  1. I was on the cruise last month where there was a broken pump and the ship had a horrible sewage smell. Sometimes it was so bad I almost vomited. It mostly smelled on the open decks. The aft section of the Lido was the worst. Based on what others have written on here, I believe the issue has been fixed now.

I had an inside cabin on deck 9 towards the aft. It was not all the way aft, but slightly forward of the aft elevators. My room always smelled like someone just farted. It was mostly noticeable upon entering the room and waking up. I think I would just get used to it after being in the room a few minutes. My sister had the cabin next to me and her cabin also smelled. It was not nearly as bad as other parts of the ship. My parents had a balcony cabin a few doors down from me and never smelled it in their cabin.

  2. I was on the Breeze last month. My cruise had the horrible sewage smell. I also smelled it in my cabin, although it was not so bad that I requested to switch rooms. Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your cruise. I also found the breakfast buffet to be lacking, but I am not a fan of breakfast buffets, especially the scrambled eggs, in general. You can get freshly made scrambled eggs at the omelet station.

The Breeze was probably my least favorite cruise experience so far, but I still had a good time. I personally do not like the Dream class ships. I just think there are too many people and the staff cannot handle it. I just got back from the Liberty today, and I thought it was much better than the Breeze.

  3. I will echo what others have said. I have been to Belize 3 times now. I absolutely love it. You must book an excursion though. It is not a port where you can just wander around and expect to have a good time. I have done the cave tubing, sargeant's caye snorkeling, and ziplining. This is a port where I feel more comfortable booking through Carnival instead of an independent. A lot of the sites are far from the ship.

  4. I kinda do like elegant night. I was at the mall the other day and saw the cutest dress at Express. I wasn't going to get it because I thought I had no where to wear it to. Then I thought that I could wear it on elegant night on my upcoming cruise. So for me, elegant night lets me wear cute dresses that I normally wouldn't get a chance to wear.

I asked DH what he thought of elegant night and he said he was indifferent. He goes along with itbe cause that it just what you do on a cruise (his words). He usually just wears dress pants, dress shirt and sometimes a tie. He hasn't worn a suit on a Carnival cruise in years.

  5. For a week cruise I usually bring $500 cash for DH and I. This is for extra tips and at port spending. All my on-board expenses, (drinks, auto gratuity, cruise sponsored excursions, etc) go on my credit card. If I know I am taking a non-cruise excursion or looking to buy something specific at port, I will bring extra cash. We do not gamble, so I don't need any casino money. Some of my siblings will bring about $1000 each because they love the casino.
