  1. I wish I knew. I think that the grills is entirely sold out. The maitre d said over 100% with third berths . it would be good if they had masks available in locations.
  2. At the noon announcement, the captain said that the number of cases of Covid onboard have been increasing and that crew will now be required to mask. Also encouraged passengers to mask. it would be good if they had masks available at the entrance to the venues…
  3. We only go to the grills for dinner…the times for breakfast and lunch are pretty limited. We would always get back too late from excursions.
  4. Also a good place for WI-FI connective. I am here right now posting. they do always have snacks or bites as well as tea time with scones.
  5. I did speak to Osman and it seems to have helped!
  6. On QM2 now. My cabin (QG) is great. Pleased with the butler. I am fine with the big reusable bottles in the bath . Less wasteful. Also am fine with the daily program. so far the biggest disappointment for me is the dining in the queens Grill. The service was only fair ( had to flag people down). I loved my Princess Grill experience in 2016. i did bring my concerns to the attention of the maître d. And things seem much better. In the other hand the menus aren’t great nor is the food at the same standard as previously. I will circle back at the end of the cruise. Hopefully I will have more happy news to report. Fortunately the cruise has been wonderful and have met some nice people.
  7. Being owner by the same company has nothing to do with anything, each brand is different with cost per meal and menu options varying. I would also say that opinions on food vary widely, but there is an element of you pay for what you get. I have been cruising for decades and the quality has declined along with the cost of cruising, I was also pretty shocked at how mediocre the food was on Disney which is actually a cruiseline that is premium priced. What used to be standard on cruiselines like Princess are no longer. On the other hand, cruising is much more affordable with more price points. I think a lot of what people think is very good no longer works for me. It’s just too subjective to give you a response without knowing what kind of dining you prefer in real life. I am not a big fan of Britannia but most people on this board are, and who am I to disagree?
  8. It just goes to show how convinced people are about being right on something. Even when the answer in black and white demonstrates that they are incorrect.
  9. I can sympathize. My osteoarthritis/hip displasia/labral tear, etc. lead me to change my cabin today to be more midships. A few months ago I was walking around London with no problems. Now I am hobbling along. 13 days of being at the opposite end of the ship from the Dining room and terrace pool were weighing on me. I use crutches and it takes time to go that far. I guess it is puzzling that a small scooter can only go into an accessible room. I am sure that there is a story behind that.
  10. All the vaccination information is on the website. Nothing has changed.
  11. However, they do say “Guests will also be asked to confirm that a test has been taken, with a negative result, as part of the pre boarding health declaration at the cruise terminal.” so we have basically moved onto the honor system.
  12. Just got an email from Cunard, the website has also been updated.
  13. Oh yay, coffee and tea is very nice. I was going to bring my chemex from home so I could have coffee on demand .
  14. Can anyone recall if the door is starboard or Port to enter? I just changed my cabin number to be more midships, as I am having mobility problems and am on crutches. I was all the way forward previously. Which would have been great, had it been pre-COVID as I love the thermal suite, but too much of a hassle with the limited times and hours currently. Now I am in 9040. What exactly do people do in the lounge? I never used it when I was PG a it wasn’t convenient and I had no need (17 days round trip TA).
  15. The company I used for my last cruise seems to be no longer viable. I guess I lot of them are going under as there are few requirements at this time. Thanks!!
  16. So what is available for your sailing? The Princess Grill suites are very nice on the Queen Mary also.
  17. Very helpful! Thank you very much!
  18. Sorry to hear about your husband. I have some newish mobility issues as well and will probably need crutches to get around, unless things improve. I am finding it hard to nail down excursions, too,
  19. I am wondering what time to tell my ride to pick me up. How do they determine disembarkation times? Thanks!
  20. It’s a navigation issue on the blinds being drawn,,,not sure if you got that or not.
  21. I have looked at that cabin closely and I don’t get it. The space seems very broken up and less expansive than other options. I would love to hear why people prefer it.
  22. Good to know. Thanks @Victoria2. Is it possible to order lunch in advanced and have it brought to our cabin if we aren’t there at the moment? I guess my other question is how far in advance must one order?
  23. So it is the butler who brings and serves the meals?
