I expect the NCL pax (outside of The Haven) are more tolerant of cold food  (which should be served warm), slow/poor service and “nickel/diming”. Additionally I expect cruisers who avoid the mass market line cruiselines to be more afluent which is often/sometimes positively correlated with the probability of a well educated, interesting conversationalist……

But I could be wrong (and often am….)

Actually I think you are wrong.

Education, intelligence and good behavior is personal and doesn't automaticlly comes with the size of the bank account.

I thought that Elite comped drinks were only available between 5-7 in bars. Are they also available ( mimosas and Bloody Marys)at the Elite breakfast? Is there a separate venue for the Elite breakfast? Is that daily? Also someone mentioned buying a bottle of wine with the elite discount at dinner. Do you have to specify the discount when you order it or is it applied automatically. Thanks

There is a 20% discount on bottles of wine at dinner. You can choose from the whole winelist which I think have better wines than the ones that are served by glass. If you don't finish the whole bottle you can save the rest for the next dinner (never happened us...😄).

They see that you are E+ when you show your seapass but be sure to check because sometime they miss it.

  3. We are Elite+ and decided NOT to get any drinking package. With the elite breakfast, HH and 20% off of a bottle of wine at dinner we didn't miss the package at all.

We had beer and some drinks at lunch and evening if we wanted.

Total bar cost just over 800 usd for both of us. With the Classic package it would have cost us over 2000 usd... .🥶

I've also been checking daily and saw that price drop.  Booked the premium drink package and wi-fi for a summer 2024 sailing on Ascent.

One things to be careful about.  I booked a tour at 35% off, months ago.  Now, it's 45% off, so I thought I'd potentially save some money if I rebooked it.  Nope.  The tour price was about $80 higher, even though it now has a 10% larger discount.  That's apparently because the base price of the tour increased before this sale.

Even though I often buy the drink package, I get mixed feelings about it.  The full-priced drink package seems like a rip-off to me.  At 45% off, it's still not cheap, but the pricing is obviously more tolerable.

I've considered bringing on 4 bottles of good wine, just paying the corkage fee, and buying an extra drink here and there "as needed."  Anyone do that?  I guess it's nice to not have to worry about it, but sometimes the GF grumbles that perhaps it's not needed.  That said, I was on Eclipse recently with a buddy and we did spend a fair amount of time in the World Class Bar.  Drinks at $17 per (plus gratuity) could start to add up quickly.

Yeah, the drink package prices are horrible! We will pay as we go.

Do you happen to know what a G&T (Bombay Saphire) cost?

  5. We are Elite Plus and one of the benefits we really appreciate is the included coffeehouse-style breakfast.

Ween I look in the app where our benefits are listed the breakfast doesn't show...😬

    Has there been any changes?

It's listed in the recent pdf I downloaded.

Is there any Elite + that can tell me if the breakfast still is a benefit or not? Thanks in advance!

I just booked the Premium Beverage Package for $47.99 per day plus gratuity and Premium WiFi for $13.99 for one device per day for my Fall 2024 APEX transatlantic.  Both prices are by far the lowest per diems I've seen for those items.

I can't find these prices anywhere? Looking in the app it's the ordinary prices that shows. 109 usd/person and day... plus 20 % gratitude.

I think that’s exactly how it should work, if you turn up significantly before your time slot you wait outside. There is no need for anyone without rockstar status to arrive before 1.30pm.

When we got there at 2pm we had a short wait to drop luggage and then straight into the terminal, hand luggage scanned and then just one person in front of us in the DBE expedited boarding queue. Whole process took maybe 20 minutes.

Lucky you! For sure we wasn't on the same cruise 🙂

We checked in around 2pm in late September and could go straight inside. What time did you try?

We turned up just after 1pm (check in at 1:30). No one except for the suite guests could get in. Long wait in the Splash o  Romance/DBE line. Quite caotic when people with later arrivals turned up with lots of people having to wait outside...

Be happy you're still in Barcelona. Those sailing in the summer and beyond 2024 should start expecting that new port to come into play. The one that's an hour drive away from Barcelona.

Once that is completed I fully expect Barcelona to close their port to all cruise ships above a certain size, probably above 80,000GT, and move all the traffic to that new port.

Where have you found that information? Or is it a guess?

No tip is expected. When we arrived at cruise terminal A three weeks ago you queued for a counter outside, showed your passport and they check if you are eligible for DBE or Splash of romance and looked up your cabin number. They issued wristbands if you do have expedited boarding and tagged the bags. Then you go inside and do hand luggage security before going to check in.

Early Sep you could drop the bagage and get your wristband as DBE but they didn't let you inside. Really hope it has changed!

Thank you. I did set up our booking so that I'm paying with my credit card for my spouse's purchases. I was hoping this would take care of this issue and I appreciate the confirmation. I also inquired further with VV by email and they responded that for this particular promotion the $300 Bar Tab is attached to Sailor 1's folio by default but that once we are on board we can have this split between the two of us so that each gets $150. We can do that as well just in case.

Just walk up to guest relation after boarding and ask them to connect your wife to the bartab. All purchases will be drawn from that.

    Our bartab wasn't split 50/50.

  12. I can't access the side where I sign in to Captain Club anymore. Have tried for days now but the website doesn't load the last step - the side where I enter the password.

Have tried on the computor, mobile and a tablet but neither works...😡 cookies is cleared.

Have never had any problems like this before and wonder if I'm the only one...

I believe as long as you buy your beverage package while outside the EU (like before you go) you shouldn't be charged VAT on included drinks.   I think it also depends on the sailing.  If your itinerary doesn't leave the EU then VAT is collected on any onboard purchase.  This is nothing new and why many itineraries visit at least 1 non-EU port.

We have had the beverage package, purchased within EU and have never payed VAT on the drinks on sailings in EU...

VV has had more than enough time to hire the right developers to make their app easy, streamlined and reliable.

    And they clearly haven't.

At least it's not as shitty as MSC's app.  It could be worse folks.

    Are you sure.....?🙂
