  1. Thanks for those suggestions. I did sign up for emails but haven’t received any yet. I will give them a call and see if I can wheedle anything out of them.
  2. My wife and I have enjoyed many cruises and are now considering a first one with Viking. I have always booked cruises through a TA before, but our usual TA does not deal with Viking. It seems that most of the main UK cruise travel agents don't deal with Viking Ocean. At the start of the Viking online booking process there's a prominent box for me to enter an offer code. This makes me feel I must be missing out by not using one. I have read through most of the 43 pages of the 'post offer codes' thread in this forum but they seem to be US offers. Can any UK-based Viking cruisers suggest whether I'm likely to get an offer if I wait? I am not used to paying the quoted price with any other cruise lines! Thanks Dave
  3. I have been on the Quest twice recently. On the Montreal round trip at the end of September there were quite a few service issues, although we worked around them and had a good time. On our Panama trip over Christmas things were greatly improved. I think it has taken all this time to (almost) get back to pre-COVID levels of staff experience.
  4. No. I’m three weeks out and can’t yet view my itinerary in the app.
  5. Thanks Soapbox1964. There are still no Boca del Toro excursions showing for our Quest cruise in six weeks time. I'll have to resist my urge to plan everything and be spontaneous instead!
  6. In the Seabourn Source app, tapping Account then Statement lets me view or download the final statements for each of the past few cruises I have taken.
  7. Quest is going to be visiting these two ports a number of times on Panama itineraries over the next few months. Does anyone know if Seabourn has been to these before and what excursions were offered? And as an aside, is there a way to see shore excursions for a cruise I’m not booked on?
  8. If you haven’t been to this area before then the combination of Kusadasi (for Ephesus) and Mykonos would be my suggestion. One of the most fascinating Ancient Greek cities plus a picture postcard Greek island.
  9. It is hard to advise without knowing which ports the two cruises you are choosing between will be visiting.
  10. Although the standard internet plan allows each guest to connect only one device to the internet, you can connect multiple devices to the ship's wifi network and use the app on them. When Quest lost its internet connection completely last month (due to hurricane damage to a satellite dish in Florida) the app stopped working completely, but if the ship has internet the app will work even for guests without internet packages on their devices.
  11. I don't think so. I prepared everything prior to our cruise from Montreal last month, but no one at check-in was interested and insisted on a very cursory check of our vaccination records.
  12. The credit was issued to all passengers because of the considerable itinerary changes. For details of those and other issues we experienced I suggest you read the thread Live from Seabourn Quest Montreal- Montreal started by Catlover54
  13. Thanks fudge. It would be great if you could let me know a little more. Email dwa at dwandmea dot co dot uk
  14. As a result of issues with the Quest voyage ending in Montreal today we have been given a credit against a new booking that has to be sailed within one year. We have an existing booking, deposit paid and balance due soon. We already have our holidays planned for the next year, so no option for an extra Seabourn cruise that soon. Does anyone have any experience of Seabourn being flexible either allowing use of credit against an existing booking or extending the validity period? I will also check with our travel agent when we get home. I realise we could cancel and re-book our next cruise but I suspect the flights (booked through Seabourn) will no longer be available or have gone up in price so losing our deposit as well would make it not worthwhile.
  15. The TV in our Quest Veranda suite is on a swivel stand and a slide out shelf. The problem is that even when pulled out as far as possible you can’t turn the screen more than a few degrees because the side of the screen is obstructed by the side of the cabinet. A definite design flaw!
  16. We were fortunate in being able to book one of the tours today that never appeared on the app. When I went for the port talk yesterday I got the a few minutes early and the speaker had handed out sheets that described three tours: the two on the app plus an extra one to a seafood farm on one of the seven islands. A friend tipped me off that they were taking bookings at the excursions desk upstairs so I skipped the port talk and went straight up and booked. The tour was interesting, although rather different from the provided description. I totally agree with catlover54 that communications are very poor. The same was true with the Internet failure. We were never told that it had been fixed and that to use it again we would need to use the app to select a package again. Only when we overheard other passengers talking about it working again did we ask customer services and sort it out.
  17. Our continuing lack of Internet is a big problem. So many of the ship’s services are dependent on it. The TVs don’t work. The app can’t show menus or shore excursions. They can’t scan our boarding cards as we leave or return to the ship.
  18. No need to bring your own. These are what are provided on Quest, both in suites and by the gangway.
  19. We asked about a second booking a couple of days ago and got one for 8pm that evening.
  20. Revised itinerary showing in app. Saguenay, Baie Corneau, Sept Iles, Havre St Pierre, Gaspie and back to Montreal a day early on 3 rd Oct. Not much of a Newfoundland cruise😩
  21. We too enjoyed an excellent meal at Earth & Ocean yesterday evening. This was the Seabourn experience we had pre-pandemic. We continue to find wines from the complimentary list to our liking. Service is patchy in the main restaurant and Colonnade when busy, but it hasn’t been a big issue for us.
  22. We ate in the main restaurant last night. We enjoyed all the food and wines but the service was very slow. The staff seemed overwhelmed, both in the restaurant and the bars. We find our veranda suite quite spacious. Although the difficulty arranging (or not arranging) excursions for our revised itinerary is understandable, the lack of communication is poor. All excursions for the entire voyage have been removed from the app, and we have no indication when any will become available. Surely they could post a message in the app and a screen in Seabourn Square to save everyone asking the same questions? I guess we’ll have a wander around Trois Rivières this morning and see if anything is clearer by lunchtime.
  23. We had a great check-in experience. In less than 20 mins from leaving our hotel we were in our suite on the ship! They had no interest in Verifly so I had wasted some time preparing that, but the inspection of our vaccination and COVID test documents was cursory. Lovely lunch outdoors at Colonnade. All good so far apart from the very different itinerary that is emerging.
  24. We too have spent the past three nights in Montreal, and have visited many of the same sights. We plan to go to Jean Talon market this morning before a hopefully smooth boarding process at lunchtime.
  25. Very reassuring, thank you. Wish us luck!
