One more question. If you order a drink costing more than the package allowance are you charged the difference or the entire price of the higher-priced drink?
-
We are pretty experienced cruisers but mostly on Celebrity and RCCL. Our last cruise on Princess was pre-pandemic.
There is an attractive offer on an Emerald Princess sailing. Here is where the help comes in there are three booking levels offered standard, plus, and premier. I realize these are similar to the Celebrity all included basic and premium, however, I need more info. How are the drink prices on Princess? Do the Plus and Premier include an upscale coffee bar similar to Cafe Al Bacchio? What are premium desserts? What are casual dining meals? Is Princess charging for the buffet now? Does anyone know what Princess prizes are?
Thank you in advance for the help

It’s an OV with a window that opens. Anyone that’s happy with an OV cabin would most likely be happy with it.
Except for the price.

Isn’t it interesting that celebrity takes things away, MDR appetizer, dedicated elite and above lounge, ect. Then gives you a little of that back and expects us to be happy.
why can’t they simply restore the menu the way it was and. Bring back the lounge every night?

It is their ships they can do what they want 😁
No, actually they can't. The stockholders actually are the plank owners and want their investment to appreciate and pay dividends. Negative changes, perceived or real, will reduce revenue, driving profitability down.
Management's responsibility is the opposite. Drive profits upwards. In the last year, the perception is out there that Celebrity is reducing services and cutting quality. Actions speak louder than words.

If they take one or 2 Mclass ships they could have them do these longer cruise
M-class ship would not be missed if they didn’t cruise the Caribbean
Sorry but at least one has to stay for Tampa, I don't think S or E class can pass under the Sunshine Skyway bridge.

Do you really think cruise lines just blindly make business decisions that directly affect passengers?
I guess you missed "cookiegate"

Lots and; lots of genuine balcony cabins. Call those Infiniti atrocities what they are Oceanviews!

Unfortunately, I could see the first eight-night dinner menus in the app for our upcoming 16-night Trans Atlantic. Quite a change from past Celebrity sailings and I don't mean that in a good way.

Since Retreat passengers have a different expectations than the rest of the passengers
Should this forum be divide , Retreat and Aqua and the rest
I think that is a brilliant idea!

Can anyone post a link to show CC benefits for Elite Plus, please? Or just tell me how many minutes complimentary wi-fi for Elite Plus?
240 minutes

Well, I guess it is not a hoax. Then why, I wonder, was the thread deleted. Did some poster go off on a rant or what?
I was advised it was removed because cruise line employees were mentioned by name which is against cruise critic policy.

We didn't have it on our March Apex cruise.
February of this year I reached out to the executive office at Celebrity asking if the nightly CC HH gathering for elite and above will be returning in the Sky Lounge or similar depending on the class of ship. The answer I receive was, "With reference to your question, please be advised that we will not be bringing back the Happy Hour at designated area. It will be available at bars/lounges throughout the ship from 5pm - 7pm daily (excluding embarkation)".
Thanks for that info. That’s what I expected actually. I post here in the hope that I would be wrong.
while the nightly drinks from the CC menu are nice, especially if you are sailing cruise only, we miss the social aspect the lounge, err, Happy hour event provided. Plus the passed hors devour weren’t bad. Lol.

It’s really interesting that you remember the exact phrase used when that would have been around ten years ago or so…..
But going back to post number one, where you reported that somebody on another site said that there was now a Captains Club lounge on Beyond, did you ever get any further clarity on that ?
Because if there was such a lounge for Captains Club members, was it all members or just Elite, where was it, and how and when was it used?
Well, Cruisestitch it was a big event for us. Our first sailing with Elite status and it was pretty special that the hotel director personally invited us. However, if you want to call me a liar that is your prerogative.
My point with the entire thread was simply to see if the nightly closed Elite and above event had returned on any Celebrity ship. I didn't intend for this to denigrate into endless semantics.
To answer your second point, the other individual never replied to my query for additional information.
Have a nice day!!

I never heard that mistake made and it seems odd to me that you or your friends would refer to Sky Lounge or Michaels Club as the Captains Club lounge. The cocktail hours were only for Elite and above members and there was usually someone at the door checking status from5-7. I go way back on Celebrity. I recall when Michaels Club was a cigar lounge then later the piano lounge. None I knew ever called it the Captains Club lounge.
Well Charles I guess you don't know everything, pity. We had many a fine cocktail on the Millenium in Michaels Club during the CC happy hour. I am fairly certain others did as well because we weren't alone.

He is still going strong and "pops up" on various ships. Love him or hate him ( we are in the former group) but never leave while he is entertaining.
He had a permanent home on the Connie for many years. I still remember all the Perry Grant fan club door signs. His bit about gated communities was a laugher.

It just adds to the misinformation; as I was saying earlier, my vote would be for mods to simply edit the title to include the OPs original premise along with reflecting accurate info so something like "there is no longer the nightly event held in the lounge"
Interestingly when we first achieved Elite (hate the term) status we sailed a four-day cruise on the Millenium over Thanksgiving. The cruise director made it a point to reach out to us congratulate us on our achievement and invite us to the "Captain's Club lounge" which at that time was held in Michael's club.

Because it's full of misinformation. For the last time, there are no Captains Club lounges on Celebrity ships. Never have been. End of story.
A number of people actually referred to the Elite and above cocktail event held between 5-7 usually in the sky lounge as the Captian's Club lounge. I know we and many friends we sailed with did. Prior to that the 5-7 cocktail hour(s) was held in Michaels club which was sometimes referred to as the Captain's club lounge.

When you say ‘hours devours’ do you actually mean hors d’oeuvres?
Also, on our recent voyage Celebrity used the word ‘disembark’ and not ‘debark’ thank goodness!
Yes that is the correct spelling. My predictive speller messes it up.
I appreciate your corrections.

The Elite 5-7 pm Happy Hour as held in Michael’s Club and later in the Sky Lounge wasn’t really a dedicated club space such as Royal has for Diamond Members. Sometimes it was just a roped off area within the Sky Lounge. True it had restricted access but it was just a bar being used as the Happy Hour venue, the same way that the breakfast is held in a specialty restaurant with restricted access for two hours. We may be arguing about semantics, but the Happy Hour venue and breakfast venues aren’t really comparable to the Diamond Lounges which are open all day.
Totally agree the CC evening lounge was not similar to the Diamond lounge on RCCL. However, it was still an enjoyable venue and I wish they would bring it back.
