Well sailing on the 29th of this month we will be some if the first to see if the promised changes materialise or if it’s just smoke and mirrors. Will feed back.

Wonderful to follow your trip. It brings back so many happy memories of our trip on 2017 to Japan. Wonderful country and absolutely lovely people who go out of their way to genuinely welcome you. We will be on the Millie again in 4 weeks when she reaches Singapore, but until then enjoying your trip and fabulous photos. Thank you for sharing.

What’s port or starboard? Thought there were only aft cabins.

This is something we have not yet tried but looks great and planning to in 5 weeks. I really must read what perks we get with captains club we must miss out on so much! That’s why cruise critic is so useful, I have time to read the threads but never seem to have time while cruising to read all the literature they leave.

I’m all for people being heard but it just gets so repetitive from the same people and the same comments. Getting kinda boring to be honest
As you seem to be an expert on all the comments and the people who make comment. Would you care to elaborate on what you think are interesting or acceptable comments ?

But they can. And they will still fill sailings to capacity. The small group of dissenters here think they are representing what the rest think. They aren't. There's a poster that has mentioned canopies a dozen times. 90% couldn't care less about canopies. We're the next generation of X. The stuffy over expecting last generation will move on. We're going to divide our cruises between VV and X. No or few kids, and fewer stuffy oldies every x cruise going forward. I've met some great people on X, they are too busy living to waste reading the drive here. I'm joining them, not you. I thought CC would be informational. Nope, just drama.
One day you will be a dissenter when the ultra expensive cruise you booked and paid for has changed beyond all recognition when you finally board. Then you just may understand what the stuffy over expecting generation were trying to preserve. Until then enjoy what you have because it won’t last.

If they selected who got the emails asking for submitted questions, it was probably not random. They maybe had a %negative comments score here on CC as a criteria. The lower, the better. Haha most posters here would have been excluded! LOL.😀
I am elite and was asked to submit questions. I can assure you my questions were strongly focused on the points of discontent and concerns that have been discussed here many times.

My take away is a) Celebrity addressed the hot topics and did so quite well, and b) some people just like to complain and be continually pissed off that things change.
They may have spoken of a few chosen topics but addressed them? No not at all, this was all corporate spin or smoke and mirrors. People are not complaining, they are unhappy with the changes and voting with their feet.

Not me - we would never book a cruise for Coco Key. I'm sure some enjoy it and I respect that BUT not our thing
Not our thing either. We have also booked our first cruise in over 20 years with a different company after sailing with Celebrity or Azamara are going with MSC in the yacht club. We are only elite, (would never be able to reach the lofty heights of zenith) but sadly Celebrity is just not what it was for us. I just wonder how many more have done so?

Though it a bit disingenuous to say the up charge in the MDR was due to a divide between some family members wanting to eat in the speciality restaurant and some in the MDR so they decided to charge in the MDR for steak and lobster! But liked the honesty about the infinite balcony split with some hating it. Also interesting that Edge 5 may have more real balconies. But who are all these loyal guests that asked for Coco cay?

I have them every day as a starter on all our cruises for the last 20+ years. One of my highlights, after a few days the waiters don’t bother to ask they just bring them. I would be so sad if the discontinued them. It’s the only time I ever eat them. It’s dipping the bread into the garlic sauce that’s the filler.

They did on solstice last week, if that helps.
Great thanks, that’s a relief if there is nothing else I like 😊

Enjoying it very much, sorry not been posting!! The staff and butlers are exceptional. Celebrity will have to up its game to keep me booking with them. I was looking at booking MSC Euribia April 2025 and No YC balcony cabins available. The future cruise concierge (there are 3 of them) comes to YC for approx 2 hours every evening and will let me know if anything changes/ becomes available.
We were looking at exactly the same, completely sold out already! 🥲

Well that was a short lived trial, crumbs! Any guesses what the next trial will be?

