  1. Considering booking the 6 night Breeze on March 20, 2016, but I'm a little concerned about the college party crowd. We have a 7 and 11 year old, so a nice family atmosphere would be ideal. :)

I have a friend who went on the 8 night last year during our kids' spring break, and she said the crowds were fine, but heard the week before was unprecedented craziness! Our week doesn't coincide with the big FL school breaks, but definitely some other schools.

If I call Carnival, can they give me an idea of the crowds?

This is really the only time we would be able to go, so any advice would be appreciated!

  2. If Florida schools are off, there will be kids, especially on a short cruise- they are cheap to sail, so appeal to families, as will the free kids sailing promotion it sounds like they are running. Have fun!

Thanks! I'm sort of hoping for kids :)

Mine are off Friday, so for a Fri-Mon 3 nighter, they'll miss a day, but I think they'll be OK. They can always do homework on CocoCay...:D

  3. I think you'd be fine! I just took my 3 kids (9,7,2) on Echantment in March and they had a great time! Even without the kids club they had plenty to do and never felt like they had nothing to do! I thought it was kid friendly!

I agree! Enchantment is great for a short cruise for all ages. My kids loved going to movies in the theater, playing in the arcade and swimming. They were never bored.

I have a review you can access in my signature if you'd like to read about our experiences.

    Happy sailing! :)

    Thank you both!

Just curious...did your kids go to the clubs at all? My girls are really close, but 4 years apart and they don't want to be separated. I read there are some times when the groups are mixed ages - do you know if that's true on the Enchantment?

Also, are they special things just for the kids on Coco Cay?

    Thanks again!!

  4. Haven't see it advertised, but kids are coming up free for the Enchantment in September so we are considering booking. My kids (north FL) are off school on Sept 12, but I don't think most schools are.

I'm curious if there are a lot of kids on the Enchantment during the school year. They're pretty easy to entertain and would probably only do the kids club for a little bit, but are there activities for them and will there be enough other kids onboard so we don't stick out as the people with kids?! :D

    Thanks!

  5. We are going to book a short RC cruise and leaving the kids at home with my parents. I'm not so worried about cancellation as I am having to get back home quickly in case of an emergency. Without reading through every policy, is a situation like that usually covered - where the traveler has to fly home due to illness of family member? Is that considered "trip interruption"?

The TA offers travel insurance and RC offers it for less. In the past, we have used Travelex, but I'm not sure what the advantages are of one over the other.

    Any advice? Thanks!

  6. We just got off the Majesty on Friday and we booked one of the caba-nettes which are now $50. We thought it was worth the money for a couple of reasons - most importantly my husband needs the shade. But we especially enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area - no kids running around, no bartenders passing by pushing drinks. Like anything else that costs extra on a cruise, it is personal preference on what is worth spending the money on. We are going on the Oasis in April with family - which includes 2 small children - and are going to check into getting a cabana on Labadee.

Can you tell me a little more about the caba-nette? Is it pretty much just the clamshell top over 2 loungers? Is there a small table or anything?

What was included for the $50? When and where can you reserve them and is it true they go to suite passengers first?

    Thanks!
