Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I believe we may have taken that last RS you mentioned.😀 I am thrilled! As someone who paid the original SS price back in 2022, who knew upgrading to RS 91 days out would be so lucrative?! See you in August!
  2. Cruise ships in Port Richmond is a wild thought! I don't remember the year -- could have been either the 90s or early 00's. Perhaps it was during the post-9/11 "Homeland Cruising" trend when no one wanted to fly anymore. That strategy is worth revisiting, if you ask me...
  3. I do! I only ever took the Zenith from NY, but once as a kid I went down to the Navy Yard to watch the Horizon sail away. How spoiled we were!
  4. Every year I cross my fingers and hope to see the return of roundtrip Caribbean itineraries from Cape Liberty/somewhere in the northeast. With flying the way it is, the "simple" flight to Florida is becoming costly and unreliable enough to make me think twice. It's not only the folks in FL who would prefer to drive to the port! The last time we were able to do that on X was 2012 on the Silhouette, and [back in the day...] on the Galaxy & Mercury out of Baltimore.
  5. I am enjoying reading your review! My husband and I were also on this trip, and we talked in Michaels about our plans in Buenos Aires right before you disembarked. Wonderful cruise but I'm still bitter about the Chilean Fjords!
  6. We also don't drink alcohol and have had this issue before with the drink packages that come with the various promotions. Sometimes they'll do it, sometimes they won't. But I've only ever been successful by asking guest relations on the first day. Bringing information to support your case is probably a good idea, as was mentioned previously. I had not heard of this new "Zero Proof" package, though. Considering how quickly younger people are giving up alcohol I've been waiting to see how Celebrity would react. There are only so many times you can turn down free champagne before you start wondering if you're getting your money's worth.
  7. One more experience won't hurt! We were on the Equinox in April, in the ABC islands off the coast of Venezuela. Remote. The internet on the ship was borderline unusable most of the time - emails were rough, and good luck sending a picture or loading a webpage. My husband needed to take a few meetings on a sea day and he started to panic. To his surprise zoom worked perfectly. Great video quality and not a single problem over the course of multiple hours. Maybe due to the necessity of zoom meetings in today's workplaces (and the ship is a workplace, after all) Celebrity throttled other uses to enable teleconferencing? That's the best explanation I can come up with.
