  1. Thank you! I wonder why they still post it in there Internet page.
  2. Hallo, is the crew on the silver sea ships still wearing masks? That’s how it is described on their internet page. Are passengers somewhere requested to wear masks? Is testing only for non vaccinated persons required? Vaccinated means at least one booster? thanks!
  3. Hallo, I just wrote about my experience with the southern leg, see post #316.
  4. Hallo, I came back from a Danube trip on the 29 th of July. The ship, the Arosa Flora was supposed to go from Engelhartszell (Passau) to the cataracts (Iron Gate) and back on the Danube in 12 days. It started on July 17th, three days later we were told in Budapest that we unfortunately couldn’t continue because of the “extremely low water levels on sections of the Danube”, so we had to turn around and we would be going back for the next 9 days. The new ports of call were then Komarom, Bratislava (2 nights), Hainburg, Krems, Melk and Linz (2 nights), we almost only sailed at night. This was very disappointing. I didn't want to go there and I also wanted to travel on the Danube during the day as planned in the original plan. Arosa has at least two other ships doing Passau to Budapest only, when we have been in Komaron, one of these was also in Komaron, the guest were probably driven to Budapest by bus. And right now the Arosa Bella is in Komaron instead of Budapest. The next cruise with the Arosa Flora (started at the 29 th July) was supposed to go all the way down to the delta, a two weeks trip. They made it till Mohacs (south of Budapest) on day 3 or 4, and then turned around and now they are doing about the same itinerary as we did. The Arosa Flora is a narrow ship, specially selected for these routes. Tipps for Komaron, if you have time there are some things to see. The City south of the river is in Hungary, and not so interesting, except a huge Tesco supermarket, but there is the interesting Fort Monostor, about 2km (easy) walk just along the river. The city north is Slovakia (Euro) and the old city is very nice for a short visit, nice buildings, a market place and Europa place. And there is also a Fort, there are lots of Fort in this area.
  5. Hallo Mary, hallo Noucruzer, thank you very much for this information! If it would not be so complicated getting there, I would be ready now to go again! 30 hours to, but only 20 hours back! I have to work on this.
  6. Hallo Mary, i have some more questions! Did you do any snorkeling? Or was the water too cold? Is this offered at the Flora and do they offer wet suits? Are there offered different tours/hikes each day? On the photos you are wearing a lot of clothes, so I suppose it wasn't too hot outside. When I was there years ago in March, it was on some days very hot, too hot for long hikes, but just perfect for snorkling, which we did a lot.
  7. Thank you so much for this wonderful report! And I just got lost in your travel blog! Some years ago I have done a land based tour over the Galapagos islands which was also very nice. We stayed in little hotels on the islands and travelled with small boats from island to island. I remember that there was a limit of the group size a guide could have, 10 or 12 people, for walking and snorkeling and so. Is this still the case? And how is this handled on a 100 passenger ship? And for going ashore zodiacs are used?
