Just an opinion from someone who has only cruised a few times but loves it.
Everything has gone up in price -- The don't 'push' formal night so why pay to cover chairs for people who might come in casual clothes.
I won't be in a neptune lounge so.... doesn't effect me.
I'm not snooty or picky about what kind of wine or meet I eat, so if its yummy and cooked for me a served to me and cleaned up by someone else - I'm pretty happy.
I love a vacation, travel flexible and don't over expect.
I don't care what day of the week it is so I don't need a mat to tell me.
I want great service - a nice room and pleasant staff.
Like I said -- just my opinion

glad cheep wine doesn't bother me at all -- no need to carry it on and no need to pissed at the wine change.
-
I am thankful that I can roll with the punches easily -- coffee is coffee to me and having room service bring it is fine. I have not had a bad cup or 'too cool' cup ever on a cruise.

lots of you live and drink way differently than we do - I've seen the 'drink menu' and most of what I'd be interested in is on that list. A glass of wine at dinner is nice and we drink '3 buck chuck' at home so wouldn't buy the expensive stuff. If my drinks are prepaid I will probably have a few -- if I have to pay at the end of the cruise will have a lot less.
The TA says our price (Alaska 4/14) was not effect by the promo so I'm good with the whole idea --
will be interesting to see what HAL does with this

We love the crows nest on all the Dam ships and can't imagine the one on the Oosterdam will be any different.

Will the 6.95 or 5.95 priced drinks meet the 7.00 limit for the Explore4 promotion when you add the 15%?
good question -- I would think gratuity doesn't count but.... I don't know
I do have to wonder what all the complaining about explore 4 drinks is -- everything is under 7 almost

how could we find out if and who is at the piano bar on a specific cruise??
-
very interesting - we don't gamble and aren't big drinkers but if I can't do a balcony pretty sure I'm not going.

what a useless circle of an argument - really
Alaska cruise next May- booked 2 months ago with TA -- no added cost on this end. That's all I know
-
It's nice for the newbies to know what the other costs might be -- really cool to see it all spelled out
We don't drink much - splurge a little but don't spend 20 for a bottle of wine
thanks for the info

Life is too short to be Penny Parinoid -- soap and water are great -- a little sanitizer never hurt anyone -- too much sanitizer causes more problems -- and they don't work ask the medical profession
-
just leave your clothes on --really????
-
I agree -- to only have a 2 top the entire cruise -- pick a time and sit in the main room with closed seating.
-
I agree 100 percent !!!!
Cost Cutting in full Swing

new perspective -- you can't miss what you don't have --we are fairly new cruisers and I think the experience is wonderful -- can't imagine a first time cruiser going home and saying -- sure wish they would have had mats with the day on them.
