Seriously this new Premier price is ridiculous. My husband drinks beer so that he can have a few without getting drunk. Plus his coffee and he loves his water so it was worth getting the package. Not anymore. If we continue to cruise with princess then we will avoid anything Princess as in tours, shopping etc... very disappointing.
Also is it correct that our Sip and Sale promotion is for softdrink and not alcohol?? Not the same as the US??

We buy the package for my husband as the only sip and sale promotion here in Australia and New Zealand is for softdrinks. I wont go into that as it is so unfair.
We buy the package for my husband so that we can relax on our holiday and not count costs... no bill at the end.
The package has increased to about $30 a day... and then limited... I can understand it being limited but not the huge increase.
We wont be buying and we will look at other cruise lines. We are elite so it is disappointing.

We have a 38 night cruise next year and the drinks package for that will now cost $3400 for my husband. That is all he ever wants on a cruise... Thats the price of another holiday. Very disappointed.

It is definitely the photographer's eye that is important but from my experience a good camera helps. Sometimes photoshop as well :)
I would love to know what camera you are using as well. Recommendations are good.

Some travel agents (can't mention names) offer a guaranteed lowest price (for a fee of course) if the cabin price drops after you pay. It's like insurance to make sure you get the lowest price offered even after you pay your finals. Good luck with a balcony upgrade!
If its the same one I know about, its a one time deal so you can only change once, so you have to decide when to take it. Also the cost is not so cheap...

I have booked! I am going on Quark's 23rd November Falklands/St Georgia/Antarctica cruise on the Ocean Endeavour. I was lucky. They reduced the price last week, then Qantas put on a sale for airfares to Sth America. Everything fell into place for me. I just have to pick up a few personal items - snow pants, new thermals, gloves. The trip is expensive, but I am sure it will be worth it. :)
We are booked for Feb'18 from an early bird sale with Quark, last year and its still a great price. Just grabbed cheap AirNZ flights. We have the thermals, just gotta put in the order for our jacket and boots..
It will be interesting to hear about your trip.

We are booked with Quark for Feb'18 and it is definitely cheaper than Ponant. I am looking forward to the whole expedition feel as opposed to my normal cruising life.
At the end of the day, we all do what we feel that is right for us and within our budget. With a 38 night cruise 6 months later we have to be good...:)

It was rough going around the horn for us early this year. However we are all booked for Feb18 on Quark to visit Antarctica. Not looking forward to the crossing but I hear its really worth it.

Loved Halifax. The Titantic and the explosion were such big events from the past.

We are cruising the Antarctica on an expedition ship in Feb and I am very worried about a rough crossing. I will take the advice above and if need be there is a doctor onboard. :( :)

Captain Phillpot renewed our vows on Queen Victoria, June 2012, in the Mediterranean. He and my husband seemed to have a bit to talk about. Maybe something to do with the racing cars.... Then we were invited to sit at the Captains table which was nice. A Great cruise

It depends as I usually do it early but I was knocked back the last time as too early and told to wait till 90 days out.

We had a great fish and chip lunch on the Crown recently, going around South America....

Thanks for the blog, great pics.
How do you get 49 ship photos and you are only halfway through your cruise.
Looking at booking on this ship. We loved The Royal. We know this one is a lot different but that can be part of the appeal.

Yes I appreciate your site and I have forwarded the link to friends.

I had noticed the limits on both the Harmony and La Mer menus. Limits are also present at SHARE and the Salty Dog. I hope the trend doesn't spread to the Crown Grill and Sabatini's.

We are just back from a South American cruise on the Crown and we were not allowed to order more than one main at the Crown Grill - so some people would order the lobster and the partner would order the steak and they would then share. Not ideal...

We board tomorrow so it has been interesting to follow your blog. Our Princess land tour to Machu Picchu has been wonderful and I highly recommend it.

Loving hearing and seeing your South American holiday :)

Our well known cruise agent did not send the final payment in time and our trip was cancelled... After 3 days of stress we had everything back but were on the other side of the ship. Compensated a few hundred US dollars but not happy. We will continue on and enjoy the ship. Leaving tomorrow for the Machu Picchu part of the trip.
They did have to fight to get everything back as MP and Iguazu Falls were sold out.. I think we were lucky to get it all rebooked....
Not a good agent all the way through.... she has lost us...
Sorry I diverse... glad it got sorted...

We board on the 15th after Machu Picchu, so I am glad to see you post the patters. Good to see there are still movies being shown in the Princess theater. And good to see whats happening. Thanks :)

Yes, I have noticed the exchange rate has changed since early this year. I am not sure why a previous comment was, that it's cheaper to buy on the ship given the exchange rate for the Aussie dollar... we will be good either way..
