  1. Actually you do get what you pay for. One of the best cruises I have ever been on was on the Majesty's sister ship the Monarch. She will always be my favorite. Every crew member was wonderful and it was so relaxing. Bigger is not always better, it depends on what you want in a particular cruise.

Since you quoted me, I am not sure where you found me using the description "bigger"? It has nothing to do with my point.

  2. This surely can not be a serious question. In the event it is. Royal Caribbean can not be used in the same sentence as Carny. New ship versus New ship--- Carnival Breeze versus Allure of the Seas. It is not even close. Royal Caribbean is vastly superior. It's like comparing a single orange to an orange grove. K mart versus Saks 5th Avenue. Mercedes versus Hyundai. As for the older ships... who really cares, except for the fact a Voyager class versus its counterpart one of the (shuns) is virtually the same contest as above.

If you are going on Majesty or one of the Visions.....eh.....you get what you pay for. Possibly the newest Carnival could compete with the oldest RCCL (Majesty) but it would be a draw in my opinion. Next question.....

  3. Nice Review. I was on the same sailing. Not exactly the warmest of weather but the Seas were smooth and the sun was shining. Glad you had a good time. I hate to nitpick but just so others do not jump for joy, the claws the OP spoke of were not lobster but instead Jonah crab. Either way an upscale treat from the buffett compared to other lines.

  4. I boarded the Breakaway in Port Canaveral on December 3rd for a tour. I asked the question about boarding in PC and returning in PC and the answer was the one I gave above. They will allow international passengers now and will be making a decision on whether to let all passengers book the trip from PC. I also do agree with the poster Coscab. A few months ago on the NCL site for a brief time one was able to book this cruise leaving from PC. Hopefully they get it figured out and make it happen soon.

  5. An article yesterday was posted in Florida Today (local newspaper for Port Canaveral area) and it said the Breakaway will now be allowing foreign passengers only to embark in Port Canaveral, do the full 7 day cruise with stops in NYC and Bahamas and then disembark back in PC. Initiallyit will be a test to see how it goes. If all goes well they will then open it up to all passengers.

  6. It may be the one with the ramp that extends out for the zipliners. My room was directly across from this. While I do not think the room is actually obstructed, I would never book that cabin as screaming people are flying in the air day and night and they look like they are going straight into your cabin before hitting the ramp. I guess Depending upon how big the person on the zipline is that particular balcony could actually be totally obstructed for a second or two lol....

  7. I was on an NCL ship a couple years ago and they advertised the snowball Bingo jackpot to be a minimum 1000.00, my wife happen to win and they gave her 480.00...we didnt say anything, just happy to have won and kind of forgot all about it until the bingo director out of the blue called our cabin and said "hey sorry about the payout, the ad we ran in the daily was a misprint.....hmmm, at that point we felt we had been cheated lol.. why the hell is he calling us a day later? Anyways we were on vacation and I did not feel like getting crazy about it...so just we just moved on 480.00 richer.

  8. I have recently heard from family on the island that they are working towards opening up ports on the other side near Roosevelt Roads the old Navy Base. The east side of the island is very beautiful and a short distance to the rain forest, while only 35 miles from the airport. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

  9. Patron the good stuff? Puleeeze. Over marketed, over priced, hyped, tastes like fuel. Next time you hit a mexican port, sample a shot of Casa Noble Blanco at one of the liquer stores. Then buy a bottle. I went online and after much research bought a bottle during my visit to Cozumel. I took it home and did the old pepsi challenge taste test with friends who swore by Patron and the results were embarrassing. Google Casa Noble for opinions from the pro's. You can thank me later.
