So how do you feel about the Best of the Best dinner where only top suite guests are invited?

Mixed feelings, but not as public as 195 people dining on the promenade deck for all to see...and be required to stay away.  BoB done rather discreetly.

I don't begrudge the world travelers anything they're getting.  I just don't want to be onboard while they're getting it

  2. "Tomorrow a special dinner for World Voyagers. Meet for cocktails in Cabaret Lounge followed by dinner on the Promenade under the lifeboats."

This is why I want no part of any world voyage.

On lines that don't include the gratuity, a portion goes to the "unseen backroom people". In over 50 years of cruising, I have come across several issues of how these general funds are distributed.

If gratuities are NOT included, a portion of what goes to the unseen backroom people?  And what are these "several issues?"

  4. Increased tipping has become a way of life since Covid.  Gratuities are included in your fare.  Still prefer the crew fund for recognizing the crew.  Thanks entire crew, not just the visible ones.

This sounds great and we would love to cruise this area, Just a quick question from downunder, aren’t there hurricanes possible at this time of year?

Yes...for sure.  Once our ship hid in St. John while a hurricane passed over Halifax.  A second time we stayed an extra day in Quebec to let a hurricane pass over a later port where we were due to visit.  Part of the experience.

I think this would be OK, but I'm not a real expert.  Since you start in Canada and end in Miami (one way or the other), it looks legal.

Should be fine.  Quest did a charter for an Aussie cruise agency that went from Montreal to New Orleans many years ago.  A few Americans stowed away and rode along.  No problem.

Firstly, you only need to make reservations for the speciality restaurants. The main dining room (Discoveries) is open table. You just turn up and can usually go in quickly. If you have to wait the entrance is in Discoveries bar so you can sit down & they’ll call you when there’s a table.
Nowadays the reservation desk for the speciality restaurant on embarkation day seems to be in one of those restaurants, on Deck 10 aft, or sometimes just inside Windows buffet - ask at Guest Relations. It’s usually open to book as soon as people are allowed onboard

On Onward in December, it was on the pool deck just outside the door by the Windows entrance, portside.  Ask before or as you board.

The last time we were in a Club Continent bath/shower we were somewhat younger and shall we say more nimble.

Can’t remember if the entrance side of the bath is a solid wall of the same height that allows no easier entry point. If memory serves the side of the tub is rather high and narrow.

Thanks to those who have a better memory or a more recent experience.

    Your memory is correct.

I believe it is CD Eric that leaves in Lima.

Capt G will start with us in Tahiti.  I could be wrong but Capt G has told us this since sailing with him this summer and in FLL just a week ago.

Carl told us he'd be leaving in Tahiti.

Can I just double check - we don't need to checkin online for Azamara Pursuit cruise?  We just show up at the pier?

After multiple cruises with other lines, this just seems weird 🙂

Anything else we need to know?  Leaving for Cape Town soon, cruise starts on 3rd January.

    Not "weird"...easy!😊

Incidentally there’s currently no F&B Manager onboard Onward, there is a back story but unable to repeat it on here.
I would like to think that they will correct this before the World Cruise starts on the 6th January.

They will but Tatiana will be leaving and not benefit from his/her presence.  She's gone quite awhile without a F&B manager.
