  1. Never been on her, but I agree with you that she may be your favorite because she was the first. We were on Imagination first and loved it! Our second was the Triumph. Not only was she bigger and had more bells and whistles, but I knew so much more about cruising (we booked Imagination within a month of cruising and were ignorant!) but I still didn't enjoy it as much. We were 21 year old kids on the Imagination and had never been out of the South. Entering the atrium was amazing. I learned what tiramisu was and tried escargot for the first time on her. Hope I make it back to her one day

  2. Not to be picky, but why did you pack a backpack? Pack stuff IN the backpack and use it as a carry-on.

Seriously, you should be fine. Just remember to use "double-duty" clothes and wash as needed.

I always carry a backpack or other type bag to bring back all the extras I purchase while on the cruise

  3. Here's an option I don't think anyone mentioned. Just pack one pair of dress pants (if you're uncomfortable with jeans, or for elegant night), and 2 tops. You can always reuse (you're not in them that long). You'd get several nights out of that. If you choose anytime dining you can take a look at the choices on lido before making the decision. Seems like s win/win

  4. I think those are the old ones before they were revised. I posted the 7 day Eastern from February on Glory. Not sure how it differs. If they alternated between an 8 day and 6 day then they typically have the first 6 menus then put the other day on to the 8. Not sure of the order though. Hope this makes sense.

Those are there but there are also some new ones, from the Freedom. Don't know what ports that is though

  5. Actually, Trumpster, only some of the the movies change monthly. And handful of the movies on your list that are playing currently were also playing when I cruised last October. It's kind of annoying for people that cruise multiple times a year.

My husband is very likely to watch the same movie twice when we aren't on vacation. I sure wouldn't mind it a bit if we were able to cruise multiple times per year... Or even once each year

  6. Almost no chance of encountering snow in New Orleans in November. We've been on the Triumph before the upgrades and loved her! New Orleans is a great city with tons of culture. If you go, Cafe DuMonde for breakfast and a walk through the French Quarter are musts! We are considering the same cruise again just to go out of New Orleans

  7. Just book and buy insurance. we were able to get back what we actually lost. We used travel guard and within 14 days of booking they'll cover pre existing conditions. It's not super expensive and the forms and process were painless

  8. Normally, awesome. Last cruise was awful! They were slow and very confused about what we ordered. Rarely refilled drinks and couldn't pronounce any of our names (which isn't a big deal except if I correct you and you continue to do it wrong for the rest of the cruise, it's annoying.)

  9. You might to do some research on NCL I've been thinking about solo cruising lately and they seem to be the only ones to offer some great solo rates.

NCL is also offering some great promotions. I'm going on the Liberty soon myself and can't wait, but since it's your closest port, I wouldn't do that. It's too easy to do any other time! I'd go on the Miracle too...for the 7 days more than anything

  10. We are booked in January and may have too cancel our ES also if we are granted full custody of my stepson (in which case is totally worth it!). From what I understood, all but the $100 ($50 pp) is held for a future booking for 24 months. However, if you don't think you'll be able to do that, I'd definitely submit it for review. Can't hurt right? If you do end up booking again, I'd definitely get travel insurance. It's not very expensive and if booked early, I think within 15 days, it even covers preexisting conditions. I've never used it before but had decided to this cruise because my uncle has a cancerous brain tumor. Totally worth it

  11. What I'm looking at is the SeaDogs, The comfort kitchen (where I was told I could get chicken fingers for lunch), the water works, sport square and Hasbro Game show. My stepson is a somewhat picky eater and I want to make sure there's plenty for him to do (never cruised with a kid so I'm clueless!). Can anyone tell me if these things are necessary/worth it?

  12. Thanks guys y'all really helped! I was leaning towards Sunshine only because it seemed like there was a little more to do but it seems the reviews don't always seem so positive. The itinerary really doesn't matter since I'm the only one that's ever been to either but we really want my stepson to experience something, not just a beach. He's all boy and loves anything with water and outdoors so I doubt it's an issue either place. Thanks again!

  13. We are currently booked on the Fascination for January but are hoping to gain custody of my stepson and will have to cancel/rebook for summer. The options are the Sunshine out of Charleston to the Bahamas or the Liberty out if Galveston to Mexico. Both are about the same distance from our home. I've been to Mexico, they haven't, but itinerary is not a huge deciding factor. The Sunshine is roughly $200 total more. Which would you suggest? It will be my DH and stepson's (age 7) first cruise!
