    That's awful.

You may have to search manually.

I sailed on Carnival Jubilee in 1986.  Maybe you'll find my old posts before there was an intenet for mortals.

Carnival's newest XL class ship that debuted in December 2023 has been named the Jubilee, I have no need for posts from 1986, thanks for your insights.

Have you selected to book under an offer code?  It could be select sailings.

    What???

I'm talking about when you come into the Carnival Cruise Forum at the top there is a query method to just see posted related to the ship you are sailing on, it lists all of them in a drop down with the exception of the Jubilee.

  3. Sailed her 2/4/24-2/9/24 found the ship to be in great condition. Very clean and well kept with no terrible signs of rust.  There were a few chairs in Studio B that were broken as they were fold-downs and they kept going down to the point you could slide off of it.  Sadly the cupholders in the main show lounge serve no purpose as the glasses used now will not fit in them.

Food was better than expected, Chops and Giovanni's were excellent and Johnny Rockets was fun too.  I heard the ice cream from the soft serve dispensers wasn't good but didn't try any myself. The Promenade Cafe is a life savor for late night eats but it gets BUSY.  Show's were not media productions as found on new ships, the true stars are the ship's singers and dancers the backdrops are meh.  Sadly I wasn't impressed with the comedian on our sailing or the piano player in the Schooner bar but that is a subjective opinion.

  4. I know that both "specialties" are included at this point but I've heard on a YouTube review I cannot find now that if you have an assigned dining time you cannot make a reservation before a certain time.  Is this true? Is that just if you try to book it on the app while onboard? What if you just show up and ask to be seated?

I realize other ships have these restaurants but I am speaking specifically to the Jubilee as it's new and the dining for the first year or so may be a bit different than other similar ships.

Be careful in recommending Celebrity.  We are on Constellation for 30+ days right now and are extremely disappointed in the dining.  Case in point, last night's dinner offering was Meatloaf and a vegetarian pot pie with only mushrooms and potatoes.  We sail most of the cruise lines at least 100 or more days a year and find that Celebrity food at this point is no better than MSC or Royal-in fact their offerings are better than what we've found on Celebrity--such a decline, such a sad state of affairs!

Makes me excited and happy to be going on the new Carnival Jubilee in May, food videos on YouTube look GREAT!

Does anyone coming out these past cruises have pictures of the menus from the Main Dining Room?  Curious to see how they look compared to dining in the other restaurants.  Too many choices lol

    Try YouTube for the menus.

    Does this happen on RCL?

Not a cruise line issue it's a state tax issue.  I know it happens in Galveston, CCL cannot even honor (nor do they charge for) the drink package on embarkation day due to backwards state laws.  Alaska, New York, Maryland (cruises out of Baltimore) you pay the tax on alcohol.

Let's do the Math...  I like doing the Math...

Assuming two people in the stateroom...

    $59.95 x 2 = $119.90

    $119.90 x 0.18 = $21.58   ( Gratuity )

    $119.90 + 21.58 = $141.48

    $141.48 x 5 = $707.40

Still cheaper than Royal Caribbean that is as much as $89.99pppd before gratuity!

And how long ago was that?

You also keep citing the hamburger and ignoring the other entrees. You have 6-7 choices for a reason. Clearly that menu is not to your standards, which is perfectly fine, we all have preferences.

I'm not cruising to eat Mac & Cheese, a hamburger or fried chicken for dinner sorry. I'll stop at the A&W/KFC on my way home from work if that's what I'm in the mood for.

Things and prices changed in the last 35 years. LOL.

You still could not eat like you can on a cruise ship considering all the other things that are included, room, entertainment, travel and SO  MUCH MORE.

The only reason that is, is because the price of cruising hasn't changed in 35 years. in 1989 it cost about $1000pp for an inside cabin for a 7 night cruise and that didn't include any amenities.  Cruise lines unfortunately have cheapened their product to attract the mass market. As a result there are fights and drunks and people going overboard and everything else. If you adjusted for inflation that means the interior room on a 7 night should be going for about $2460pp.  Imagine the quality of cruise you'd get if that were the case.

Huh? Looks like a pretty standard MDR dinner menu to me. Steak, fish, chicken, Indian dish... what exactly are you expecting?

well I've been cruising for 35 years and it's a far cry from the crab claws appetizer and frog legs provencale that Royal Caribbean used to serve.  A hamburger, at dinner and you're not in a buffet line???? Horrible!
