  1. I have a future cruise booked on Carnival Glory out of New Orleans for Jun 23. It shows up under my account and there were no emails about any changes, etc...

Today I noticed that Jun 9, Jun 16, and Jun 23 bookings no longer show up in search results on the Carnival website. I only noticed this because someone in my family wanted a link to it.

I called Carnival and from their end they see this as being available but didn't have an explanation why its not coming up in search results on their website.

    Has anyone experienced this before?

I know ships can go into dry dock, etc...although don't think that Glory is scheduled for any.

Nope. They can barely support social media. I tried to upload a 30 second video to Instagram on the Glory in December. It took 5 hours! I gave up on uploading pictures to Facebook.

That sucks. Going to be on Glory in June and like to stay connected. Guess that is not going to happen.

Last week I was spoiled by MedallionNet so now anything less will be a disappointment. Carnival needs to hurry up and roll this out on all their ships

  3. It's a good thing too because these Medallions and the systems that read them are not perfect yet. Both my wife and I had issues with medallion and stateroom access. It would just say "Verifying Access...". Could have been the issue with the tablet for the door access but the regular card worked fine when you tapped it.

Nobody knew what the deal was or how to fix it. The medallion worked for everything except the door.

We stopped caring about the issue after day 1 and just used the cards.

  4. It's not always the developers fault. Google is known to completely remove legacy features and options so developers have to update their apps accordingly and in some cases older OS and devices are no longer supported.

I'm sure it's part of Google's plan because they don't want old versions of their OS out there. Android 5 was released in 2014 and Android 6 in 2015. That's about 5 years. By mobile computing standards it's like you're using Windows 3.1 still 😁

Does anyone have the back door link for adding this offer?

There is no back door link. You have to login to your AMEX account and check the Offers section.

Fastest way is through the mobile app.

I have AMEX Blue Cash Preferred and see that offer but don't think it is for all cards / accounts especially those where an AMEX card is issued from another bank.

If you have this, then its a great offer.

Within the last year, AMEX had about 3 or 4 of these for Carnival / Princess and I used it all 4 times for the same cruise all the way from deposit, to main payments, to shore excursions. Probably saved like $500 all together

  6. I don't think the Carnival credit card is worth it. It's only good when you initially get approved and get the bonus points.

After that there is absolutely nothing special about it and many other cards have better points / rewards system.

I can get more cash back on my Amex in 6 months than I could on the Carnival card in 2 years. Then I could just cash out and use that for cruise related purchase.

    Hello!

This will be our 18th cruise but our first on Princess.  We have cruised on Disney, Norwegian, Royal, and Carnival.  We are Platinum on Carninval.    Anyone have any particular tips we should know?   We will have a 7 year old with us.  Do they have a good kid's club?  Carnival is has a lot of trivia games and ship sponsered games.  Does Princess have activities like that?  Are there medals and trophies?  How are the shows, the food, the pool?  Any and all advice appreciated!

    Thank you!

What time of year are you traveling?

My wife and I have done 16 cruises similar to you on Carnival, Royal, NCL, and Disney. Just now did our first cruise on Caribbean Princess.

We are in our 30's and found much of the passengers to be much older...like my grandparents age. It's not a bad thing and that's what we wanted to get away from our kid and other kids. There were barely any kids onboard ...I could probably count them all on my hand. We passed by and peeked into kids club several times especially the one for 6 yr olds since that is how old our son is and they were always completely empty... nobody there.

We also didn't find many activities that related to us. Not saying that there aren't any. There was a really funny commedian but he was only there 1 night.

  8. So how was the Premium WiFi on the Glory?

Will be on it in June, 2019 and wondering if they already have the upgraded internet or will get it by that time?

I just got off the Caribbean Princess which has MedallionNet and that was amazing. Perfect coverage everywhere and speeds as fast as my internet at home.

  9. It's impossible. We just got off the ship in FLL yesterday. Did the self walk off as soon as it became available. Did the CBP app and went through that line which was totally empty. Went straight to taxi/shuttle. Southwest terminal was the first in the stop list and we still walked into the airport at 8:40 AM. Then still had to check bags and go through security.

  10. I just did my first cruise on Princess but it's my 16th overall. I have been on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, NCL, and Disney. With that said, the food was fine at the buffet. At this point I really didn't see any difference between all the other lines. It truly seems all the same or similar.

What I found strange is that the buffet area is kind of small. There are two identical sides to it but they are not connected from inside so if there are no tables then you have to go outside in order to get to the other side.

Also there are tons of tables outside but no drink stations to get water, iced tea or coffee.

Also the staff now want you to wash your hands prior to entering the buffet but there are only 2 sinks...when there are alot of people that causes a line...

  11. I know this has been asked before but since wireless providers and cruise lines constantly update plans, etc....question is:

As of right now, with Verizon Wireless, is it even possible to get any cellular data service at all on Liberty of the Seas?

According to VZW only SMS, MMS, and Voice is available. They don't even show 2G service anymore.

I want to be able to have phone service turned on at least partially to be able to communicate with our house / pet sitters in case of emergency but don't want any rogue data charges other than per SMS send/receive charge.

WiFi package is way too expensive considering I will have full 4G service with my own data allowance for $5/day in Mexico and $10 in Honduras.

So just need to plan for the sea days only...

Is it possible to get WiFi per day instead of for the whole trip?