This really is scraping the barrel. Celebrity cruises is rapidly becoming a laughing stock. Luxury line, more like a thrift store line? It’s actually embarrassing to say we will be cruising with them, but only once more because we are fully paid up then onto something with a little more class. The pathetic explanation of it being an experience like cooking with mom is even more cringeworthy. Celebrity how low can you go?

I saw a picture of tonight’s menu. I said the same thing to my husband. How much chicken and steak can I eat on a 14 night cruise. I did see a vegetarian section at the end which adds a few more choices in (if you are a mushroom fan)
I can maybe just about manage chicken steak and salmon on rotation but a scoop of mash as the potato option with carrots and green beans on every meal is pushing things too far.

I know the quality of food is declining but If I am served this in the MDR on Millennium it will be sent back. School dinners looked better than this! I read about the ice cream scoop of mash and the recurring carrot sticks and green beans, but seeing it in reality is dreadful. Just wondering how many complain to the Maitre D’ and if anything is done about it? Or do most just complain post cruise? After 20+ years of cruising if this is the best they can do then our cruising days with X will be over.

Sent an e mail to Celebrity executive office on 5th July and received a reply on 6th July, we are elite so not sure how they process the replies. Some seem to have phone calls and some e mails and some no response at all. I also had a reply to my recent comment about the trial menu changes and our upcoming cruise was in the header so they had clearly ran my name through the database last week.
reply to vaping below.Thank you so much for this valuable feedback. We really appreciate you taking the time to contact the Executive Offices at Celebrity Cruises. This test is currently taking place in the casinos on the Celebrity Equinox and Celebrity Eclipse through August 20th. It is a test at this point, and all feedback is being taking into consideration, so again, thank you.As a brand we will continue to keep our guests as the main focus, and you taking the time to reach out is truly beneficial and appreciated. Again, thank you so much for the feedback provided regarding our recent change.Sincerely,Executive OfficeCelebrity Cruises- 1

It WAS the contract we signed up for. Yes, we can stop booking future sailing but if you're already booked, you locked into that contact that allows X to make passenger unfriendly changes
Sadly I do have to agree with you. But it’s not the way to keep loyalties. As others have pointed out, maybe I’m no longer the age group they are aiming for. But let’s just see who has the most cash to splash? No mortgage, dependants and big pension 😂 I’m sure there are other vacations who are more than willing to take my money.

Again, I have NO issue with them having something less frou frou as a choice on the menu. I'm not a food snob.
Neither am I, but if I wanted burgers I would go to Mc Donald’s, or while onboard the mast grill. That’s not what I pay Celebrity prices for in the MDR.

But not wanting fancy food does not mean someone wants a cafeteria either. Nothing wrong with wanting a hamburger served to you at a table.
Be careful what you wish for, you may just get it.

I agree with your premise yet in our cruise contract it does state they can make changes/removals of menu items, they can practically close the buffet for dinner, add new fees, increase existing fees, etc. There's already been a lot of this for 2023
Just because they can, shouldn’t mean they do. We can also choose to stop cruising as it wasn’t the contract we signed up for.

I want to remind folks that X has confirmed that on sailings that are 7 nights or longer there will be complimentary lobster one Chic night and that beef wellington has been gone since the beginning of the year. The additional charge allows you purchase filet and lobster any night, from the MDR (and prob Blu). Your gripes should be directed to the actual complimentary menu offerings
But it’s not complimentary. Complimentary indicates you are getting something free. We pay for a cruise which includes decent food in the MDR. If I wanted burger and chips for dinner I would pay for that type of holiday, but I pay to have a reasonable (not top notch) evening dinner, or at least I did when booking the cruise. This business of changing the offering after booking has to stop, it’s unethical.

Celebrity MoveUp Offer Tracker - Please Do Not Post Questions Here!

How exactly does this work, does anyone have a definitive answer? I can see cruises sailing after ours have received confirmation of move ups and some people on our cruise on 29th Nov have also received move up bids weeks ago. But our bid and many others are still pending. Is there any method to move up allocations or is it on random days, categories , status etc?
