  1. Thats the exact ship I am sailing on in February.  That explains a lot.  My biggest issue with the Credit card points is that not too many people must use them or they save them up for free cruises or the double meta upgrade at 60k points.

Basically the BB is lower than a B(number), and a BB would be higher than a BC.  I tried looking for a B9, but it starts at a B6.

    Counting 4 up, BA. B6, B4, B3, then end up at B2?

I was hoping to end up with an Aft Facing or something, Otherwise, it is just a waste for 30k points to make it to a larger balcony.  Assuming there are even open rooms as I level up.

    Thanks,

  2. Just realized i have several thousand points with the world mastercard and was thinking about using some of them towards an upgrade, but got so lost trying to figure it out.

I bought the BB, do I just count up 2 or 4 and thats the level?

a BB room could go aft balcony, or Spa balcony.  But that doesn't sound right.

Anyone know how this stuff works?

  3. its an app on my phone, i log in through that. thank for the response! we shall see

If it really is next door there are a few excellent ones that also don't break the bank, that use Bluetooth instead of/and Wifi.

And it actually runs on 5v. I use it with a USB battery pack. I have one of the solar battery packs and it powers it for about 8 hours outside.

  4. So,,, it is really, really easy to read the terms and conditions....For the guests that book their excursions online; they are charged full retail for the excursions and the discount will be applied onboard in the form of a credit to their onboard account.

Nice, Must not have read all the way down. But it is interesting that it is in print and yet people are still having different experiences...:) But thats the way of the world I suppose

  5. Since I tend to just book excursions through the NCL site I chose this as one of my offers, but I was just reading the fine print and said must be booked on the ship to apply....

I like to book everything online, at least 90 days prior and pay everything in advance. So anyone that has done this, is this like a $150 OBC or would it be a refund or do I really have to wait till I am on the ship to book excursions?

Thanks so much, and this is what I get for reading the fine print....lol

  6. Come on.

I'm not an attorney, and I'm not going to file lawsuits over a few hundred dollars. That's a tremendous waste of my time, even if it were to be successful.

I just want NCL to keep their word regarding their promotions.

I view it less as a bait and switch and more along the lines of Free unlimited beverages (except for the fees) and dining package...neither one is free, yet technically they are...

I am usually happy to get anything for free. :)

  7. I have not given this thought much thought...I think Americans in general are way too uptight. If first thing in the morning, underwear or boxers, if I am sitting for a longer time usually running short shorts.

I guess I have always just said do whatever doesn't disturb me. :)

  8. Depending on the number of people in your party, I always rent a car. Hit up Priceline.com and the rates for even a one day rental unlimited miles has always hovered around $40.

For Miami, I am flying into FLL, renting a car and total cost for a large vehicle came out to $64. That included one way rental and drop off at the Port of Miami.

Just another option, and even better if you arrive a day earlier and then you have the freedom to explore the town a bit.

  9. A lot has already been covered, but I invested in 4 pair of the quick dry fabrics for both shirts and shorts. They are lighter weight, dry quicker and actually repel odor and stains.

The came in classic khaki and dressy. I think it was Kohls or JCP for about $20 a pair on sale, and then I have one pair of khaki zip off shorts/pants. For the undershirts I use the same "hi tech" fabric I used while deployed and it tends to keep me cool and dry. Then as it wicks, the shirts pull it and evaporate it. I think they were in the Golf section, granted this is more of a dude opinion, but like others, also wear the shirt the night before in the evening that is going to be worn the next day.

I can fit a week including fins and mask in a 25" spinner.

  10. Same here. Never seen a drop in price. I have seen some fluctuations, but usually that comes and goes with some offers or other something or other that actually balances it out.

The best thing personally is book it out as far as possible and just checkin monthly or so for drops, then it will be refunded or OBC or a nice upgrade. Pick the budget, and don't worry. If the price feels good to you, it more than likely is the best price.

I have been watching the Escape for June and there was just a 2% drop in price, of course that was after two 1% increases...so you can see what they did there...LOL

  11. Just remember if you are running on the deck or even walking as the ship is under way and you are using a GPS based tracker remember you are not running at 23 miles per hour down one side of the ship. :)

For example...lol...Couldn't figure out why my laps were so lopsided till I realized I was super slow running "against" the ship and then really moving "with" the ship...

I guess just a life lesson to be on the look out for. Shouldn't affect just step counts, but the Fitbit Surge I have does GPS as well and you may also have one similar.

  12. Take the inside room and save the $700. If the room is bad or you really don't like it, the next cruise get a window, then a balcony.

I do promise you it is easier to go up than it would be to go down...

I don't think I could go to an inside from a balcony, but could possibly do a window from a balcony.

  13. Going to the Eastern Carr and wanted to go on a two tank dive, but have not ever kept a log book. Done mostly river dives, beach dives, and gone with friends so never really bothered to keep one.

Do they really check the book or just the Dive cards?

I have open water/advanced open water even help teach discover scuba classes...but before I book wanted to bounce it out here.

    Thanks

  14. Its funny to read some of these because I have the same opinion. Book ahead for what you want and then adjust...

Yet, just getting off of the Dawn last week, every day the Excursion desk had a line, people were buying for the next day and the remainder of the cruise. I didn't really get it.

Why take the risk? but day after day, the line stretched out and they were never less than 4 people deep until the last sea day... lol
