  1. I understand many lucky folks out there can book their dining, but I am not able to. Deleted the app, added the app. Logged in with booking number. No ones app works, mine, DH, kids, the web.... We are in a suite, elite and already paid in full. SUPER annoying.

Is there a number or email to reach out to at Princess for help? I will not be happy if we cannot get the reservations we want for our cruise in August at the times we want.

thanks - on the app it says both have been ordered.... but there was only 1 e-mail with wifes name on it

I was wondering if Princess just send 1 e-mail per booking number?

If both are ordered at the same time, it's one email.

  3. When ordering, you have to select all the details for both medallions, even if all you choose is the free lanyard. If you only did it for 1, then you only ordered one. If you did it for both of you, then you have it covered for both. You may have only ordered hers if you didn't walk through the process for both

  4. I am one of those who likes the idea of tipping at the end of the cruise. If I feel that someone has gone above and beyond, I am happy to tip, $100 is fine, even if it translates to $20 per request. If I feel taken care of, I appreciate it and reward it.

However, I am sure no one would turn down a $20 at the end of a cruise either. Anything is appreciated, right? or am I wrong? It is difficult because culturally my accent (American) assumes I'm an over tipper, but living abroad does make one realize that the rest of the world does not have that "American tipping culture". So, I prefer to do local customs, but because I'm "American" that may be perceived as cheap, but it's what we do.

  5. All vacations cost money. I have found the older I get, the higher my expectations are for the money spent. I do still like Princess after all of these years, but I also have decided that variety is key. We've enjoyed trying other lines. My new favorite might be Oceania, but with my years of loyalty, I know what to expect with Princess. Has it changed, sure, but I still enjoy it. I am looking forward to enjoying the Suite perks on our next sailing, and will book based on pricing, itinerary and overall price structure (meaning, one cruise might appear cheaper, but if another includes things I desire, it may make that "more expensive cruise" the one I prefer. I have never had a bad cruise on any line, and can always see the pros and cons of each option.

    Happy sailing!

  6. Typically Princess says you cannot change the age groups, I’ve never heard of anyone successfully getting their kids moved up or down to be with a sibling, but it never hurts to ask. We have been on cruises where there are so many children that Princess changes the age group ranges but that didn’t group our children together and we didn’t know that until we were on board that it would happen. When the kids were younger, we found it was good for them to go to the kids club the first day, meet some kids then schedule time back there to hang out. If they didn’t go early in the cruise it was harder to meet kids

  7. We were on a June sailing that was cancelled. The new inaugural starts on the day our cruise was set to begin but the itinerary has changed. We were notified over a year in advance, I’d say it was generous to give us anything. Not expected, but thanks!

Sure, I’m disappointed but already have our Plan B picked and waiting for our TA to book it.

    No hard feelings here.

What about this scenario, mt friends have 2 kids so have to book one adult in each room, then change arrangements once onboard ( kids are 17 & 15). One they have the 2 adults registered to one room can they get the Plus package for that room only?

By the way, at that age, the kids should be allowed to be in their own room. You don’t need one adult per room

Reminds me of the time my son and DIL took a trip somewhere in Mexico.  He had purchased a very nice bottle of tequila and had packed it in checked luggage.  When they got to their destination, he was met by an airline rep who said "Seenyore..yore bag...it leeked!"  DIL ended up throwing half their clothes out because they were soaked in 80 proof tequila! 😄

    Oh no!! Sounds terrible!!
Was she afraid to dry them in the dryer?! Lol

When leaving from our home port, we’ve started walking on with a wine trolly we got on Amazon.
When at a different port we usually stop at a store to pick up wine

I've brought plenty of red wine home in my suitcase on trips. Same packing rules apply and it has all arrived safely.

Oh, I’ve been lucky! I’ve taken up to 3 bottles in one suitcase but never properly packaged like yours. Never had a problem but still feels … lucky

I trust a bottle of champagne more than a bottle of red wine! 🤣 Champagne bottles are designed to withstand the pressures.

Yeah, I wouldn’t say my choices have been smart now, have they?! 😂

I've taken champagne from France to Australia in checked luggage on flights with no problems. I did pack it in bubble wrap then two ziplock plastic bags and nestled it between layers of clothing. It arrived safely.

    Brave!!
I’ve definitely taken wine that made it safely. I like all the packaging you did! That likely helped. I’m never that careful when traveling with wine, probably should be. I usually wrap it in clothes. Going to Mexico next month and want to take a couple of bottles. I need to get bubble wrap!

I am a champagne drinker and have not seen either one of those on the list. I would be very careful putting a sparkling in my suitcase anyway. Agree with those above and stop by the nearest liquor store. If you uber from the airport you can add a stop for minimal $.

Yes, bubbles in a suitcase sound like a disaster!!

Just to add some more information full suites pay the same $5 where as it used to be suites could order from the dining room menu at no fee.

Looks like encouraging Suites to also book with Plus or Premier 🤷🏻‍♀️

  15. So, while it “might” be spring break for some kids, most kids get a week off. So the weeklong cruise will definitely have more kids but the 10 day will have less. Most parent won’t take the kids out of school an extra half week, at least we wouldn’t have. Love the itinerary @trbarton!! We really enjoy Cabo so DH would jump on that cruise, but we are already doing something for spring break with the kid! Lol can’t do two vacations in the same month. Oh, and that work thing keeps getting in the way!

No, technically it will still be one adult per room even though the kids and adults can get access to all doors. We used to do this when the kids were young as well. All 4 need package if the adults want it

Actually I just looked, and did not find any astricks. So I gather(???) that we should spend this on the ship, or lose it???

Yep! Use it or lose it!! I’m sure you will find something!

But this isn't really helpful as I've already said I don't go to the bar nor eat in the buffet nor use room service.  And where would I get USD on a cruise out of Southampton?

You don't have to tip extra, it's a personal choice. Not required.

It sounds like you require nothing extra on a cruise, and given the preferences you've mentioned there doesn't appear to be the opportunity for a crew member to do do anything extra for you. You've already prepaid gratuities with the fare, so you are good. Should you feel that some crew member went out of their way to make your cruise more meaningful, leave a comment card on ship with GS, if they still do those, and fill out the guest survey and mention them within 3 days of your cruise. THAT helps them immensely.

  19. First off, this absolutely SUCKS for everyone booked on the February 8th cruise. I am so disappointed and feel for everyone. I can only imagine the disappointment, the difficulties in cancelling and rescheduling travel plans, and the chaos that comes with that.

We were originally booked on the Sun Princess Inaugural cruise, but we rescheduled because I was worried about this exact thing happening.... and weather in Europe in the winter.. cold. We did the delayed inaugural cruise for Oceania Vista last year, meaning, it wasn't the original date and it was cold in May!

I'm so sorry for everyone on the cancelled sailing, and I hope there aren't more cancelled. 😞
