  1. I plan on doing a Maho Beach excursion on my upcoming cruise. I just wanted up to date information about the experience as the threads here are a little dated. Is there enough time to travel from cruise port to beach bar for the day, enough time to see some bigger planes land/take off I here theirs a board at a bar just like inside the airport showing arrivals and departures, which is the best bar to chill at for the best plane experience, so on and so forth? The more important question we all want to know is if it was worth it to get off the ship?

Yes it was a 1 night stand that lasted 4 or 5 days at the time, after a few days she asked me if I wanted a ride to the airport. We stayed in touch and hooked up some time later, after that she became my ex-wife of 6.5 years (no kids) we are still FB friends today.

  3. I disembarked myself in FLA on time after boarding in NY, I didn't say anything to anyone. I had met a woman who convinced me to stay with her for a few days instead of going to the Bahamas that I have been to  many times. I never heard anything till after my next cruise at CBP, they brought me to secondary said I was in all kinds of trouble, the only think to happen to me was a stern talking to, a $300 fine and I got a really big stamp in my passport in big red letters that said PSVA Violation across 2 pages, and that was it. Coolest passport stamp I'v gotten so far.

How to survive if you fall off a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean, according to a survival expert (msn.com)

Since this seems to be a particular problem with Carnival ships, thought I would share:

    1. Don't panic.  Try not to take in water into your lungs by gasping when you first hit the water.

    2. Try to find anything that floats to hold on to.

    3. Try to find something to make a signal so you are more visible to rescuers. Like arranging a bunch of trash around you.

    This advice is tremendously astute.

  5. It is what it is we all saw this coming a long time ago. My only concern is the final price, the ship and the itinerary in that order. Itineraries last because I’ve been to all the Caribbean ports that I go to dozens of times my biggest concern is the overall final price and the ship because many times I don’t even get off the ship in the Caribbean.
