  1. Can I throw in a cruise that I'm totally selfish in looking at? June 1 or June 8 2025 Getaway sailing to Bermuda out of NYC. This is kind of how my whole B-Day cruise deal started. And, it's NYC, which will be helpful to some of you. And, it's to Bermuda, which I dearly love. Thoughts?
  2. As a perfect example, on my last cruise, I bought transport to and from the airport to the ship for a Bermuda cruise out of NYC. When I got to the meeting place at the airport for transport, I was not listed on their manifest. I did not argue with the boarding agent. I just showed them the Amenities Sheet showing where I had purchased transport. End of discussion.
  3. May or may not need the Amenities Sheet. Actually, you can print it from your reservation page. It should show everyone on the same reservation, their perks, their purchase options (like VIBE or FAS+). If there are deviations from that sheet, you have a copy of everything due to you. And, you can correct them with that proof of what you're owed. Generally speaking, it's much more preferable to do it before boarding. If, as in this case, you added someone to the reservation, or changed something since booking, you have proof of those changes. This is all speculation, but my guess is having FAS+ and VIBE access for a solo, would not transfer over to having it changed for 2. After the changes were made, a new reservation sheet should have been emailed showing the changes. Those changes would also be reflected in the Amenities Sheet. A, "I took care of it", by a PCC should never be accepted as proof. The career for a PCC is usually short lived. Turnover is high (as in most commission sales positions). The PCC who said "I'll take care of it" might not even be there as a PCC before he/she can actually take care of anything. As most things, having it in writing will preclude any confusion.
  4. Yeah. Should be on the eDocs. I'm a big believer in redundancy. I bring a sheet with all the amenities on it, too. That shows things like FAS, VIBE, etc. I have the amenities sheet with me when I check in at the port. Until I get everything all sorted at check in, I probably wouldn't leave until all that is rectified. No way I'd board with a blank key card.
  5. First thing I thought, too. Any time you change things at the last minute, the chances of "stuff" going sideways increases. As Bird says, the Amenities Confirmation would show all of what you agreed to....giving you time to rectify any discrepancies before boarding. Part of my "routine" is to contact the reservations desk pre-cruise to get that sheet to have a physical copy to show Guest Services.
  6. I've never, on any cruise ship, on any cruise line, been happy with the Guest Services line/desk. It's the very definition of an oxymoron!
  7. I welcome all reports, good and bad. I LOVE your reviews. They are upbeat and bring back lots of fond memories of places I've also visited. But, this 2nd leg of your trip is inexcusable on NCL's part. Again, this is a total failure of the ship's upper management. From the toilet, to the service to the condition of your cabin, totally unacceptable. I sometimes read posts by folks who whine about things and I just shake my head wondering if they're 12 years old or adults. This? This experience is just a failure by NCL....all the way around! As an ongoing and frequent guest of NCL, this really ticks me off!!!!
  8. That June Viva sailing looks high. VIVA is a new ship, though. 10 day sailing, too. I just don’t like those fares, not even a little! If you’re stuck on this cruise, I’d wait for a while and monitor fares. They might not come down given it’s a Viva sailing, though!
  9. You’ll get no arguments from me…by a damn big margin, to boot!
  10. I know. I keep thinking I should go back to LeBistro, but they haven't given me a reason to do so. I've heard their steak is decent, but it comes with foie gras, which I'm definitely not a fan of. Maybe the escargot? I've heard it's good. French Onion soup is good, but I can get that at Cagney's, too. So, why bother at all?
  11. I put all the doilies on the furniture…so, all fancied up awaiting your arrival!
  12. National Holiday, perhaps? LOL! Looking at those cruises now!
  13. We could go off on a whole litany of jokes about Ward, June and the Beav!!!!!! Not saying I would, but I could!!!! 😉
  14. True....you did NOT order an entre at Cagney's. So, you owe ME that dinner back in my Latitudes account. Always wondered if they'd let me dine inside if I dressed like "Madea" or Eddie Izzard?
  15. IKR? Just silly! In all frankness, I know I'm in the minority, but I've never had a good meal in LeBistro. Two in particular stand out...one, Coq a Vin....so salty I literally choked with my first bite. The 2nd I had Lobster Thermador. They broke the sauce and it was a greasy, unappetizing mess. They brought another, same thing. The Maitre 'D came by and gave me a dining credit after seeing it for himself. I never found a good reason to go back. In both cases I ended up going to the Garden Cafe. So, for all intents and purposes, I have no reason to put long pants on to go to LeBistro, unless of course I owe a LeBistro dinner to @Sugar Magnolia and @debenson0723, which they will make a point of not letting me forget. When I have dined there al fresco, I could literally see the diner next to me in the window. If there weren't a window there, we could have toasted each other without even reaching. I'm welcomed in to Cagney's in shorts. LeBistro? Nope..unless I'm outside. Just laugh at the absurdity of it.
  16. My valet throws dirty socks into my burlap potato sack and ships it to the wrong address just so he can get a chuckle every time I cruise!
  17. The other issue with formal wear (suits, too), aside from being uncomfortable compared to shirts, shorts, tennis shoes, etc, is for those of us who have to fly into ports. That means more luggage. For just me, as a solo, I could not do carryon only, which means luggage fees with the airlines. Plus, you have to schlub another large piece of luggage to and from the ship. Good luck keeping that formal wear unwrinkled, too!
  18. I have a whole closet filled with suits, and even a tux. Up until about decade ago, I wore them all weekly, mostly daily! What I learned was regardless of the cost or cut of the suit, or the shine of their shoes, none of those were ever a good gauge of who the person wearing them was! So, hard for me to see how it’s in any way important to wear anything that isn’t totally comfortable on a cruise ship, regardless of how “formal” someone thinks everyone should be!
  19. I've relayed this story before. This happened quite a few years ago on a Royal cruise. It had been a while since most got dressed up for "formal night". But, I'm of the mind you dress as you like....your vacation. Not a lot of folks, but a few dressed up in Tux/Gown. One such couple was getting their picture taken. I was waiting to the side for their pics to be done vs cutting in front of or behind them. As I was standing there, the lady warned me not to cut into their pic as I would ruin their ambiance. Should have let it go, but I didn't. I proceeded to tell her that I was not part of their background and wasn't sailing to affect the "ambiance of their cruise". She was rather speechless and the husband demurred and looked down and away as this exchange happened. Moral of the story....dress as you like. You won't ruin my pictures if you're in a suit, tux, dress, gown. And, I won't consider you part of my background as I sure ain't part of yours, no matter what you think, do or say. I do believe it's disrespectful to try to dictate how others should dress on vacation. If a hat bothers you, find a venue that doesn't have anyone wearing a hat. If shorts bother you, find a space that there are no shorts being worn. I do draw the line at dirty fingernails, over powering cheap cologne and perfume, however.
