  1. Thanks! Which ship was this? The website list for Classic doesn't include Sam Adams, so that's a welcome addition. I wonder if it's available fleet-wide?
  2. Thank you so much for the confirmation and your experiences. I really did think it was clear, until I read the language posted by the originator of this thread... "beers up to USD 6 per serving, spirits and cocktails up to USD 8 per serving, and wine up to USD 10 per serving."
  3. My question is... how do I determine the beer allowance. The OP's message seems to say it's $6. Some of the menus I've seen posted online show the Classic-included beers priced at $7-8. The Celebrity website says the Classic drink package "includes alcoholic drinks up to $10." The answer can make a big difference in whether I decided to upgrade to the premium package or not.
  4. Price is only moot if you stick to your package. What is the base cost of the different types of drinks when you pay the difference? If I order a beer that's not included in the classic package, am I paying the difference above $10, or above $6 like the OP's message may imply?
  5. Thanks! I'd be most interested in the premium water and zero cocktails in particular.
  6. If I have the Classic drink package and ask for a glass of wine or beer that costs more than $10, I understand I will be charged the difference above $10 plus 20%. What if I ask for an Evian or San Pellegrino? Do I pay the difference above the standard bottle of water (and can anyone tell me about what that difference is)? What if I ask for a Red Bull? Fresh juice? Smoothie? Zero proof cocktail? Some of those are listed in the Premium package and notably not in the Classic package. Do they pick some default price like a can of soda to compare, or will I pay full price for the premium drink?
  7. Curious... at the dining rooms, do they bring you a can and a glass? Or is it already poured leaving the can behind?
  8. Saltines aside, we do like cheese. Is this an actual option, and is the cheese offering better than the canapes?
  9. Thanks for this. I was confused by the wording on their website under the "Conduct Policy" that seems to say every bottle brought on board was subject to a corkage fee. Your e-docs make it more clear that the fee only applies when you bring it to a restaurant, bar, or lounge.
  10. This is why I started the thread... and I learned quite a bit. It would seem the bottom line is that they are more or less an extension of guest services. They'll try to help you directly or do their best to point you in the right direction... if they are available.
  11. I guess a followup on this... Are many bars and lounges equipped to make frozen drinks on demand?
  12. My kids are willing to be adventurous with food, but also like to have access to their comfort foods, specifically fried chicken strips, fries, and mac&cheese. Should we expect those to be regularly available in the Oceanview Cafe for lunch and dinner? I'm guessing they won't be available outside those mealtimes, or would they?
  13. Thank you so much for the offer. If it's not so much trouble, I'd love to see what you have. Maybe at least it will give us a sense of how things go.
  14. Ah, this makes sense with what I saw. It does appear that the ones I could see were on decks 9 and up. Thanks!
  15. We will be cruising on Eclipse in August (first Celebrity cruise), and I'm devouring all the Eclipse content I can find. I found a 2012 video showing a Concierge cabin with foot-rests on the veranda (like in the image here). I found another video from 2022 panning across the outside of the ship and clearly showing many cabins that have the foot-rests and many that don't. Is there a rhyme or reason to which cabins do and which don't? Are they just slowly being allowed to disappear through attrition? Has anyone requested a foot-rest be added after boarding?
  16. So nothing that requires a charge to your account, perhaps? Maybe cancelations? I do keep hearing that the concierge is there for all guests (except suites), and that's what my TA said too. I understand and I'm fine with that. But I'm curious if that is in writing somewhere that I'm missing? Maybe an un-advertised policy/practice? Maybe that's what the Concierge tells people? How does everyone know this? Because the only mention of Concierge services I can find on the Celebrity website is related to Concierge Class.
  17. This sounds like a great tip. True, the current sailing is a completely different itinerary than what I'm looking for. But when the Alaska sailings start, I can follow along.
  18. As a first-time Celebrity cruiser, I'm very curious about what to expect from each day's activity schedule. Is there a place I might find scans of past cruise planner schedules? Especially ones for the Eclipse in Alaska (7-night Vancouver round trip).
  19. So I've gathered the following examples of things that Concierge can help with... Dining reservations and changes Print boarding passes Tender tickets Help with problems Help with Guest Services issues with a shorter line Just now, I actually found the Concierge description in my app. Here's what it says: Deck 7 Midship (Eclipse) Times: 8am - 8pm "When our Concierge class guests have questions - not only about our ship, but about upcoming ports and more - we're here to answer each and every one of them so your journey is truly exceptional." All this is more than I had in mind, which was pretty much limited to dining. So I appreciate all you seasoned cruisers who came to share your experiences. Can anyone confirm whether other reservations are appropriate, such as excursions, spa, and other onboard activities? Can anyone here offer an example of a question that was answered about upcoming ports (that sounds helpful)? Or any "problems" that were resolved by the Concierge? Any examples of something that was asked for that was denied or redirected?
  20. All of these responses are very helpful. I am aware of the basic differences between stateroom attendant, concierge, and butler. What I'm really looking for are the creative or out-of-the-ordinary things that others have requested that I may never think of (all I could come up with was help with dining and activity reservations).
  21. My family is booked for the first time on a Celebrity cruise in August. We will be in Concierge Class cabins on the Eclipse. What are the most useful things to ask of the Concierge? Any tips?
