  1. I'm still not clear, and I probably missed your post.....but, what I'd like to be clear on, can you "ADD" a new package midway thru the cruise.....(not add to an existing package, upgrade, etc.)

Also confused as to the smiley you chose to use

Yes. My wife did not have a drink package. Half way through the cruise she went to Guest Relations and Purchased a PDP for the remainder of the cruise. It was something like 55.00 a day.

  2. I've seen conflicting info on these boards regarding adding a beverage package part way through the cruise.

Can anyone confirm this for sure, from recent onboard experience?

I've made it thru this thread:

and it appears to still be up in the air......... :( or at least until the last post there.........

Last year we were on a transatlantic. I had the premium package and wife chose not to buy the package. Half way through the cruise she was able to purchase a premium package for the remainder of the cruise at the guest relations desk.

  3. I called X and upgraded today. No hassle, no long wait times and they were very nice. I was asked if it was just myself upgrading or my wife as well (led me to believe that it wasn't mandatory for both of us to upgrade (I'd heard that before on these forums)).

I choose to upgrade early for the simple fact that I didn't want to wait in any lines trying to upgrade once on-board. Straight to the bar for me with no delays.

  5. A tie is "required" for formal night? Really?

Really. Formal attire outside of the world of Celebrity indicates a tux or suit. Something you would wear to say a wedding. Celebrity I believe is being lenient with there "formal" requirements. That being said, on a Formal night on the ship in the MDR, at the very least you should wear a tie.

  6. Worth the Upgrade. I'm a Gin drinker too and unless your ok drinking basic gin and having common beers then stay with the basic package. I upgrade for the benefits of being able to drink tanqueray or hendriks as well as a nice gin or vodka (stoli or grey goose) martini. It will also cover a lot of the better wines at dinner. So for an extra 11.50 a day...well worth it to me.

  7. A dirty martini is vodka with olive juice (instead of vermouth).

I agree with the stoli Elit....but just stoli elit with nothing added served up. It is an incredibly smooth vodka. You might want to price out stoli elit and grey goose at your local liquor store before you cruise....and then you may understand that stoli elit is an incredible buy on Celebrity since it costs the same as grey goose.

I've always had it with Vermouth (I prefer Noilly Prat). But to each their own. I have had the Stoli Elite just poured over ice at the ensemble bar and it was well....num num num :D

  8. Just as a host or hostess can show consideration towards guests by providing clear dress guidelines, so does a guest return the favor by being mature enough to honor them. This is particularly true for formal dress codes where ignoring the prescribed etiquette will make it clear that you could not care less about the desires of your host or the experience of your fellow guests.

  9. Coming from a guy who hates to get all fancy-dancy and gussied up for dinner, I actually wear a tux on the formal nights out of respect for the captain and others who choose to embrace the formal nights. I'm not saying that it should be mandatory, but c'mon, the very least you could do is wear a tie.

  10. lol, ya, I was wondering if the "boat" comment was going to get a rise out of anyone. We are AQ, so was just wondering about the etiquette for reservations regarding the Blu. Thanks for the tips. Consensus indicates that the first night is the busiest for the Blu.
