 cruises for specialty restaurants.

I would like to have pictures of the single rooms. My sister has one in Jan. sailing. I am

afraid it will be a closet.

Pictures of the track. Is it sorta separated from the public . Meaning only runners and walkers will be allowed on it. Or will we have to keep dodging in and out .

I love the tracks on the Allure and Oasis. It is like being away from the main population of the ship. Once in awhile kids might be on it with their parents.

I wish they wouldn't allow them at all. Kids under 13. It can be dangerous if the parents don't keep track of them . It doesn't happen often. Once in awhile you will get an adult who has never walked a track in their life. Not staying on the side they should be on. But 90% of the time it is great.

 

I am worried about the new ship will have people in the way all the time being that it is on the top deck mixed in with the general population. And no real protection from the sun either . I like the indoor feeling with the Allure and Oasis but still had the breeze and the ocean to look at.

 

I used the track every day. So will let you know if I am thrilled with the layout

of the Quantum in Jan.2015

I think I got a free cruise deal too but I think it was a time share to some

island in the end. Sounds like the deals you get in Vegas for free hotels or free entertainment. Which we did one time. Yes, the meal was great and a good show we got to see. BUT it was a time share. And when we said no they almost

threw us out of their office. We had to fight to get the free shows and meal.

We told them give us a card and we would think about it. They were not happy with us. Really it was funny in the end. We didn't take it seriously in the

first place because we knew we had to listen to their sales pitch.

 

They even picked us up in a limo. But they were ready for us to walk back to our hotel. Until we threw a fit. Some people were so ticked off they grabbed a cab.

We are booked on the Quantum in January. We reserved all of our dinning and shows 2 months ago. We just received an 5 emails cancelling 5 entertainment selections. To correct the problem we have to cancel our cruise planner and start over. We are really having doubts about this cruise, has anyone else had this problem???

yes I had to rebook too. I think some time changes made everything go wrong. I think it was only 15 mins later that screwed it up.

 

I have been on the Allure and Oasis and always booked in advance. But we decided while on the ship to just walk in to some of the shows and go earlier . Some we didn't even go to because we wanted to do something else at that time.

 

Go ahead and book the shows just in case you don't want to miss it.

 

I don't think you can book a show twice. But maybe if you do want to see it twice just show up and hope they have openings.

I liked Chicago when we saw it on the Allure. Mama Mia is boring. Wish they would of found another play for the new ship. I prefer the music with Chicago and not crazy about Mama Mia music.

We have been on the Oasis and Allure. And I really liked the outside track away from the public area. But this ship seems to be all one and not as long of distance. Plus it looks like not much is open to the sea like the two other ships. Everything seems to be enclosed. Reminds me of being on a carnival ship. I hope not but I guess we will see.

 

Can't wait to see the first week out and all the reports. We will get our trip late Jan.

I BOOKed my cruise 2 years out and hotel 1 year out. Remember 30,000 people or more are staying the night before a cruise so why would you wait so long to book. They will charge you more if you wait the last min. Taxis you have no problems getting to the airport . They have plenty.

 

I don't prearrange transportation. That is if the hotel is only a few mins. away from the cruise. We did before a bus and we waited hours for it. And I don't call for a taxi either. They are late too. We just walk out front of the hotel and flag one down. Do the same after the cruise.

 

We prearrange a bus from the cruise to the airport one year and we were the last people to leave the port.Never again.

Exactly where are they with the construction of the new port? Will it be ready for the Nov. first cruise with Quantum ship? Can't wait for the first cruise to go out and come back and report the port news, taxi news, hotels , and the whole cruise it self. And all about the tech services if they really do work or are the a waste of money.

When you say free WiFi at the ports? Where? And exactly what is free?

Would Verizon be charging a lot for not being in the U.S.?

 

I lived without cell phones on 4 other cruise trips so I am sure I can the next one. But it would be nice to have it at a reasonable price.
