Dear OP. I realize that time constraints may be a problem, so you would have to fly, but we live near you (Braselton), but always drive in the day before. FLL is very doable. Houston is possible, but best with shared drivers.

Thanks everyone !

We are taking our lucky 7th cruise this month, our first on Princess. Do we use our card to operate the laundry machines, or do we need coins? Thanks and Happy Cruising!:)

Thank you very much for sharing this endeavor with us. Your work is beautiful. I am looking forward to seeing the "sea trials", but of course , only in the best possible conditions. Thank you again

My understanding is that we take the excursion boat through the rest of the canal, then rejoin the ship via bus, in Colon. We are doing this next month and will report back. We've been told by other CCers that this is a good trip.

I am ecstatic to read all these great comments about the Island. We are sailing her next month for a partial transit, with the excursion that goes all the way through. This will be our first Princess cruise, and can't wait to leave behind the gloomy weather here in Georgia.

We did the round trip canal cruise in April on the Island. We didn't do the full transit because that would have involved flying back to Florida from California and an extra 4 days on the ship - both expenses I wasn't interested in incurring - and flying - forget it. So we took the ferry excursion tha picked us up at the Gatun Yacht Club and took us to a ferry by bus where we traveled s all the way through all of the locks to the Pacific. It was FABULOUS. So up close and just a great trip. There was always plenty of free refreshments available the entire excursion. There were six if us and we all loved it. I would do it again. Just my opinion though. Barb
Barb--a thank you to you and all the others for the info. We are doing the partial transit in Feb on the Island, with the small boat excursion to the Pacific, and now I am even more excited by this , if possible!:)

We live in North Georgia also and FLL is the farthest we go, and it is doable only if you leave really early to get through Atlanta, altho the HOV lane is very helpful.
Enjoy your cruise, you'll hate getting off that ship

Thanks! I am looking forward to more pictures

Thank you so much. I love Vision and hope to sail her again some time.

I sailed Vision once, in January of this year, and had a fabulous time. Love the pictures--I had no idea the refit would be so extensive, and never imagined the reupholstering was done on board. I guess I thought all new was coming in. Amazing.

Thank you so much. I love Vision and can't wait to see more.

Ok, as far as I am concerned, this is pretty close to the "end of summer", when are we going to get some official news?
-
I love it. Thanks for the update.

I don't really care for any of the names they have registered, but I really like Symphony of the Seas, or Song of the Seas if that sounds too intellectual. Plus it is sort of a throwback to Song of Norway.

Looking forward to the rest of your review.

I am very much looking forward to your photos of Monarch, the ship that got me hooked on cruising.
-
Wow, I made it this far and I feel just the opposite. I LOVE it. It's like no ship I've ever seen I find it very elegantly retro and much more detailed in a beautiful way than those larger than the Radiance class ships. I was thinking what a shame it will be when they take her in for her makeover this fall. Or maybe they won't rip out the best parts.
Who needs a concierge lounge?
Gina
I feel exactly the same way.
As for the cookies, we were limited to 2 at the Lattetudes, but not charged.

Welcome back, John. I , too, am always thrilled to see your updates, esp as I have sailed on Voyager. Beautiful craftsmanship !

Hello Darth--We returned from our 11 night cruise 3 days ago, and I am wistfully reviewing your beautiful photos. Ours are mainly of people-fillled activities, and yours show Vision in all her glory. I wish I could say we'll be back on her after the refit, but with a home port in Colon, it seems doubtful. Thanks again for your terrific review. And yes, we had a splendid time.

5 !!!!! Yippee!

I am really enjoying your review. DH and I just booked this itinerary for next year. It will be our first Princess cruise, and we are really excited about it. Looking forward to the rest of your beautiful pictures.

Just found this review today and have enjoyed it very much. Going on her next June and was a bit apprehensive since she is so old. Much more at ease. She looks great.
I a few mention going next June. Anyone going on the June 19th Russia and the Baltics? We are looking for a couple more to join us for some tours.
Have you checked out the Roll Call for your cruise? There may be some like-minded folks there.

I am SO enjoying your review. The ship looks wonderful. We are going to toally different ports, all new to us, but now I am planning on looking for these ports for a future cruise. Love, love , love Trafalgar Falls. Thank you so much for doing this.
Vision does look small next to the other ships, but I am a true believer in " Nice things come in small packages."
Has anyone taken this Panama Canal Excursion?
in Princess Cruises

We are taking this excursion in 10 days, so I find this very interesting. We will bring water and maybe some snacks, and be much better prepared after getting all this great info.
Thanks very much everyone !
