You make sense!  More places to fill a ship now!  It’s so convenient for us and was in my heaven with the Royal being here … but yea, the prices were great!

Instead of keeping the Royal here in San Francisco, they give us the Crown.  We, too, love the Royal.  Of course, they'd rather give SoCal the nicer newer ships (Discovery).

We never met Roshawn and we went there three times.

Jackson was still there although, it looks as though Silvija was in charge.

BTW, we looked for you in the port.  I kept asking everyone if their name was Allan.  One day we will actually meet in person.

SFPD is stationed curbside for traffic control

Absolutely!  Our group went yesterday and Silvija, the manager of Alfredo’s took care of us!  Wow .. she was so good and very personable.  We all ordered variations of what was on the menu.

So Silvija took over for Jackson?  If you recall, was Roshawn one of the servers?

I had no idea … I wish I’d have known.  We’d have loved to meet you in person.  Well, now you know what we look like and we cruise out if SF all the time so, you’ll have to stop us and introduce yourself.
I am the blonde and our neighbors and good friend were with us.
we happen to be on the Diamond right now with that good friend.

I wish I had known too.  I was with my brother and our mom - the table for 3 next to you.  If I recall, you had a fifth person one night.  We'll be on Royal again in April.  Have fun on the Diamond.  We sailed her during her inaugural season.

See you on the next one.  And you know I always post on the cruises that I'm working.

I am on Royal Princess 10 day Mexico on 6th Jan 2022. How early can I board? Any feedback from SF past guests highly appreciated.

I worked traffic control for the cruise prior to ours (we're sailing Jan 6th too - I think you mean 2023 not 2022).  I was expecting the worst since they are at near capacity.  It went surprisingly well.  A little before 11am, they were already calling elite and suites to begin boarding.  About 15 minutes later, the next group (platinum maybe? I didn't hear the announcement) was allowed to board.  (Yes, I snuck into the terminal to get warm - it was freezing outside).  Then again, the prior cruise was at around 50% capacity, so probably a quicker turnaround.

This may be a dumb question, but it's been a long time since we did an ocean cruise.

Sailing on the Royal on 02 March out of San Francisco.  Can we drop our luggage off and check in later to board?

Sure.  Why not?  Give your luggage to the porters, and instead of waiting in line to get into the terminal, go and explore the area and return later.

Good to hear that you might get a decent lobster tail in the MDR.

And, yes, if it is the way they have usually done it, Prime Rib is on the first embarkation night, and the 2nd Formal Night is when they have had the Beef Wellington and the Lobster tail.

On our last cruise, that was when they did the 'Mongolian BBQ' custom stir fry to order at the Buffet.

It's now chili on the first night.  At least it is for the seven day cruises.

  8. Thanks everyone.  I finally gave in and downloaded the app onto my phone.  I am now able to finish checking in.  Just wish the October booking would have shown up on the web version so I wouldn't have to use the tiny buttons on my phone.  I knew my friends on cruisecritic would show me the way!

Your new booking takes a couple of days to populate in the MC App.

    Recheck it again today.

If it’s not showing yet.  Do your checkin on the website…

in the cruise personalizer, right below the APP buttons area… says Try our web version on the website.

I have been using the web version because I haven't downloaded the app on my phone yet.  I guess I'll just wait a few more days.  Thank you bafinegan and PacnGoNow

  10. MedallionClass App Help!

We booked a last-minute cruise scheduled for October 16th.  When I get to the guest check-in page on the cruise personalizer, it shows the October cruise and tells me to use the MedallionClass App to check-in.  However, when I click on it, it takes me to the check-in for my January 6th cruise.  What am I doing wrong?  Can someone please guide me in the right direction?

  11. Our last cruise was pre-pandemic, so naturally our FCC purchased on that cruise has expired and was refunded.  We are currently booked on a January cruise (without any FCC).  We might jump on a last-minute cruise mid-October.  So if I purchase FCC while on this last-minute cruise, can I apply it to the January cruise?  I believe final payment for the January cruise is due BEFORE the start of the last-minute cruise.
