I probably know the answer to this, but we are trying to get out heads around packing for next week (gulp) and am wondering if there are any themed nights on the Caribbean cruises on Britannia. E.g. a black and white night or Caribbean themed night.

We are all sorted for formal wear, but thought we'd double check just incase .......

    Thanks as ever, us Prestos

We are on the same cruise I have packed my 4 Carribean shirts which I wear whether celebration nights or not

  3. We did this last November with P&O.

I dont remember the ground being uneven, you have to do a bit of walking, its not 90 minutes of walking though.

The worst part was the coach journey (I hate coaches with my long legs) , although we did have a guide talking theorugh it all on route.

Catherines bar was in situ, it looks a lot better on TV than it does from the beach, we were able to have a sit down and a drink in the bar

If you don't mind me asking but how did you manage to book seats / PE. We're flying to the Caribbean in January and are told we can't book seats until 14 weeks before departure on the flight seat booker. Flights showing as TUI as post above.

You can ring either your travel agent or P&O and pay the money (too mcuh for what you get in my view), then 14 weeks before you can pick your seat.

  5. We fly 11-10 from Gatwick on 13th Jan.

We have upgraded on the 3 other occasions we have flown to the Carribean on a fly cruise.

The cost of almost £900 for the seat upgrade is way too much, it looks like I will cram my self into economy, and spend the money saved on something else.

  6. Just returned from cruise on Aurora.

On the last night in the restaurant, they announced they would resurrect the tradition of the chefs parading through the restaurant with all guest showing their appreciation. (waving of white napkins)

Apparently this was last done back in 2016/17.

It seemed to go down very well with everyone, I wonder if this will be limited to the Aurora or the tpher ships will do it as well?

  7. We were on the Aurora back in November / December. We are on her again in 10 days time

We were on Arvia 6 weeks  ago, and to be honest we were pleasantly surprised, it was so much better than we expected. (our cruise was during Easter Holidays).

We liked the modern décor, facilities, and the numerous choices of dining.

Its so difficult to compare because they are so different in many ways.

For me it is all about what you want, I prefer to have adults only, but you have to accept there is a premium for that.

Would I go on the Arvia / Iona again, yes.

  8. I am currently on this cruise, currently in Sunny Barcelona

Yes the MDR booking is a bit of a nuisance in that you could have to wait 45 mins to an hour (not always this long) after booking but no big deal in the great scheme of things, once you realise thats the way it could be

Its great with all the different venues to eat, although some are extra.

I dont like the booking of shows etc, I see no need for it, same on all ships now I believe.

All in all we just get on with it and enjoy our holiday.
