  1. Your comments make very interesting reading.

Knowing the Brits ( especially the younger ones) it will be a licence to drink the ship dry  Instead of more profits they could well end up in a loss ;)

Sorry...wrong quote at the top. I was referring to your post #11

  2. We would strongly suggest you carefully watch the price of your cruise between now and final payment. Our experience with the HAL Signature Beverage Package was quite interesting. About a year ago (far in advance) we booked a 38 day Oosterdam Transpacific/Australia/NZ cruise. Our original booking price was a little over $21,000 and got us the "free" Signature Beverage Package. By the time of our final payment, we had twice reduced the price of our cruise to where it was about $12,000. We did have to give up that Signature Beverage Package, but it was hard to justify paying over $9000 for that beverage package :). My message is quite simple. HAL has been messing around with that Signature Package for well over a year, but they often seem to really jack-up the price of a cruise when they have that promotion.

  3. The title of your thread had me intrigued . . . AI? Artificial Intelligence - ships eliminating all hands on deck, going totally computerized? Artificial Insemination - a new service being offered to couples wishing to have the ultimate souvenir from their cruise?

Ah, All Inclusive - I don't know a lot of cruise lines who are all inclusive; while there are certainly promotions, you don't have to book them. Good luck with your cruise choice!

    Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

    Funny :D:D:D

  4. Hope you find the answer

Have you called the cruise line to ask if you can opt out?

Is it for cruises in the next month or further out ??

These are for summer/autumn cruises 2015

  5. The cruises they are pushing here in the Uk are to the Med or the Canaries and include drinks and tips. So as in my original question...what happens if you dont want drinks??? We are used to most things here in rip off Britain. A prime example is not getting your deposit refunded when cancelling a cruise like you can across the Pond.

  6. What cruise line ??

I have not seen many going A.I some offer more inclusive packages

RCI, NCL, Celebrity I can say of straight away. No this is not an add on but already included in the price and boy have the prices gone up. Perhaps this is only happening in Europe?

That would be interesting if I enquired how much they were prepared to reduce the price of the cruise by if I opted out being a T.T

  7. I am trying to talk my husband into going on a cruise via Celebrity (constellation). I've been on one before (NCL) and really enjoyed it, but he's never and he's very hesitant. He thinks it will be filled with a bunch of boring old people :)

My husband felt the same but from our first cruise he was bitten by the cruise bug and we haven't had a land holiday since ( as our main holiday)

Really hope you can talk him into it. :p

  8. LOL....could you imagine the wake that ship would leave??!!

Sent from my iPad using Forums

    The mind boggles!!!!!

Our Transatlantic crossings were a necessity as we don't fly but I loved every minute of them and hope to be able to get back to see some more of America one day.

  9. According to the op there are only 3 cabins left in the next catagory up from her guaranteed catagory. Just wondering what happens when the cruise lines run out of cabins for all the guarantees ? Only 10 cabins left to cover guarantees including upgrades doesn't appear to give the cruiseline much leeway  which begs the question surely they cant sell the remaining 7 cabins or else how will they cover the guarantees?

  10. We're doing our first cruise, my wife is pretty introverted and so we definitely want to try and get a table for two. What it's sounding like is maybe we should have gone with Any Time Dining instead of a set-seating. Catch is we really like the idea of having a set wait staff & things especially as my wife has dietary requirements. Should we be switching or just hunt down the Matre D?

We won't be eating in the MDR every night but certainly want to do it at least once!

Maitre D's are very obliging and will do their utmost to accommodate you.

  11. You seem to be missing the point. Unfortunately there are many people who do seem to think that because you shared a table or sat next to each other on a tender that you are immediately friends. IMHO, the word friend is used far too liberally. It seems some people consider anyone they remotely have had contact with to be a friend.

Yes..we get the message..you like a table for 2. End of!

  12. Hi and welcome to CC and the fun.

Crossing the BOB is a lottery any time of year so nobody can predict really. Just make sure you have plenty of ginger tablets/sweets to suck to relieve the sickness should it strike you and enjoy your 1st cruise and then I'm betting it wont be your last. ;)
