  1. 😧Oh no! Is "our" 3 week cruise is over already? The time honestly just flew by.😊 Thank you so much Dr. Koob for taking us all along your Mediterranean adventure. I loved your in depth posts and your pix and it just made me want to pack a bag for another VOC cruise right this very moment. Welcome home!!!πŸ‘‹
  2. Oh thinking of you TayanaLorna! I hope you are safe and get your power back as soon as possible. Truly sending good wishes your way.😍
  3. 😳Oh my goodness. What weather you have encountered! I hope things are fine with the ship and everyone stays safe.🀞
  4. Your photos are awesome and you're going to need a VERY large coffee table to make a book with all of your glorious pix!😊
  5. Oh it's the most lovely weather in early November! Truly my favorite time of the year in the Mediterranean. We have sailed that route many a time and most of the days are sunny and warm. You should bring a sweater/light jacket with a hood but I found almost all of days to be in the high 60s or low to mid 70s and delightful. I also check the 10 weather forecast on line of the cities we are visiting just in case there is an unusual cold snap or warm front to double check I'm packing the right clothes. Enjoy. Enjoy Enjoy!!
  6. πŸ‘‹Hi Jim! Thank you so much for explaining the exact the situation and locations regarding the alternative Venice ports. I have been avoiding looking at any future cruise that begins or end in Venice as the logistics have all been a mystery to me until now. The information you posted is invaluable so thanks so much!😊
  7. Hopeless for sure and will have to stick with "The Med" "Head Waiter" and " Appetizers" forever.πŸ€”
  8. Ahaaaa!! Even with googling it I can't get it right!πŸ˜†πŸ˜†
  9. 🀭Maitre de, Mediterranean, and hors d'oeuvres are the impossible to spell with out googling them first!πŸ˜…
  10. Oh your poor Kathleen! The only thing worse than being sick at home is being sick while you are away. I'm glad to hear that she has rounded the bend and is feeling a little better.πŸ™‚
  11. πŸ˜‰Haahaa yes! And then you can drink what you stomp!🍷
  12. I don't know if you have any extra time in Corfu but I had a "fish pedicure" there and it was fun! No toenail painting involved.. just little fish nibbling at your heels.πŸ˜ƒ
  13. πŸ‘Yay! DrKoob! So glad to see that you are blogging and I love your play by play style.πŸ€— I'm looking forward to following along for the next 3 weeks as your journey unfolds. Thanks for taking us along! P.S. I'm sure the bed will get softer and the Dining Room better.😊
  14. πŸ‘‹Hi again! Happy I found that extra pic in the cemetery for you. Looks like French to me? Not 100% sure. That is amazing that your guide was the child of a survivor.. I think there were only about 150 of them who lived. I love to read and hear about Righteous Gentiles too.. I was anxious to include pictures of the two Turkish ones who did what they could to protect the Jews.
  15. Just as an aside.. way back on page nine I corrected that the medical symbol that we saw in Ephesus signifying that there were doctors who practiced in the city as a Rod of Asclepius and not a Caduceus. It's funny how coincidental travel experiences weave in and out of vacations. A few weeks ago we were on a trip out west and went to the Museum of Clean in Pocatello, Idaho. I saw this bust with an explanation of who Hygeia was and who her father was.. the aforementioned Asclepius (Aesculapius?) P.S. If you are ever in Pocatello you must visit The Museum of Clean! It was awesome!!
  16. πŸ‘‹Hello May B! I'm so glad that you enjoyed my report and all of the fun that followed... it truly was a wonderful cruise! As far as the headstones.. I'm so sorry but I don't have any information about the inscriptions. I don't read Hebrew so I don't know where Leah Mazal Tov is written and the guide didn't mention it. Since you missed the cemetery I went back through my pix and there was one I didn't include which was a Holocaust memorial. I enlarged the words so you could see what it said.😊 Safe and happy travels to you always too!!😍
  17. πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈHi SantaFe1! We were on "Iconic Western Mediterranean" last fall and took the all day tour to Carcassonne and it was fantastic! It was a pricier than the usual shore excursion for us but well worth it as it's a full day and includes lunch too. Like you I had always wanted to go there (after seeing it on numerous travel shows) and was so happy that Viking offered it as a tour. πŸ€— Have fun and happy Bday or in Carcassonne Bon anniversaire!πŸŽ‚
  18. I'm still smiling thinking about my parents (huge Wagner fans) so thank you so much for that one!
  19. I love that reference.. my parents were huge opera fans and The Flying Dutchman was one of their faves!πŸ˜ƒ
  20. Wow.. glad to hear and no surprise at all that Viking took care of "their flock" with kindness and generosity. I'm so glad your (and all the passengers and crews) story had a happy ending. Happy that you were able to cruise again and obviously still enjoy it so much! πŸ˜ƒ
  21. Oh my goodness! Can't believe you were on that. I followed that story so closely and watched a ton of videos on youtube about it! What a fright that must have been.😬
