  1. Our January Cruise. We are seeking custody of my stepson and if granted, he will be in school. We booked Easy Saver. Am I correct we would lose the $50 deposit? What about gratuities, Fttf and water already purchased for onboard? Not canceling just yet but need to know just in case

  2. I would bring your marriage license with you to serve as a "bridge" document between your different names. If you don't bring the passport you will need a drivers license and birth certificate which will have your maiden name.

However, you are not cruising until January, so why not just complete the name change now on your passport?

This is exactly what I was thinking. However, after printing and filling out the form, it says at the bottom that my current passport must be less than 1 year old. If that's the case, I'd be better off to change the last name on my booking

  3. Since purchasing my passport almost 5 years ago, I have gotten married. My passport is in "Cortney Dawn Ward", my drivers license is in "Cortney Ward Robbins" and my January cruise is booked under Cortney Robbins. Is there anything I need to do? I realize I don't HAVE to have the passport but just wanting to make sure if it'll work or not?

  4. We had a slight hiccup getting to Jacksonville port' date=' which caused us to get there a little after 11:00. My parents got there at 10:45. We had FTTF, they did not. We got on board the ship almost 45 minutes before them.[/quote']

Wow! That would definitely make it worth it! The biggest perk to me is having the room ready but hadn't planned on purchasing if that was the ONLY real perk. Thanks!

  5. Thank you! It definitely seems to have perks and we would enjoy getting to drop our carry ons immediately. However, we are staying close to port and from what I've read can't be at the port until 10:30 so I know we'll be some of the first there. We aren't really in a rush to debark so I'm just not sure it'll be worth it for us. But I want on that boat ASAP! Lol

  6. Had this exact same thing happen to me. I called and they gave me the lower fare (with no OBC) but when I rationally thought about it, I was getting an extra $80 so I called back AGAIN, and took the deal. We are just waiting until we are onboard to book excursions and putting the credit towards that

  7. Yes, I needed to know if I backed out last minute (he gets worse or passes), would I be covered. From what I had understood previously, early saver would have zero protection after final payment, but the other way would offer protection under certain circumstances. I didn't realize an uncle wasn't one of those circumstances.

Either way, I dropped the cruise protection in lieu of a third party insurance that'll cover it all the way to 100% and am still booked early saver. So excited for this cruise, it'll be my husbands first!

  8. I booked a cruise this morning for January. I had always done early saver before but currently, my uncle has brain cancer so we didn't want to do that since we couldn't get a refund. However, the agent messed up and booked early saver with price protection. Can someone please tell me if I'm "more protected" to do this or to swap out of early saver with no protection? If we were to need to cancel, we'd be more than happy with credit but it would be very last minute. I've read what carnivals site says and spoken to an agent but I'm still confused. Please help!

  9. Yep, that menu is spot on. I did it on the January 31st cruise and must say it was the highlight of my cruise. Everything was AMAZING and it was by far the best service the entire cruise as well. Chef Alan and all the assistants did a wonderful job. I couldn't say enough good things about it. I WISH I could cook like that...now I'm gonna have to take another cruise just to do it again

  10. All these stories are great keep them coming. Even though I'm not as "well off" as some people, and have to save up to go on a cruise. i guess someday one of these stories will be about me or one of my "lower class" family members. lol

Eh, money doesn't buy class. We had to save for it too and it'll be a couple years before we get to do another one. We will take the WHOLE family this time, probably about 20 or so of us. I'm sure we'll have some great stories and probably attract some attention, but we were all raised right and know how to act in public.
